You don't know how long iv been looking for something like this on the internet. I love the design I have several different lawn mowers I can use for parts . I saved this video to my favorites so I can go back and look at it for reference when making mine. Thank you for sharing :>)

Try using a power window motor off of a car's power windows for the dump bed. They can be found in salvage yards for cheap and their pretty strong. Their good for a lot of different projects. 🙂

Good call, you can even mount to the older style linear hand crank, or I guess even a scissor jack, jacks and make a linear actuator that's really heavy duty.

I need to weld up an addition like this with my powerarc. What a great idea.

Does the air cooled motor run cool enough with the sides enclosed? It is a well engineered buggy. I know it would be handy around the homestead. 👍

interesting I'm building things from old riding mowers,
yours makes me wonder the turning radius... in need
    something shorter......
. building a stubby took 20 inches outdoor the frame
. a mini forklift....big tires on fork end..
. and a dumper like yours but shorter....
    yours was a thoughtful build

Donald Powers yes the turning radius is definitely larger. It's not a problem but I do need to remember to take wider turns. As I mention I didn't build this but it is well put together and it is very useful around the yard. I haven't had time to add a power lift and that is a must. See my other video on my Frankentrailer... that I did build and the power lift is great. Thanks.

Just a quick FYI: I have found that Plano Power equipment in Plano Texas has a wide variety of parts for gas engines at good prices. When I sold used lawn mowers, they had the best price for Honda small engine carburetors. I could buy a complete carburetor from them for less than just the float locally, and they have a good website. A place that has a lot of things like linear actuators, motors, hydraulic cylinders, and lots of other things is Surplus Center in Lincoln Nebraska. It's a good thing that I don't live near them. I'd spend all of my money there. I was thinking that for a dump bed, a hydraulic cylinder powered by a power steering pump from a junkyard should work. If I remember right, these pumps run at 1000 to 1500 psi.

I'm to the point where I'm wanting to put pull starters on all my small engines. Looks like can be done using stock, modified others brands like the Honda's that are cheaper, or the more old fashioned notched pulley design. If heavy duty, the last design can even be made to have another pulley for driving something like hydraulic pump, pneumatic compressor, generator and/or alternator. I guess even a gear box too for a front horizontal shaft to tap into for implements.

Yes you are right it is too closed in. Unfortunately the original covers didn’t come with it and I was getting mice to nest in the engine so I used whatever I had laying around but I should cut holes and put in a mesh. Just another project on the list!

@@randytravis3998 I did that before even with my car! I have replaced the engine since and have not run into the mouse issue again. I have a couple of update videos on this. Check it out. Thanks!

Thank you for the info, very valuable. this toy has served me well mostly to carry and hold firewood under my deck just outside of a basement slider door so I can bring it in when needed in the winter. The engine is past do so I'm just getting ready to do an engine swap and I will also flush and replace the transmission fluid. Thank you!
