  • Open mic discussion with security leaders at Fortune 1. During this session, Walmart's CISO and deputy CISO will discuss their opinions and ideas about the next generation of IT security.

    Jerry Geisler is the global chief information security officer of Walmart and is responsible for ensuring the security of data encompassing the company’s 275+ million weekly customers and 2.2 million associates worldwide. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the company’s security and data center operations, information security strategy and risk, engineering, governance and compliance.
    Under Jerry’s leadership, Walmart’s information security program has become renowned as a forward-thinking industry leader focused on emerging best-in-class information security practices, innovation and business enablement.
    Jerry is a regular contributor to the information security industry through frequent speaking engagements and contributions to industry papers and publications. He serves on the advisory board Team 8’s venture capital fund and is a committee member of the Executive Security Action Forum. He also participates in Microsoft’s CSO Council, the Security for Business Innovation Council, the FBI’s InfraGard and Security 50. He previously served as an advisory board member of the National STEM Consortium and is currently an adjunct professor with the Donald G. Soderquist Graduate School of Business at John Brown University.
    Jerry is a United States Marine Corps veteran. He earned a Bachelor of Science in organizational management, a master’s degree in leadership and ethics and an MBA from John Brown University. He also holds several technical security certifications and an executive education certificate in cybersecurity from the Harvard Kennedy School.

    Adam Ely is an entrepreneur and technology executive who founded a security product company and held leadership roles with several Fortune 100 companies. Adam is currently vice president and deputy chief information security officer with Walmart. Prior to this role he co-founded Bluebox Security, was the CISO of Salesforce's Heroku business unit, and led security and compliance at TiVo and The Walt Disney Company.
    In addition to his current role, he has served as an advisor to companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 on operations, go to market strategy, and technology, and is an advisor to Florida State University.

    I’m 22 and I have my eyes set for the future. One days I plan to be amongst you guys, even if it takes years. I’m going to stick with this company because I work in a warehouse and everyone there is so thoughtful and understanding. Amazing company, amazing people.
