I think my star is starving he climbs the glass every day i read somewhere that means they are looking for new food places. Great to see you are active again!!!! (you said my comment in the video commented too soon.)
You said salinity or 1.023-1.025 (although I think 1.024-1.026 might be better). However the writing on the side says 1.020-1.025. I think anything below 1.023 would likely kill any invertebrates.
Hey Brock!! I was wondering some great hardy fish (I’m a beginner) for a 55 gallon reef!! I have a pink spotted goby, a pair of ocellaris clownfish, and a coral beauty angel! I was thinking of a yellow tang! Any other suggestions for my tank or is that enough fish?! Thanks!!
Ethan Barker That all sounds great! That’ll get you to 5. Normally I say a fish every ten gallons, but if you wanted to add a couple more you could. Cardinals, Pseudochromis, and basslets are some other hardy fish that are easy to take care of.
My sand sifter started climbing glass n that's when I gave some chopped shrimp but he ignored n somehow fell off. Do u spot feeding them making sure they're not starving? BTW I have 3 hermit crabs who constantly hungry n they will pick all the leftover food
@@BrockLeonard I did. But he completely ignored the food, its a chopped shrimp with garlic. I'm afraid it will starve, coz the first one I got I believe he was starving as he climbed up the glass for 2 days n slowly died the next day. I don't want to loose another sand sifter 😩. I have done my research though it says they r easy to keep 😭
Hey Brock I just bought a new star fish and when it was delivered to me, one of it's legs were detached, it was inside the packet, probably damaged while shipping after I acclimated it for close to two hours I put it in and it goes inside sand immediately.. but after few hours it has detached all it's legs or limbs, still moving around the tank but it has very little limbs left, just the middle disk portion It has been 8 hour plus and it's still moving and detaching limbs Will it survive and have ne anything wrong ??
Love your videos man! Very informative and concise
Eric Plude Thank you for watching dude!
This fish looks so amazing black and yellow
Thank you for sharing this video🤗

Is he still alive?
How long do I acclimate
Why would our sand star be up on all legs in a bent form. Like his body raised up off the ground and all his legs on the bottom
Omg I am so glad you brought up the python! I hope I remember to move him before I vac the sand!
Ive done a lot of research and most people say they are very hard to keep
My sifting sea star lost her leg is she going to die? Or can she heal?
They will heal, a lot of times the leg doesn’t full grow back, but will heal the wound itself.
Great info. Answered my exact questions
So glad I could help! Thanks for watching.
Are they poisonous to humans?
no, would not eat them though
@@BrockLeonard yeah for for care level
will they help with green algea on sand bed?
Victor Carrillo a lot of times they will go directly under the sand first but eventually they tend to get to it
I'm thinking about get a sand swifting starfish but I have a yellow coris wrasse will the starfish bother the wrasse when its buried?
They might run into each other on rare occurrences, but nothing harmful.
Love Starfish 😊
Will they eat cleaning shrimp and urchin
great video series brother !
So glad you came by to watch!
I have ine in my 40G breeder, and it buried itself in the sand.
They do a killer job

Not really. Clibarnarius species like Blue/Red Leg Hermits do venture off in brackish water such as Clibanarius vittatus.
@@calamari.jaksun8914 lots can thrive in hot high salinity waters - think tidal pools
the sand don't seem to be the finest, what size is each pellet?
Rogal Dorn some as small as .5mm to about 3mm
Do they work in gravel?
William MacLeod They normally have to have a fine sand bed for them to burrow in.
You say care level is easy, i keep reading people saying they wipe out all of your good bacteria and end up harming your tank
I need to get one of these my detritus is out of control.

Gabriel Lopez yes!😀

Luna 117 holy cow!
I got millions of them

Liked your videos. Also, really like the summary from care level to water parameters. Intro. to your videos bit hard to get through though ;o)
Roger Andout haha😂 thank you so much for watching!!

Clorox Bleach set him on the sand on top of a tiny tiny piece of shrimp and see if he’ll eat it.

Clorox Bleach Have you done a complete water test on your tank? Check everything. Especially salinity.
@@BrockLeonard I did. Water parameters look fine. Looks like he's gonna die if he doesn't take up the food I offered 😔
Clorox Bleach dang it. Just let em be. Heck maybe he just really wants that algae on the glass.
These guys are great, I have 2.
They can't live in a 1 gallon though. (Every aquarium creature.)
I got a pet starfish in my 35 gallon yesterday.
@john chandler Yes. You can.

Crazy. I paid 30$ a piece yesterday. 😢
Same 😂
Why?
@@zackrain9174 what they cost in San Antonio sadly
My starfish definitely surpassed 3 inches. He's about 5-6 inches now.
DANG!
Sg best 1.030😃
