Well worth keeping the audio reaction... We are nice people we can cope with the frozen face as we are listening and watching PT after all..... So glad you are enjoying the rabbit hole...!!
I’m glad you posted this even with all the problems. Your audio reaction was great! And yes the live version is better to the extent you see all that’s going, feel the energy and see the chemistry of the band. I’ve been a fan of PT for 18 days now and have accumulated 14 CD/DVDs with more on the way. I have tickets for the Denver show already and plan on seeing them in Dallas and Milwaukee. I never had a bucket list but if I did I would be fulfilling it by seeing these guys multiple times. I too am a 70’s prog. Guy. I was blown away from the first video I watched which was “Anestthetize.” You will be too when you watch it live. Thanks for the shoutouts. I’m retired military of 31 yrs, Air Force.
PT have just reformed after 14 years and have a new album out 'Closure/Continuation and are touring later this year. Also their front guy Steven Wilson is a rabbit hole with a vast array of music to discover, he is an amazing music producer and has remixed many landmark prog albums, your in for a treat.......
Welcome to PT land! One thing that many PT fans (me included) will say, “Porcupine Tree is almost always better live.” They have several live albums available as you have discovered, and all of these songs are fantastic….
Great reaction, glad you kept this one going. One of the best bands I have seen live, you really have so much to see and hear with these guys, keep with them, you won’t be disappointed 👍 cheating the polygraph is anothe great live watch as well as normal and hatesong, all belters 😁⭐️
Steven is one of the few artists to mix his music in actual surround sound. I do believe he's won a Grammy or two in that category. So if you have a 5.1 audio system and his DVD's, it's just insane.
For me the must listen to PT tracks (live of course) are Arriving Somewhere.. which you already did, Dark Matter, Anesthetize, Fear of a Blank Planet, Sound of Muzak but honestly I could fill a screen with recommendations then there is the solo career - how about The Creator has a Mastertape from Live at Royal Albert Hall - not often mentioned but brilliant
Best modern prog band in my opinion. Steven Wilson is a musical genius and the whole band are virtuoso musicians. Gavin Harrison is one of the best drummers today (Neil Peart was a big fan of Gavin's). Steven Wilson is also a studio wizard and has done critically acclaimed remixes of many prog classics, including the whole discographies of Jethro Tull and King Crimson, and other classics by Yes, Rush, Gentile Giant, and many more.
The guy playing the arpeggios at the beginning, is Steven's doppleganger, John Wesley. He does the backing vocals and second guitar parts that would normally just be Steven in the studio.
Let's hear it for John Wesley! He's not really a member of Porcupine Tree, but the job he does covering the harmony vocals and second guitar tracks done by Steven Wilson on the studio cuts is simply amazing, and one of the main reasons people keep commenting that Pt "is better live".
Thank you for this. Tight is the perfect word to describe their live performances. Keep it handy! Now I would suggest a Gavin Harrison showcase piece. I recommend Way out of Here live from Tilburg, or Cheating the Polygraph from the same show. Thanks again, I check frequently for new PT reactions. I certainly look forward to more from you.
A solid song and performance ( they are better live...) , if not one of their more mainstream songs. The rabbit hole gets deeper. The drummer ,Gavin Harrison is THE second coming. During the 10 year hiatus from PT , he was a member of King Crimson ( which says much) . He is currently also a member of a wonderful modern prog band called The Pineapple Thief . "In Exile " and " White Mist " are good starters... AAAND.....as everyone keeps saying Anesthetize live can't be avoided much longer ( and Gavin will be on full display) th-cam.com/video/kgwgtERCVI4/w-d-xo.html
Hi dude ! Just a little advice for your thumbnail or titles, they're good ofc, but on some of them we can't see which song you've been going through, and that almost made me pass the video and not click on it :O So it's just for you, do what you want with it ^^ Thx for the reaction, this song is a masterpiece and glad you liked it !
I'm sure you'll be checking out Anesthetize live at Tilburg, because that's usually the crowds favorite. However, even if it's not for a reaction video, you should check out Cheating the Polygraph live at Tilburg. One of their best songs but often overlooked.
Stephen Wilson has, amongs many others, produced Opeth's albums. If you don't already have them on your list, add Opeth - "The Sorceress" live to your list, here's a link: th-cam.com/video/8Fc0pbZxlo8/w-d-xo.html
Love the channel. But I gotta say the top 50 list you're using is a lil based. So much more amazing prog out there. Literally half of the list is dedicated to Dream Theatre and Porcupine Tree or side projects of the 2 forementioned. I love em so no issue. But many, many great bands out nowadays.
I just used that list as a starting point because I obviously didn't know any of the music. Not sticking strictly with that, will definitely do many others not on that list. Thanks for stopping by.
Hey bro there went something wrong with the editing. The PT video runs fine but the video of you seems to be broken (one frame per minute) But hey... nice to be back with PT 🤩
Anesthetize Live from Tilburg is a must!!!
Your expression says it all at 5:53.
One of my fave live PT performances! Never get tired of this song.
I was there and it was till today one of the best live performances I have ever seen!
Finest
these guys are absolutely awesome. and they have imho one of the top drummers in the business.

Thanks for your service brother. 9 yrs Army here. Appreciate you stopping by.
ex Air Force here, B52D crew chief 76-78... taking my 2 kids to see PT in Denver!
@@jonmiller6366 wow, thanks for your service brother. Thanks for stopping by the channel.
Just More Porcupine Tree...
Hi tom thanks for welcoming me lol.
PT have just reformed after 14 years and have a new album out 'Closure/Continuation and are touring later this year. Also their front guy Steven Wilson is a rabbit hole with a vast array of music to discover, he is an amazing music producer and has remixed many landmark prog albums, your in for a treat.......

More Porcupine Tree! Anesthetize live from Tilburg is a must, as well Hatesong live from Chicago. And many others too😊🤘

Love PT but also a lot of other stuff like Earthside's A dream in static. And Sleep Token's Ascensionism. You'll apriciate these 2.

Porcupine Tree is like a less depressed Pink Floyd or a more articulated or more active music with faster speed and more changes.
With PT and Steven Wilson, live is usualy better than studio.
Thank you for this. Tight is the perfect word to describe their live performances. Keep it handy!

Yes. I vote for Cheating the Polygraph live at Tilburg for a crazy good drummer!

I love this band. I'd recommend their song The Start of Something Beautiful (album version) the next time you listen to something by them.
Have it!! I haven't found a bad song yet.

This was live from Chicago not tilburg

Yes, there was a problem. I explained it with a graphic, you obviously skipped over it LOL. But definitely appreciate you stopping by nonetheless.
