The incredible talented and most underrated artist in the universe, ms. Vicky Randle. Equally talented on percussion, guitar, vocal and many other things.
i was 6 when this track came out. even at that tender age i knew what real music was. now 34, im picking this track as me & my partners 1st dance when we get married !! real music is timeless!! you my friend, you know your tunes!
A most memorable concert. New Year's Eve 1980 (could've been '79). Angela Bofill (opening act), Al Jarreau (middle act) and George Benson (headline). Vicki Randall was was on percussion and did some vocal work (Moody's Mood). All three performers were great. Though the Benson Crew were very late getting on stage.
New Year's, I think 1980 could've been 1981. Oakland Coliseum Angela Bofill, Al Jarreau and George Benson. Still one of the most memorable concerts I attended. George Benson was the headline act, Vicki Randle was on percussion. She sang Patti Austin's part on Moody Mood (George's version). She was great probably more so because I didn't remember her ever singing and I'd swear I'd seen her around the SF Bay Area playing percussion (at local clubs or festivals). Why am i here? I was just watching Shiela E.(scovedo) perform with Prince and I hope I'm too young to have old age dementia... somehow I remember them (Randle and Escovedo) playing if not together at the same venue at the same time?
You see yourself on my face a reflection of pain? You also see somebody made me cry over and over again? Then marry me Vicki, and take all this hurt away.....
Ain't gonna happen, Owen. She's gay. But she IS a wonderful person, from what I understand. I only met her once, very briefly. A very dear friend of mine, who is no longer with us, played with her, back in the 80's, in a band that unfortunately, didn't last very long. But he absolutely loved her.
Underrated love song. Saw them singing it live at Sun City in 1982. Great chemistry they had.
OMG! Perfection personified...Vicki Randle and George Benson... you cannot get anything better!!!

You know her? Please tell me that’s her on percussion in George’s Give Me The Night video. I’ve been trying to win a bet! And tell her she’s amazing!
