  • MAKE BEATS FAST!!!! TUOTRIAL
    This video is the first part in a series that will focus on how to create a Maybach Music vibe. They are seemingly complex beats. What makes them appear that way is there are a ALOT of simple details strung together to make a full beat. In this video we look at how to make a rich, complex, and soulful chord progression to be the basis of our track. Watch the first minute of the video to hear a sample of the beat you will be able to make once you are finished with the series!
    This video is sooooooo much more though. This video will teach yo the ins and outs of how to make Great Sounding Chord Progressions in less than 5 minutes!
    Keep it Simple Don't be Basic

    Good stuff! Sudio One also has a "humanize" feature that allows you to highlight the midi notes, select humanize and then it will randomize the note positions and velocities.

    • @Craftmaster3
      @Craftmaster3  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike Deville Yes humanize is nice for things like hi melodies on piano and guitar, I use it alot. But for drums I like to either use a groove template or go in and do the movements myself, just a personal taste kind of thing. For some reason to my ear the humanize function on kicks and snares makes things sound "off" its porbably me being conditioned to vibe to mpc drums.

  • @antihero5518
    @antihero5518 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Studio One has a "humanize" action (action tab in piano roll view) for MIDI notes, btw. It humanizes both the timing and velocity of the notes with one click of a button. But if you want to adjust it even further just turn off the snap (n), highlight the note/s you want to adjust (in terms of timing) and just nudge them. I think the hot key for it is alt+left/right. If the snap is turned on the notes will move based on the grid you're utilizing (1/16, 1/8, 1/4, etc.) :)

    • @Craftmaster3
      @Craftmaster3  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Humanize is cool for some functions but for things like strumming chords I like to be more deliberate.

    • @antihero5518
      @antihero5518 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Just stating it out there for some just in case they want a quick and dirty function. Props on the tutorials, man, for repping S1. Maybe you could do a tutorial for one of the overlooked features of S1: event fx. woooo

    Brooooo I know this video is old but this taught me so much about chord building, I've always seen videos about this but none of the videos ever broke it down like this before. I'm a programmer producer too, I just don't use Studio One but after watching this, I'm seriously thinking about switching over (because FL just sucks for full song making imo, and I've been using it for years since my friends use it). This was a HUGE help, thank you! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

      @loubez 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bigwig is the only daw I have not tried. How do you like it?

    • @cechu
      @cechu 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Well, after using a demo for a while, I've finally bought it. I Was using Ableton for about 3 years and it has it's cons, that Bitwig solved wery well, for example in the workflow (e.g. between clips and arrangement view - I've never seen this handled so fluent). Also the VST/VSTi handling is much better. It is next-gen indeed, it can handle every VST separately, so the whole DAW won't crash if something goes wrong. The modulation is solved very well. Honestly, it's lackin' a few things for now, but it's growing fast. It was worth every penny, even if it's a new kid in the block.
      Btw., this "scale" thing in Studio One is also cool.

    FL is easier on the Piano Roll to give all the desired effects.
    Good vid but this method of making chords in S1 is not more simple than FL Studio's Stamp Tool. AND as far as the "roll effect" u created - which can be tedious as u mentioned- FL has a Strum Tool to create that and a tool for the velocities.
    But overall i appreciate the vid and the way u broke it down. Good job.

      Easier doesn't always mean better. Here you're actually forced to learn some theory and engineering skills, which will transfer as you move along. The problem with one-click tricks is you never learn, and believe me, that will never transfer. If you're ever lucky enough to get into a real studio with the big boys, you'll be lost.

    • @Craftmaster3
      @Craftmaster3  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is my main beef with FL Studio and why I recommend people to stay away from it. They way that they re name common bread and butter studio tasks is so unprofessional that it doesn't transfer to other DAWs. That's why the majority of people who start in that program always say "I need FL to make a beat" while people from other DAWs can create in any situation.

      Much respect for this video brotha, Im not an experienced piano player, but im comfortable on the keys, and everything you talked about is exactly on point. Minor 7th and 9ths, inversions and how piano players play etc...Because I play a lil bit I never used piano roll for progressions but it gave me great insight on how others who do not play still make great chord progressions. Thats a great way to learn some music theory too.
