As a kid back in 2002, I always thought that this was the most well-made game I've ever played, I'm still in awe when I see it. Sure, the graphics don't hold up nowadays, but back then, it was magic, and the gameplay's intricacies is commendable.
I guess the reason Shinja betrays Kenji is because he's super vague about what he wants. Shinja serves Kenji because he wants Kenji to rebuild the Serpent clan. But the way Kenji acts shows no interest in doing so. That is why Shinja is fed up with all of the myths and fantasies about dragons. So he decided to rebuild himself. If only Kenji is more honest about what he wants, Shinja wouldn't have done that.
That is true. Kenji was pretty vague on his interests especially involving the fate of the Serpent clan; especially when all he did was chase down myths, legends and stories of the Dragon. I don't think he'd betray Kenji but he would just leave him since the beginning if Kenji was straightforward with is goal.
I agree because Shinja is so loyal with the Serpent Clan, he just wants to restore its former glory and not really interested in Kenji's agenda to find the dragon and redeem his family's name.
First Serpentholm mission was the first really hard one to beat for me... Also I always hated that you cant get both Garrin & Arah, you always had to choose one of the 2, or the worst option 3d province which wouldn't give you any hero. Despite Kenji saying at the start that hes Serpent like his father, I actually think that the game was modeled for Dragon clan, and it was also a harder way to defeat the game since main enemies were Lotus (which were the most powerful clan). If you choose Serpent to finish the game & fight the Wolf, the ending seems not fulfilled. Dragon all the way!

Yea, the Dragon path was tailored specifically for Kenji. It's established story-wise that Kenji had always been "different" from his father and most members of the Serpent clan. And yea, its harder bec. the Dragon clan's weakness is Lotus' magic (in general).
What if This campaign is "The legend of Kenji" And it's widely spread that he is one with the Dragon But the reality is he rebuild the Serpent clan and ruled the land by force And he never met the Dragon that's why he said "The Dragon was only a myth" To back this theory up even more here's what I found *In Grayback's Journey Utara and Budo were defeated by The wolf That explains on why Utara was with the wolf and as for Budo it seems likely that he joined them as well... You can find him after the swan's pool mission and it seems like he joined them as well... He was pretty safe there until he followed Kenji *Grayback was missing in the Dragon's campaign while in the Serpent's campaign every Zen Leaders were present (Correct me if I'm wrong tho... I didn't encounter Grayback in the Dragon's campaign) *On the riverside it's extremely Head scratching on how Vetkin was able to lock Garrin for so long and his people didn't seemed to wonder (ofc they just trust vetkin because he's Garrin's messenger but No one wondered why he simply didn't go out and it seems really questionable that he just left his people For Kenji *In the Dragon's spire mission... If you're on the Serpent you can see that the corpses were from the Dragon clan (Which makes sense because they worship the Dragon) While on the Dragon's campaign the Lotus were there which makes no sense... If they knew that the Dragon exist they won't go there in the first place ( it's also possible that they don't believe in the Dragon) *Not enough detail on how they simply get the orb in the Dragon's campaign all we know is the Dark just gave it to the Lotus without question... While in the serpent clan they Even questioned him and The Dark threatened them that he might give it to the lotus *Otomo's betrayal makes sense while Shinja's don't... Shinja wanted to build an empire and he simply betrayed Kenji for being weak minded (He wants to rebuild the clan but Kenji doesn't want to... He can still rule the land even if it's no longer the serpent... Instead he joined the Lotus that would eventually just make him a puppet) While Otomo wanted to protect his people and his motives are completely justified And lastly (This is mainly base on my opinion) The serpent's ending was much more realistic... Kenji didn't need any superpowers... That's just my theory Disagree if you want... I know that there are sites out there that suggest that Kenji is the Dragon and stuff... But I'm sticking to my theory because like I said the serpent ending didn't require kenji to go super saiyan xD

Because the character of the Kenji that we chose earlier, whether it's Shinja or Otomo will betray us because they can't stand Kenji's decision and stubborn nature, And you said that on our mission to meet the dragon there is a lotus clan, it's not strange, because it's either an expansion of the lotus clan or they are necromancers. So when on the dragon mountain in the Serpent story, why don't we meet dragons? That's because we as Kenji have killed a lot of innocent people That's why we meet the Necromancer instead, and not because the dragon is a myth and also if you look at the conversation between Nightvol and Zymeth he Nightvol said that the Dragon was with Kenji which means that Nightvol acknowledged the existence of the dragon And if you look at 32:36 seconds the conversation between Kenji in Serpent Story is cut even though it has the same dialogue as Dragon Story this explains my initial reason that everything that happens depends on Kenji's character and decisions from the start of the game Whether it's Kenji being a good person unlike his father or being selfish and more evil than his father, And also you said that Kenji doesn't need superpowers to defeat the Nightvol monster, now try to go back to the conversation between the Dragon and Kenji that the Orb's power exists because they believed in it and Tarrant did it as well as Kenji,and one more thing why there is no Grayback or other wolf heroes because Kenji doesn't want to kill many other people like I explained at the beginning, well after all both stories are canon but if you say that the story that the Dragon is never existed is why you are wrong.

Welp good game..I know this late but as Dragon clan, you can farm Yang points pretty easily if you do mass Kabuki's with firework enchantments. Round them up in center enemy army, use fireworks (they pretty weak by this time, fireworks bypass all kind of resistance) and you see your Yang going up. As for serpent, I usually do Yin blade from Ronin and attack the trees, can farm Yin easily.
Dragon path as always. Kenji doing serpent path totally destroys his character who's being "different from my father". And the ending of serpent path totally has uncertain future because the hordes are still alive unlike the dragon who restored the peace throughout the Oja's land
If u choose ninja, u can also have Tao. In the final map, buy Tao and u can buy 6 ninjas. Move 6 ninjas move with their skill "invisible" to Zymeth camp and assasinate her. With that stagegy, u can finish this map so easily. :)

i was stuck in the last level for so long because every level i chose was against lotus.. i ended having only kenji and monks for heroes it was soooo hard :))

Instead of Garrin I would choose Arah, instead of Gaihla I would choose Soban (Lotus province) since he can create more golems to work and finally I would choose ninjas because I can get Tao too.

She's just disappointed with some greedy Wolf miners that are destroying the environment, those miners are probably not Grayback's friends as Grayback might also disapprove those mining activities. You can also recruit Soban, a Lotus hero, in this Dragon campaign if you choose to attack the Lotus province after the Serpentholm stage instead

now im 13 years old and i play battle realm when i primry school and always play in skrismis and now i finished all serpent, dragon, and wolf journeys i have fineshed lot of them so i finally understand of the battle realms story
wherever i played this i rushed Lotus too, but i based somewhere else, and just tortoised on Serpent Home since it's very easy to def. Rushing Geishas is just genious, never thought of that
The key to mastering this game is to use hotkeys and manage your troops and know how to position them, plus you need to know how to use your heroes effciently. Take for example, Koril. Koril is very OP when it comes to siege. Range units have a low percentage of hitting him, hence it would be good to let him stand infront of a tower to let the unit on the tower focus on him, while you try to burn the tower down with your other units. Kenjie is very powerful, if you can regenerate his stamina while on standbymode.

We know that Dragon clan are rebels of Serpent Clan. But their buildings and setup are cleaner, modern and feels much richer than Serpent clan as if the Serpent is the rebels of the main dragon clan 🤣

i attacked lotus after the meet with the secret ninja and i have been roaming the whole map and i cant find the enemies even though i have almost beaten every base of them. any tips?
I used to play this game as a kid but I couldn't get past the mission with the fire breathing dude, after playing it again a few months ago and finishing it, I never realized how absolutely ridiculous and stupid the story is, the best part is that it's trying to make the tone serious which just made it hilarious as fuck.

I like using chemists when I use the dragon clan. I find them more effective than archers when destroying buildings and they're language is funnier :D

We know that Dragon clan are rebels of Serpent Clan. But their buildings and setup are cleaner, modern and feels much richer than Serpent clan as if the Serpent is the rebels of the main dragon clan 🤣

Just finished dragon's path In 2hours
I used to play this game as a kid but I couldn't get past the mission with the fire breathing dude, after playing it again a few months ago and finishing it, I never realized how absolutely ridiculous and stupid the story is, the best part is that it's trying to make the tone serious which just made it hilarious as fuck.
