Thanks Brock. Every time I have a question about something even if I have watched your videos already I come back to them and watch them again and again.
They will grow towards the light. Growing up back of a tank is cool. I have some that create a ball and others on stax rocks that are like a perfectly flat lawn.
I love my GSP! it covers almost all my rocks, and my back of the tank. Looks like gorgeous grass all over the tank and all my fish just play in it all day.
Agreed, and now that I have it covering so much, it pulls all the extra nutrients out and I have no algae problems. Maybe a great choice for a refugium as well to pull out extra nutrients from a tank.
Had a discussion with a shop owner he found this in some of his client tanks and I also found it in my tank where I have no leather corals and three different types of gsp. Yellow, green, and dark green in close proximities seems two are always out at a time and one is always retreated rare to find all 3 out together. Both of us wondered if it could be some strange chemical warfare. Also noticed when all 3 come out, happens a lot with new carbon every 3 months.
Just added a $30 rock today and put him on an island. Added him around 5:00pm - 5:30pm and he’s opening up now nicely around midnight (it’s now 1:45am). It seems pretty happy where he is. My tank cleaner and coral specialist (broken foot) will also bring me an RBTA as well.
Hey Brock can I ask you something? Can I use your thumbnails from your all about video? I want to create videos just like you but I don’t know really know how to do it well. Any tips?

Thanks for all the info. I have consolidated a 32 Biocube down to a 12.5 nano and a 2.5 pico. The Biocube was established for about 8 years and went down to the nano/ pico 2 years ago when we sold our house and moved aboard our yacht. HTTYD Gacha I’ve seen gobies do great together in nano reefs. I’d try to add all three at the same time if possible, because it will allow for less aggression over territory.
Yo man i have gsp growing on my back wall right, my wavemaker is pushing the gsp to the left only and theres no swaying back and forth. Been like that for a year and the 2 inch frag grew to like 8 inches by 8 inches. So it looks like its growing fine but was wondering if one way flow will hurt it in the long run?
They actually like medium to strong light + high nutrients. If they don't open up in your tank, something is bothering them probably, like, touching other corals, or even amphipods eating them from bellow.
When it comes to night time lighting. Should you turn of the light completely, or use blue light for your green star polyps? My GSP’s get about 8hrs of white and blue light everyday.
Just got a new shipment from worldwidecorals including a green star, a waving hand anthelia, green/gold hammer/ and red gorgonia. Also got a bunch of coral last week. Its addicting
@@rustybennineoneonemajesty you can trim them back and frag them pretty easily, there’s videos on how to do it. For the other question I don’t have an answer.
Can you cut bits off with scissors and throw in bin or do you give extra to pey't shop is it a pet fish or a plant, how do care for it when it grows too big for tank
I would use scissors to cut it whenever it grows too big. It’s very strong and adapts well to the fragging/healing process. It’s a coral, so it technically is living.
The blue eye tang we have (Ctenochaetus binotatus) has lost all yellow in it’s tail and it’s fins are a tan colour it now looks like a Kole tang without the yellow eye and instead blue eye, is that normal for it to loose it’s yellow immediately after going in an aquarium it’s yellow starts fading to tan/blackish colour and a week later it’s fully blackish/tan

Back to my question. I’ve noticed if the white and blue lights are both on it’s starting to come out but if I turn on just the blue lights what has started to come out goes away. Is that normal or what should I do
I have a Corallife BioCube, and I have not been able to determine the light type or strength on it, and am interested in knowing what kind they are, their strength, and if it is worth upgrading it at some point or not. Please let me know. Thank you.
You'd be surprised, the BioCube lighting is very good for growing corals. Brains, LPS, GSP, Mushrooms, and much more. If you wanted to get into SPS corals, that is when I would look into upgrading.
Fragging is a big one, but if it’s stuck to the rocks too hard to frag, sometimes replacing rocks is an option. The other is growing things around it that will sting it and keep it at bay haha

They’ll overtake your tank quickly.
Everyone says this but unless I'm running my tank very poorly they don't spread as nearly as fast as everyone says.
You can keep them isolated fairly easily, give them their own rock to encrust on that has no other rock nearby and the GSP won’t leave their rock.
