I’m pretty happy with this first episode. I’ve read all of the books ( Percy as well as the other books from Riordan) and this is much more accurate than the films so far. At least the actors are the correct ages.
It’s so cool to see people who weren’t into the books see the show! Btw, there are only 2 movies- and they were not at all accurate to the books. The first one was fine as it’s own thing, but not as an adaptation- the show so far is much more faithful! Yes, they are supposed to be 12 years old (:
Yes, they are meant to be 12. The series' story is based around a prophecy that tells about a 16 year old demigod, so the characters progress through the 5 novels from ages 12 to 16 and trust me, the movies were so far off from the novels, its like they were actively trying to sabotage them. In fact, they were so bad that the author sent them like a 12 page email just ripping into the script and how bad it was and how far off it was from the novels, and he even called them out on not reading further than the lightning thief, which is very obvious if you know the overarching plots
@@ethanclarkreacts for more context she gets him blue food because Gabe told her in the books that it was dumb and that food doesn't come in blue. So she spends all her time giving Percy all sorts of blue colored treats and stuff. To prove a point. And so Percy and blue food makes him feel connected to his mom.
Excited to see your journey with this story! You will recognize some things from the movie, but only the broad strokes. The movies took quite a different approach to the source material, whereas this show was co-written by the author of the books, Rick Riordan. I'm glad you're having fun watching it. It's only going to get more and more epic as time goes on!
I’m so happy that is going to be more to how the books were and that is so excited as I’ll be surprised by so much more. I honestly can’t wait till the next episode

Unlike the movies, the author was involved in the creative process and casting of the show.
It was amazing to see it with actors the right ages for the roles 😊
Percy is meant to be 12 in the first book!
5:42 Fun fact. If you slow down that scene, you can see the water was bent to pull her into the fountain.

I am so glad to hear how accurate to the books it is. Makes it more exciting to watch 😊
I'm honestly so excited to see someone who's never read the books watching the show! As a lover of the books I've been loving it so far!
Going into without any knowledge can always be so fun because I am so ready to be surprised by everything 😊
Satyrs age half as fast as humans, so Grover is mentally twelve years old, just like Percy!
Oh that’s so interesting thanks for letting me know

I'm glad to see you're so excited too! I've loved the early episodes so far.
They are just so much fun
Ohh I love to see reactions of people who haven't read the books!!
