Radiant Miralis, I believe that it makes much more sense that Cassie Cage and Johnny Cage were easily able to defeat Shinnok so easily because it’s like how Batman, DeathStroke, DeadShot, and Lex Luther are able to defeat Superman if they have the strongest case of Kyrptonite because it’s mentioned not only in the Arcade ending of MK9 and MKX, but it’s also mentioned in the MKX comics whereas in MK11 Raiden fusing with Liu Kang to defeat Kronika is something out of fan fiction.

Geometrik 95 Well, Black is obviously older in MKX and has lost the accent. MK11 Black is younger and more of a badass ladykiller - it’s basically Troy Baker putting on his best Texan accent. And he is so brilliant at it.
MKX Johnny was written better, in my opinion. Also his roasts had more of an “OOOOOO” factor in MKX, just because of how quick they were.

It's clear that MKX and MK11 had Johnny written very differently. Which, of course, is reasonable considering which Johnny is the one you're playing as. MKX Johnny is older, more mature, pretty far removed from his movie-making days, yet still a playful and witty jackass, whereas MK11 is super-self-absorbed, slightly less witty, and a bit too focused on making movie references because he is supposed to be the younger Johnny Cage. (Though his references with Skarlet and Cassie are rather wonderful, though I do think that MK11 Johnny's interactions with Cassie are meant to be the older Johnny, but that's hard to say one way or the other)
Overall, I think MKX Johnny is better written (and way funnier, with actual insults to boot), and he could even take insults quite easily without much issue. MK11 Johnny is a little too defensive at times and doesn't come off as fun-loving as older Johnny. Though, this might just be the universe against the younger one as they've already lived through several decades with him being a smartass all the time. It's like he's trying to force himself into a famous place among the cast in the new timeline as opposed to being a naturally memorable part of it from having been there all along.
Which mk11 johnny cage? The future or past one? Because if it's the pass one, it's supposed to be like that since he didn't grow any humility from being beat up for real and meeting what real life really is. Past johnny is still just a movie star and nothing else, while mkx and future johnny on mk11 are more humble and serious because of his military job. When you account for these lines, I for one don't know which ones are supposed to be from which johnny unless they're taking about the future version of themselves so that's a thing too. Basically they technically are 2 different characters, so would make sense to be written differently.
that could very well be the point given the fact he was all of a sudden thrown into a future were mk9 was just starting out (I think it was the beginning don't quote me on that) and with that comes a daughter that he wasn't expecting and he is told he would marry sonia which to him is an even bigger surprise. as well as being told he was respected in the military.

ALBRNS02 Totally agree. Kano sounds more menacing, Kotal sounds more like a Kahn not going through an identity crisis, Sonya sounds more in command, even Liu Kang and Kung Lao sounds funnier in MKX than MK11.

I don't know why Cage saying "I'm cooler than you" to Sub-Zero made me laugh so hard. It's such a stupid and simple joke but at the same time just brilliant. If there's anything that makes MK stand out in general compared to other (fighting) games, then it's sure as hell the 10/10 dialogues. I could literally spend dozens of hours listening to all the intros and not get bored for a second. Huge props to the devs.
