Jason, I saw this truck on a website and thought of you. 97 F350 crewcab . 7.3 88k miles. Wild paint job similar to your Ford. Renagade conversion. The bad part is it's 2wd but $23,000. Theil Motor Sales in Iowa. It's not to far in Iowa and a little north of 80.
On your 99 F350, the only part under the hood that you can unbolt is a section of upper radiator support. The inner fenders are welded in, and they connect in a "U" under the radiator. I could email you a picture of what that clip looks like. You would need one of those special small hole saws they use to drill out the spot welds and weld in the replacement. And of course, you would be doing it twice. I saved the whole front clip from a wreck I bought so I could do this very thing. It would be a very time consuming project which is why I haven't done it yet, if ever.
I was broke down on i80 in Elkhart I could not believe how many 3 car hotshot trucks went by in 16 hours.i just got an f450 going to cans for hotshot training any day now.cant make up my mind cars or freight.

Yes you should be picky. You are spending your money, you should get just what you want.
