The Bubbletop is lookin' good. Thanks for Gary's tip on doing the trim, I backed that part up and watched 3 more times. I need to try that, It always goes bad for me when I try to do it. Thanks for sharing.👍👍
Thanks for sharing the Bare Metal Foil tips as well as showing the different kinds...it's been an ongoing struggle to work with the foil! Your impala is looks good; can't wait to see the finished product!
Heck Mike, I think your foil job looks great! I always struggle with that stuff, and I've been fiddling with it for probably 25 years!! LOL! It's just a royal pain in the ass! I love that color on the Impala! Unique and really kool! Keep up the great work!
I'm starting my journey with the use of BMF. So far it's worked out okay on my first kit, a sharp knife and patience is what helped me. Impala is looking good.
I use the hobby knife to cut it off the sheet and I use a scalpel on the car. I let the blade do the cutting. NO added pressure! Thanks for watching Larry! Happy Sunday ☕😎👍
hi Mike... i am not comfortable doing BMF yet.. but i do have all the packs of BMF you showed..... those bumpers look great... cool trick with the brush.. thx 4 sharing.. vinny
Nice work! I have been using BMF for a long time, occasionally get a bad sheet but overall good. I do notice a difference when trying to foil over bare base coat vs foiling over clear which I get, base doesn't give the foil much to stick to. Looking good here!
A new blade every time helps. I bought scalpel blades just for BMF. You just guide the knife, no pressure. There are great tutorials out there. Happy Sunday ☕😎👍
Man Mike I really like that Impala man the two-tone on that is sweet really like the choice of colors I have a lot of trouble with bare metal foil too nowadays I just use the silver paint pen but on a model that's going to be really great yeah you need that bare metal foil thanks for the show buddy really good one have a great Sunday later Glenn
I used to use BMF for years, And then one day I just decided to stop because it wasn't fun anymore - it was tedious.Sometimes I use a silver Sharpie, but most of the time a chrome pen. You are exactly right on the trim - some of it on a real car is stainless steel - not chrome steel. When I had a 56 Mercury that stainless trim was all over it and you could never buff it out enough to look like chrome (unless you removed it from the car and do it with a power tool - which I did one time before I had it painted). I am not against BMF - it's just something I don't enjoy doing. I need to check out the Greenworld stuff you mentioned 👍
I totally agree about the BMF Bruce! I will definitely use the gem stuff world for the upper bright work whenever I can. Green Stuff World has an airbrush chrome and one you can brush on. If you brush it on make sure it's wet, that's how you achieve the chrome effect. Watch Hanging With Mr. G Seeds tutorial video on his technique. Thanks for watching 😎👍
Hey Mike one Tip I can offer is to take a black sharpie and Darken the Tip of a NEW #11 blade this way you can see what your cutting a little better, Gary is a great guy / Painter
Very nice tips and techniques to use with Bare Metal Foil. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Michael! Happy Sunday ☕😎👍

Thanks for the bmf tips, Mike. I'll use molotow markers to touch up areas where the bmf tears, instead of pulling it all off and starting over.
