I'm 69 and had 10 years wearing the badge. My partner and I still watched Adam 12 with him daily ...... my partner stands 6-6 is a German Sheppard K9 named YETI.
I joined the LAPD in the 1970’s the first black and white I drove was a 1974 AMC Matador. I my opinion the show did a very good job of depicting how police officers conducted themselves on a day to day basis. I got to meet Kent Mc Cord in the late 1970’s I found him to be a friendly and cordial person.
@@MakeMyDayPunk1992 If you’re talking about the 1970’s patrol officers and detectives were only allowed to use the revolver. Only specialize units like SWAT were allowed to use semiautomatics ( 1911). The department switched to semiautomatics in 1986.
Outstanding, Adam 12 was cancelled 44 years ago in 1975. Great to see still so many fans of the show. I watched it when I was a kid every week. Still watch it, love it.
The reason I became a police cadet and a sheriff deputy for 34 years. I tried every day to be honorable like these two characters. One piece of trivia, Kent McCord became a reserve officer with LAPD and was a captain. Living the job.
My sister-in-law’s brother lives near San Diego. His and the Milner family were friends. Marty’s wife and daughter attended their wedding. Marty couldn’t make it as by that time he had a very popular fishing show on local radio and there was a scheduling conflict.
RIP Martin Milner/Officer Pete Malloy. Growing up in the 90's, I wasn't around during the original airing of Adam-12. I find it entertaining to see what it was like back then. Things certainly seemed simpler. Things seemed a lot different back then, compared to now, but many other things seem to have stayed the same. Thank you for this tribute to such a great show.
Jack Webb had a very special talent for telling the stories of law enforcement. He did his homework. Not only for Dragnet and Adam-12, either. He created O'Hara: U.S. Treasury, and Hec Ramsey. Hec Ramsey has the feeling of the motion picture that introduced Mr. Webb to forensics and the science for law enforcement . I wonder what his thoughts would be on about today's science and the use of forensics?
They could have been real cops, they had compassion and helped people. To serve and protect. Glad I have the complete set of DVDs. Reed was a pup, Mallory the season dog taught him the ropes. Most of the time he listened by once in a while he'd branch out and do his own thing only to be corrected by Mallory pointing out the obvious why it was a stupid move even if Reed help capture the bad guy. I still love you both. RIP officer Mallory (Martin) ❤️
Amazing, this gave me chills.., I absolutely love it. These guys were my heroes when I was a child, and I still love them.they are reason I wanted to become a police officer.
Ten years of wearing the badge for me. BA in Law Enforcement. July 15, 1985 Midnight, End of my Watch and on to 38 years of flying planes for a living.
When cops were cops...sharp uniform, short hair, clean shaven, no beards. No tattoos. Did my 30 yrs, my trainer always said..look good, look sharp, fake it if u must.

For people who don’t understand…cops get closer to their partner than to anyone else. They depend on each other to get to go home at night. Adam 12 was perfect…showed the beginning of a rookie cop’s career…and showed them growing as damned good partners. The one line that I will always remember when Reed was taken hostage, the SWAT lieutenant asked Malloy “How’s he handling it.” Malloy paid Reed the highest compliment one cop can pay to another. “He’s a damned good cop.” Old timers out will understand exactly what I mean

There will never be another Adam-12

I live a block away from the station I saw them film the tracking shots coming out of the drive way
Tell me please, did LAPD use only revolvers as sidearms then? Didn't they use Colt 1911 or any other semi-automatics?

When I was a kid first driving, we looked for Sneaky Pete aka a cop

This show almost single-handedly cemented my desire as a young man to become a police officer a dream which came to pass and led to a 23-year career
Jim & Pete make a great team together, glad they were best friends!
Never missed it - every Saturday night.
This show showed ordinary police officers as they are. The good and the bad.
Nice video

Great Job! Very,Very Well Done!
Did ya see Reed's first day where Malloy explains what a police car is?
I would have said "... a future taci cab ?"
Love it! I didn't think you could beat "One Friend". This one ties with it. "Love me some Adam-12"
Every time I watch this video, I see clips that I hadn't seen before. It always amazes me that the series is timeless.❤❤❤
There are 1000s who became officers because of Adam 12 including me

The lousy pay of a police officer discouraged me from following such a path. LA was crime laden even back then.
I want to know who sang this song .this is who we are
The song "Who We Are" is performed by the Irish boy band Boyzone. The official video is available on TH-cam.
