  • THIS INFO IS AS OF JULY 25, 2024, AT 3:06 AM AND NOT THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION
    INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 7.25.24 | 3:06 AM
    LOCATION: Cohasset Rd
    AREA/CITY: Chico
    DETAILS:
The Park fire in Chico continues to show extreme fire behavior throughout the night and has ripped through 45,549 acres in 12 hours.
The size of the fire was officially mapped and announced as of 3:06 AM
Multiple homes, Including several mansions, have been completely destroyed.
Propane tanks could be heard venting and exploding throughout the neighborhood, along with the sound of dozens of ammunition going off within the structures.
Many trees are on the verge of collapsing across roads, and many others have already fallen, causing access problems that were already an issue.
Cohasset Rd has been ground zero for some of the most dangerous fire behavior within the incident.
Firefighters have constantly been cut off from accessing the town of Cohasset; however, last night, they were able to access the trapped residents and get escorted out of the fire zone to safety.
Many structures on the fire's west side are tucked within a canyon where the most extreme fire behavior has been seen.
We have been pushed out of the area by the fire with only seconds to spare before becoming trapped ourselves.
Due to the dangerous fire behavior, we have been unable to access some of the communities due to extreme heat and poor visibility.
The fire started Wednesday afternoon around 3 pm and quickly exploded due to extreme heat and wind.
It was only a matter of hours before the fire reached 1500 acres and began creating its own weather conditions.
Powerful inflow and outflow winds have pushed the fire in all directions, making the fire unpredictable.
At 6500 acres, Incident command has requested 30 strike teams of engines and many more resources, and more resources continue to show up.
Cavalries of Dozer trailers are funneling in also.
The fire continues to spot up to a mile ahead, making the fire edge deceiving and the dangers of entrapment very real.
No further details are available at this time.

Nice footage! It really shows how bad it gets at 5% humidity with a warm wind in that country.... I've witnessed a tow chain spark start a fire, it frightening how flammable it can get in the foothills

Bullshit! The Air National Guard should have flown more air tankers and used firefighting foam (PFAS free) to stop this fire. The government doesnt care what happens or they would unleash the full force of the Armed Services on this and every major wildland fire in the U.S.

Right. If that’s even it and not a cover story. There are elements to this disaster that possibly directly linked to Newsom and /or democrat politics- illegal alien encampments start fires, the “green lobbyists” who prevent forest management and back burning, mismanagement /allocation of state funds for fighting fires etc etc but so many residents insist on using their feelings over their brains and voting for these idiots.

What are you talking about? The guy will get life in prison, he already had two strikes before this. Now he's facing arson with special circumstances. No way this guy ever sees the outside of a prison again. Which is probably good for him because I assume he'd be lynched in Chico if people saw him there.

I lost a home in the campfire and it was quite traumatic. In my case though the home was empty at the time. I can't imagine what it's like to lose your home and all of your possessions. Due to the insurance crisis here in California some of these homes are bound to be uninsured. Just a couple days before this fire I was looking at an investment property up in Forest ranch and I noticed a lot of for sale signs probably due to the outrageous cost of insurance.

you have to be rich enough to afford to replace your home if you live in the mountains in California. Don't even think about having insurance anymore because the cost is a joke.

At the 5:00 mark he comments "OH MAN I GOT SPOT FIRES EVERWHERE!" So apparently red fire retardant has no effect on the spread of spot fires. The only reason they use it is to cash in on the sale of the chemical. Oh and it looks sooooo cool when it drops out of an airplane.... and then does nothing to stop the fire from spreading.

They say the fire was started by one person,
and the "Fire Tornado" you can see,
who started it? Was it also started by the same person?
Anyone can start a fire, but: What person can make
a fire consume 5,000 acres in an hour?
Only the "Laser Fire Machine" can do it.
