It was a quiz show with categories and number of contracts in the main game and a Bonus Island where you can win money by hitting three Bullseyes and avoid the lightning. The show was produced by Jack Barry & Dan Enright Productions, producers of “Tic Tac Dough” and “The Joker’s Wild”. The first season had the main format, and the second season had the “Celebrity” format. As for the Barry & Enright’s “Bullseye”, it was fine, but a completely different show hence the name “Bullseye”.
The point is well-taken. I have always thought that the reason a $500 bonus was offered in Shell Game for picking the right shell when they won all four but not for picking the correct window in Bonus Game when they won all four was because they thought people would feel the the board operator could change the bonus window and thus not trust the game, even though the technology didn't exist to do so. Btw, it bugs me that the revamped Bonus Game doesn't put "No" in the three windows that don't contain the bonus.
I love that the hidden bullseye is digital because I saw a playing of the game where Bob accidentally showed the hidden bullseye instead of just showing the price of the item. This is why I love that the hidden bullseye is digital.
With four chances to win, Bullseye is one of the easiest games. And LOL and "Amen!" at 3:45. I loved Bob (despite the way he and the show treated Janice and Holly, which was unforgivable) but the people who cry that he should have kept hosting are idiots - it was way past time for him to retire (though I don't think Drew was a good choice).
Watching Bob by the mid 2000s was absolutely painful. He was in his 80s and trying to speed through shows while allowing the contestants to run around like maniacs over his stage. It was rough.
Some pricing game makeovers in my opinion were good (Danger Price, Bullseye, Master Key, Shell Game, Ten Chances, Card Game) some were bad (Punch a Bunch, Side By Side, Pushover, Take Two).
Bullseye SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN modernized, there was nothing wrong with the original look of Bullseye, and I miss the old school egg crate numbers on the readout with the original look of the game
The Eggcrates are too old to work now. It's far easier to repair an LCD than an eggcrate when it's messed up. Spelling Bee is also probably nearing the need to do LCD updates as well.
Notice: The Price Is Right never got sued by Barry Enright Productions for the use of the name "Bullseye" because, unlike "Blank Check", they were the first ones to use the name. Barry Enright would use it a few years later which was formerly about to be called "Double Cross" earlier. How THEY got the rights from TPIR for the game show title is unknown. Let's call it a coincidence.
