The 'extra' seat is actually the original front seat. The front buckets were NOT factory original. It's missing the second rear 'buddy' seat and the flip downs are foot rests. That second buddy seat may be in the trunk since they kept the original fron bench seat. Good job, thanks for sharing! It's great to see the King again!!!!
I dug this episode - Cadillac revival, Thad lending a hand, and THE KING. That being said, that early 1970's Imperial Hardtop sitting right next to the Fleetwood was the real attention-getter for me.
I think it will be for sale by the Moffitts. Richard clearly had no interest in it since it was mainly just his future son in law's bachelor party car then they used it to drive some buddies or crew to one race. I don't think Richard ever rode in it until maybe he did off screen in this episode.
Richard Petty doesn't give a shit about that old Caddy. He let it sit outside to ROT for 30 years. These guy's just destroyed the engine, its rusty,, it only good for parting out.
Hi Dylan, it doesn't matter whether you get the car started or not. The most important thing is that you did it together with your father. That's quality time. I can't do that anymore because my father is no longer here, he passed away almost 20 years ago and I still miss him every day. Enjoy the time you have with your dad! May the Lord bless you. Greetings from the Netherlands!
I hear you. My dad passed away 12 years ago and I inherited the only new car he ever bought, a 1966 Dodge Coronet 500. I take care of it now and work on it with the teachings I learned from him.
Visited the shop about 4 years ago and Richard Petty posed for pictures and autographs for my family. Such a nice and humble man. Bet that Imperial still packing a 440. STP43 forever!
Heck yea,Thad Moffit turning wrenches with you is awesome. The king and him just established a full time ride in the truck series. He's got a really good record for the small amount he gets to race I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do full time. Seems like a down to earth dude. Hope to see ur dad in some more vids, keep up the good work Dylan.

If you don't mind I have a suggestion for your merch shop. A T-shirt that say Ran when parked, a them for most of your revivals. I would buy one.
Those small seats are called 'jump seats', normally folded forward, and pulled down when needed for extra passengers. The smaller blue device is a footrest for passengers seated in the back.
That was aweseome. Nothing better than pulling a car outta the woods and getting it started. It's such a great satisfaction when you get it running. Thad just might get every car running that is in the woods.
@@robertjohnson1681same here, too. Watched the races with my dad. I bought a 74 Charger years later and still have it. His best racecar and those were the King's words.

Wow! What a cool opportunity Dylan! Working on one of Mr. Petty’s cars with Thad at the Petty compound! Are you kidding me! Awesome video and the fact that Richard took the time to come out while you were working to chat was super cool. He is the GOAT and I can’t believe how great he looks at 86yo!

I've always been told that I am an old soul. Born in 1974, everything that is like the most is from the 70's. Whether it be music, cars. movies, etc. So if that is the case...., then Dylan is an ANCIENT soul, given his age and the cars that he revives! LOL. Love what you do. I am always entertained.
Interesting stuff! I had 1974 Coupe Deville for a few years, it was smooth ride indeed. BTW, the start button underhood is for bypassing Seatbelt Interlock System which was in use in 1974. You had to wear seatbelts in order to start this thing and if/when system failed you could press underhood button to bypass this and start vehicle.. Mine had this bypassed long ago.

The limo came with a front bench seat and some later person put a pair of mismatched bucket seats in the front. Later when they retired it to the back 40, the front bench was just thrown in the back. There are not two full bench seats in the rear of a limo like this. You get more leg room and two fold away "jump seats". I rode in a car exactly like this at a relatives funeral.

Yeah I agree one should do work on that Cadillac re new the Radiator fit new ignition barrel new tires Sort the interior an bring back some shine to the exterior give it some love an use it .. runs good Can’t believe the Brakes actually worked after sitting 30years but hey they did that’s awesome.. I owned a 73 Cadillac Eldorado Baritz back in 1980 that had the 500cu in engine front Wheel drive an ran on regular Gas hit 16MPG on long runs would you believe ..
Fun fact...Maurice Petty built a 426 Hemi for a car that my Dad was crewchief on and it ran 8th in the 1970 Permatex 300 in Daytona. Billy Bayles from Monroe La. was the driver.
In 1974 the 500 was only used in the Eldorado, however if that is a factory limo it's possible Cadillac put a 500 in it. Otherwise it would be a 472. In 1975 all full size Cadillacs used the 500.
That brings back memories of my Roadmaster wagon. It was 17 feet long and weighed 5300lbs, but would go 130mph with no problem. I actually drag raced it a few times. I loved that car.
That's a 74 Cadillac 75 series formal limousine. Fun to watch! I'm sure you figured this out, but you can't fill a cold radiator by way of the overfill tank. That only draws extra coolant back into the radiator after it's gotten hot then draws a vacuum when it cools.
Great job, Dylan. I love the juxtaposition of the pristine shop full of beautiful cars…to the quick cut of you stuck in the cold, with that old Caddy! 😂

awesome dylon, what a cool video. at first i thought maybe you just found pettys his caddy somewhere alse and for sure not on the petty complex. thanks so much for bringing us along
There was an interview that Richard petty did one time and he was talking about back in the early days at the original petty mechanic scratch what they would do with smashed race cars. They didn't have enough time to take them to a scrapyard, so all they would do would be is to dig a hole, drop the race car in it after scrapping it down, filling it in. And do that time and time again. His initial comment was imagine the treasures you could dig up in the property behind that original shop?
My best friend had a 69 Fleetwood Limo he daily drove from High school until after he Graduated from college. It was also from a Funeral Home. He kept it cherry. Lots of adventures were had in that beast.
Being able to get it running and driving again after 28 years with minimal effort is a testament to how good Cadillacs were made back in the old days. The body actually looks like it's still in good shape. Those plastic filler panels in the back are notorious for disintegrating due to age. Fantastic job guys and it was really great seeing three generations of the Petty's.... a lot of history on that property
I bought a 66 fleetwood 75 limo, funeral homes use them as the "family car" for funeral processions. It should also have a separate climate control unit for the back seats, also those flip ups are for rests. These are so much cooler than regular cadi sedans. You found yourself a gem, and the king is looking great still!
When I was 9 years old. I got to meet The legend himself. In Nashville, Tennessee. I l Lived across from a Warehouse place called space park South. Not sure why he was there. That Imperial is my favorite Imperial body style. If it is a coupe it is rare. The Cadillac limo is rough and would cost more than it's worth to restore. A good parts car.

Still have it hanging on my wall.
Has been a great talking piece through my whole life.
Great job, Dylan. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to your next video and what kind of content you're gonna come up with next?
That Imperial is my favorite Imperial body style. If it is a coupe it is rare. The Cadillac limo is rough and would cost more than it's worth to restore. A good parts car.
That Imperial is awesome.
The Imperial sitting right next to the Cadillac 🤘🤘🤘
What a great episode! Always a treat to see a Cadillac get some love.
