Thanks. I’m still loving it. I see PA14s come up more often than PA12’s but they are usually $1800-2500 and in great shape still. Now is the best time since the new 2019 Outback hype is going on and I’ve heard quite a few people talking about selling their PA’s to get the new Outback. I’m keeping mine. Besides Craigslist also look on OfferUp.
GetOutTheHouseGoFish thanks!! I think I’m going to need to wait a while, money’s a bit tight at the moment...plus we live in New York so I wouldn’t be able to use it much anyway for the next 5-6 months since it’s turning cold fast.
Im surprised people don't tow a innertube with the cooler in it, to save space. Floating down the river in innertubes we would do that. Awesome hobby. Stay safe
Hobies hold their value really well. As long as it’s been taken care of the 2014 PA is still a great kayak. I actually sold my 2014 PA12 and bought a 2019 PA14 this past year.
I did a demo on the oasis tandem. I think you would like the Compass Duo much better. I did a demo on it too. Compass Duo Pros: It’s cost less You have more room for storage/cooler More stable / you can stand easily If your heavier the back doesn’t sit as low in the water like in the oasis. Compass Cons: You don’t have steering in the front (only the rear person can steer) Oasis pros: Has front and rear steering Cons: more expensive than the Compass Tandem Not as much space as the compass Not as stable when trying to stand
@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish I just saw price on compass duo here in Australia for $4230, I'm buying a second hand hobie oasis tandem double kayak for half the price.
Your story sounds familiar. I bought a 2017 camo edition Outback this last April, and likewise, I found a 2014 Pro Angler 12 on craigslist and bought it after selling two of my other kayaks. I've only used my new outback only once since then. I let my wife and friends use it now. Check out the modification I made to my PA 12, th-cam.com/video/zgf9cIQznLg/w-d-xo.html
Great review and paddle drives are hard work when the currents are running
Definitely recommend pedal drives or add a trolling motor with the currents in some areas here in NE Florida.
Wife had the “what the heck are you up to now” look 😂
Beautiful Hobie! I love the bone color, personally.
Man if I could find a PA for that price I’d be thrilled!

I'm still trying to decide PA 12 or 14. nice boat!
Yaknation Thanks. I am thankful I was able to get it. Never thought I'd have a Hobie but now that I do I love them. Great kayaks.
Would love to see a video of you loading both the PA12 and the outback into your truck. I’m thinking about a similar setup.
I do have one loading both. I’ll send it in a bit. I’m currently returning from being out on the water.

How did you put the wiring through for your battery
Here is the video I did when I installed my previous fish finder on my PA12

great buy
I just bought a used one 3d at a ago for only $200. It’s in great condition . Gonna add a trolling motor
That’s a steal of a deal
What size yeti is that you have
It’s 20. So far I haven’t needed to upsize.
Still getting the job done 👍
Do you think a 2014 would be a good buy in 2023

@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish it’s between that and a 2022 wilderness recon, but the hobie is decked out and the recon is only a paddle
gonna dmg your mirage drive in place like that and dragging the boat man. bad idea
the fins are flapped up but yes it still can damage it
How much did you buy it for?

I'm buying a hobie oasis tandem double kayak with peddles easier for me and family.
