This track brings me joy and tears. The music composition is outrageously mind blowing. It blends so freakin well together. ❤❤❤That base guitar riff is 🔥🔥🔥It’s the bassist from Opeth. Steven Wilson vocals. Leaves me speechless. Genius. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
PT and steven Wilson are amazing. I would recommend you listen to another British prog rock/metal band called Haken all their songs are amazing, but one of my own personal favourites is Falling back to Earth. Another band you should try and listen to is Riverside and the song Escalator Shrine, you wont be disappointed 🤣. Great reactions and channel always good to see someone react to your favourite music.
Great song! Would highly recommend checking out The Dear Hunter sometime. They play just about every genre under the sun and sometimes multiple genres on the same song. Great vocals, composition, and instrumentation. I would suggest A Night on the Town as a starting point to get an idea for some of their sound. It's off the album Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise which is part of a 5 Act album series following a main character with a host of side characters. Great story telling!
Just discovered your channel, love it! Definitely recommend "Anesthetize" and "Hatesong" by Porcupine Tree. Particularly the live versions, though especially of the latter. Cheers!
By the way, seing that you've done quite a few prog-metal bands, I'd recommend you try Plini. My advice would be to start with either Selenium Forest or Electric Sunrise, but honestly you could start with any of his songs and have a nice experience.
If looking for newer prog-rock releases, you might like "Dethroned & Uncrowned" by Katatonia, or "Weather Systems" by Anathema, or "Snowtorch" by Phideaux. Those are album names.
Hey Dean Check out “ Blackest Eyes “ It has a great booming riff, turn it up loud, that was written by Mikael Akerfeldt from another modern prog rock band ( well more modern than us ) LoL When Steven Wilson was in Opeth. But it is a on one of the Porkipine tree albums. Dave ( on Tina’s IPad )
Recommend "Anesthetize" and "Hatesong" by Porcupine Tree-the LIVE versions. Also, Gavin Harrison is an elite drummer, Peart was a fan too (wrote the foreword to Gavin's book)...watch any drummer-reaction video about Gavin
i was dragged up with 70's 80's prog - about 15yrs ago i kinda thought i should look around and check out some newer bands. Never looked back - havnt played Yes for yrs. PT of course are number one for me
@@deanwolfechannel Thank you, best tracks from them in my opinion: Once, Invisible Man, All Gone Now, Daydreams and Memory Lapses and Go. Greetings from Mexico!
All this time on the planet never heard PT? All the comments, Never Heard of this band. HUH? PT from 1987, Opeth from 1989, Tool from 1990. Next is like nobody heard of Katatonia, The Pineapple Thief. Steven Wilson is a musical genius. Gavin Harrison is the drum perfectionist. Do you know about Joe Bonamossa, Walter Trout, Gary Moore?
Heard of porcupine tree. Never listened. Opeth only recently. Heard of p thief. I downloaded a Wilson album once. It's actually very easy to ignore new prog rock for decades to be honest. Very easy. Do you doubt that somehow?
Hey Dean. I’m sure you getting aquatinted with more PT. They are infectious. ( sorry no pun intended ) but what else do we have to do right now except rock out with head phones. suggestions “ Blackest eyes “ Anesthesti nice drumming and cool tune. Fear of an Angry planet. Great heaven booming metal in twined with sweet gentle breezes. Dave ( on Tina’s IPad )
Fear of an angry planet is one of my personal favourites. It’s sad and sweet. Beautiful music, great lyrics. Awesome harmonies, changes, and transitions.
PT are great, I know you're down the Tool rabbit hole but still more great modern prog bands out there, found PT via Gavin Harrison, guy is a superb percussionist. If you haven't heard them yet, once you get some extra music time maybe check out Animals as Leaders, Tosin Abasi is a mind-blowing guitarist, Javier Reyes is no slouch either -lol
Porcupine Tree are very hit and miss for me, i absolutely adore a few of their songs and the rest is probably good mood music but it's not for me, similar to how a lot of Nine Inch Nails feels experimental. I love the live dvd's as they contain mostly their hits and they're incredible live, i also think their songs get overly produced on the albums and are better live.
Great song with Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth on backing vocals and the haunting, clean guitar solo in the middle.
I found you through your Band Maid reactions but I love PT too. I'm just starting the video as I type and I know you're going to love this.
First time listening to this band. I'm liking the sound so far. Looks like I've got some new exploration to pursue.
How ya feeling so far? Check out "Hand Cannot Erase" album. It's his best imo.
I’m jealous. You get to listen to all of Steven Wilson’s stuff for the first time.
Tool and now PT? You've got some good work lined up! Love the reactions! Recommend Anesthetize (live!) highly!
Porcupine Tree's lives are awesome... They're so great
This song live is MUCH better, from the live album of the same name.....
However, don't forget, the studio version has Alex Lifeson, so listen to them both.....
The genius behind Porcupine is Steven Wilson, and at that time they had Gavin, best drummer in the world!
Now with Pineapple Thief I think? Another band that is ripe for a prog reaction
If you like Tool and Porcupine Tree, another great band is Soen, check out "martyrs".
This track brings me joy and tears. The music composition is outrageously mind blowing. It blends so freakin well together. ❤❤❤That base guitar riff is 🔥🔥🔥It’s the bassist from Opeth. Steven Wilson vocals. Leaves me speechless. Genius. 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Riverside-Second Life Syndrome
Steven Wilson is a genius. The man can do no wrong imo.
Check out Pain of Salvation's song 'King of Loss'. Another genius led project.
Yes, I second this. Don't see enough Pain of Salvation reactions. Great song choice too
PT and steven Wilson are amazing. Tool fan here discovering something new. Thanks
You’ll like them. Check out the album Fear of a Blank Planet. Way different from Tool but if you like Tool I think you’d appreciate Porcupine Tree
Porcupine tree is highly underrated, awesome
Lots of good music.
Riverside-Escalator Shrine
Yeah Riverside are awesome, alot of their songs sound very old school prog. Haken are great too, probably two of my favourite bands right now.
Ok, I'm fucking loving this channel, tool, Mars Volta and now Porcupine Tree
I highly recomend band the Pineapple thief-final thing on my mind, i am shure you will love it. 😎
Great song!

Thanks for the lead.
@@deanwolfechannel Anytime. Hope you have a chance to check them out!
Yes there is one golden rule - P.T. always live ! :)
You should watch there live performances. Excellent stuff
so i hear. will do
Just discovered your channel, love it!
Definitely recommend "Anesthetize" and "Hatesong" by Porcupine Tree. Particularly the live versions, though especially of the latter. Cheers!
I second this. The live version of Hatesong is one of my favorites, especially to see the drummer Gavin Harrison pull all the stops out.
R.I.P Mr Wen-li
By the way, seing that you've done quite a few prog-metal bands, I'd recommend you try Plini. My advice would be to start with either Selenium Forest or Electric Sunrise, but honestly you could start with any of his songs and have a nice experience.
Great suggestion
OOooo I've never heard them either. Thanks for this!
Porcupine Tree are great, they should be more popular than they are
Listen to the live stuff! In my opinion better than the studio.
React to Porcupine Tree//Anesthetize Live
If looking for newer prog-rock releases, you might like "Dethroned & Uncrowned" by Katatonia, or "Weather Systems" by Anathema, or "Snowtorch" by Phideaux. Those are album names.
on my list now, thanks so much and stay tuned!

Do anesthetize live. Also check out animals as leaders, an instrumental 3 piece metal fusion band
This song rocks!!!!!!!! TOOL - FEAR INOCULUM / TOOL - VICARIOUS
Recommend "Anesthetize" and "Hatesong" by Porcupine Tree-the LIVE versions. Also, Gavin Harrison is an elite drummer, Peart was a fan too (wrote the foreword to Gavin's book)...watch any drummer-reaction video about Gavin
Hey, i know you!
@@deanwolfechannel Ha ha, I was looking for more PT material when I saw your video and said "Hey, I know you!"
The all time classic PT song is Linton Samuel Dawson
Riverside second life syndrome. Many Steven Wilson tracks also.

That's great. I am only now paying serious attention. Only a few bands piqued some temporary interest like district 97 for example.
Live its even better!!
I really recommend you to listen to a band called OSI, they are great and very underrated.
I will put it on my list

YOU MUST LISTEN TO --- ANESTHETIZE by Porcupine Tree !
It's a Steven Wilson Masterpiece ❗

Try Diablo Swing Orchestra - Voodoo Mon Amour. It's out there but awesome.
Amazing channel!
Just a couple suggestions
Opeth- Windowpane
Circa survive- Child of the Desert
Mastodon- North Side Star
Haha love all the suggestions, just gonna take a while to get to them all!
I'm about your age. Love what your doing! Why the 2 vids tho? It's hard to go straight to next one sometimes.
Links to part two can always be found in the description box. I split it so I can monetize the video with the reaction where I chat.
By the way the drummer ( Gavin Harrison ) works with king crimson.
Top drummer of the era
Hey Dean.
I’m sure you getting aquatinted with more PT. They are infectious. ( sorry no pun intended ) but what else do we have to do right now except rock out with head phones.
suggestions “ Blackest eyes “
Anesthesti nice drumming and cool tune.
I mean “ even less “
But fear of an angry planet is good too. Great drumming. A great metal tune too.
I’m on the road right now. Working.
I also like “ a slave called shiver “
Great drumming. Awesome smooth writing
“ Youth is wasted on the young “
My ashes is a great too.
Please ract to PT- Bonnie the cat. It would blow Your mind for sure.

PT live man!
Has anyone suggested The Mars Volta...? Check out Teflon.
Yup, look forward to more Mars Volta
Awesome. I was torn on 2 bands to suggest so here goes the other.-Have you heard Pelican? Those guys are so bad ass.
Pelican, no. I will check them out
Anglagard, Vandergraf generator, camel,

PT do sound heavily produced, so I'm looking forward to seeing videos of them live
nice reaction, try Anesthetize ;-)
And according to himself he has little to no knowledge of music theory, he just plays what sounds good :)
Music theory can be handy but really lots of people are born with it naturally
Anesthetize
Yap, time to burn a guitar. It's not about shredding. It's about the composition and melodies.
Totally, a shredder without a good song and a great band to be in is just a shredder
Good video but I wont subscribe because I dont want to watch a seperate video to get your reaction. Nobody else does that
Sometimes I dont but hey, I'm not the CCP and wont report ya
Since you are reaching out, try Stoned Jesus - The Mountain.
That song is incredible! Great suggestion
