- Hey everyone, it’s Judi here! Today I will be customizing my Switch to make it pastel pink! I'll be documenting the process and sharing some of my final thoughts! This is the reason why I got a case instead of taking my Nintendo switch apart, and also I would never be able to take mine apart without doing something wrong ;-;

@Mrsuperking TH-cam631 A bright green could look really cool! Have you seen the clear switch shells? They’re pretty interesting too! Personally, I like the way my switch turned out but you could definitely customize it to your tastes 😊

Did the math, should be about 80 dollars... am I that desperate for a cute switch? Yes. How long will it take me to get there? 3 months. Can I wait now that I’ve seen how cute it can be? Debatable. Will I beg my dad to help me pay? Maybe. Will my dad end up doing the whole customizing? Yes.
@Kaila Whitaker Those aren't proper Nintendo switch branded joy cons and I doubt they will work or last as well at that price. Normal Nintendo joy cons are 80$ and then to get them customized with colours it would be well over 100$. Are you sure those were proper joy cons or just cases? Cause I haven't seen any joy cons on amazon for that price.

You can still remove the screws! All you need is a rubber band. Put the rubber band on top of the screw then use you screw driver to unscrew it and the rubber band should help you get a good grip of the screw! Let me know if you tried it.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it but you can place a small rubber band over the stripped screw to help get it out. Just lay the rubber band over the screw then use the screwdriver like normal. It just gives it some extra grip

@@harumi1676 My switch works perfectly right now! I’ve had no problems since changing the shell. I actually had a little bit of joycon drift before I took them apart and it went away after changing them so if anything my switch is better 😂

There is a way to remove stripped screws but I don’t think it would work with a switch as it would require melding or a strong glue and screws to replace the ones you stripped

Yes, thank you for saying that, I agree, its the inside that counts. And just so you know, if you have not already, if you want to get the back to be pink, then you could get a case that is pink or maybe even pink with an adorable design on the back, that doest require you taking the back plate off or anything, you just slide it on, as if it were like a phone case, but for a Nintendo switch :3
The link in your bio the button replacement It only has the SR SL L R ZR ZL not the minus plus or the circle or the square buttons I do not have the Nintendo switch but its coming on the 28th so I don't know what the names of the buttons are called but ya XD but it turned out so cutee like ahhh! :3

So a couple of things.
1: I'm glad that you at least mention how hard getting joycons are to open. If you didn't I would have called you out so loud XD
2: You actually can't actually switch buttons around. All the buttons are modeled in such a way they will not fit unless they're in the right spot.
3. This is so goddamn cute, that I have a mighty need to do a full shell replacement again.
And finally you are so adorable throughout this video and I'm so glade you brought us along with you on your switch custom build journey.
Oh yeah no this is edited it was such a struggle to open them 😂😂 also I love the buttons they remind me of those puzzles when you’re a baby that have to fit into the right shaped hole also thank you so much I’m so happy you enjoyed the video 💕💕
@@crossinglife also, I have no doubt someone's mentioned it, but using a rubber band on the stripped screws may help get them off, but I highly recommend letting your dad or another guy that has enough weight behind them to undo them. If worst comes to worst, ask if a local computer repair shop can do it for you. With the back plate unscrewed, the rest will be easy and you can replace the the screws with the ones they sent you with the shell.

I’ve read eXremerate reviews on Amazon where people were saying that the tools that come with the shells will often strip the screws and that it’s better to use your own tools.
IM OBSESSED why didnt you put the case on the switch itself!

I did read a few reviews about how the tools extremerate provides damage the screws easily. Maybe you can invest in better tools next time around. That and try a Y00 screwdriver bit instead.
