- After celebrating the end of our GLYWO rally around the world with the remaining boats in Ponta Delgada on the Azores we still have another part of the North Atlantic crossing to complete. Plenty of wind, first upwind than reaching. There's a whole lotta shaking going on ....

I can't believe I have watched you for more than 3yrs, from lagoon to Outremer
You would almost forget that there was a life before sailing. We have been sailing a catamaran now close to fulltime since September 2015 when we collected our L39 from Les Sables and sailed her to above the arctic circle in amazing Norway. We’ve seen so many beautiful places and had loads of fun both sailing and at the destinations for about 65.000 miles now. We can only hope there’s plenty more to come ..
Thank you Marijke and Mark for sharing your adventure with the world...I got lost on TH-cam during the darkest days of Covid and found your adventure...I saw hope and happy at the horizon , the new sunrise of the day, the beauty of sunset...wishing you health , peace and happiness💌

Great film and what a tour.. serious mileage. you had a few defects along the way do you think mostly ware and tare from serious mileage and loads or latent defects in castings or factory assembly? Safe watch on next legs
Most of the stuff we had was related to the mileage, some like the spi halyard and the rudder on Fiji caused by human error but there were also a couple of more recall kind of issues like the size of the rudders and upgrading the davits.
And there was of course the tourist boat on Aruba that hit us while we were on anchor

🤣 we were thinking that we are really careful 🙈. The part at the bottom of the stay shouldn’t have broken of course so we are really interested to hear about the results from the investigation of this part by the supplier
Literally watched all of your films for the sail trimming and offshore. Very hard for a novice without years behind the helm to get the “sea time” but you can run through hrs of YT weather and people’s experience to try and catch up a little.. also good to see what boats will be good buys in 10/15yrs when the rest of us mortals can afford them 😂 but you two are serious sailors chapeau!

What direction are you going with the new boat? Performance or more comfort? Would do one more round? I like your taste in music.
We are always looking for an optimum between comfort, performance and sorry to say also looks. I don’t think we will look for something more performant than the 55 except for the fact that bigger might always be a bit faster but again with more comfort as well.

Thanks for another great video! We arrived in Lagos about 2 weeks ago (Atlantic 42 by Chris White, family of 4, Starry Night) where you headed to this season?
We are on our way to the Cannes Boat Show to show how the boat looks after 40.000 nm and 3 years. The hand over is end of September.

@CatGreatcircle we are loving it after our first ocean crossing. SxM to Horta to Punto Delgada to Lagos. We have a 8 yr old and a 13 yr old. They are loving it here after all the sailing some marina time.

Depending on the final choice of the new boat but we would very much like that. We hope to be able to make a decision before or at the Cannes boat show

@@CatGreatcircle honestly, for as much as you fly the drone, especially underway... many others have a much worse loss rate. That isn't too bad. There have been lots of great shots.

She was sold 5 years ago, the day we bought her. Discussing the next boat as we speak.
I have been following you guys on and off since you lunched Cat Greatcircle. I know your carbon fiber cross beam and forward beam broke. Do you have any plans to replace carbon fiber again? Is there any noticeable difference between carbon fiber vs fiber glass in terms of speed of the boat?
Yes in LGM they will apparently put a new carbon cross on. I don’t think performance wise there’s a big difference apart from the size of the sails but it REALLY looks good 😇
