People are saying how "Andrealphus isn't manipulating her!" or "He sees the big picture!", but in reality Stella is already rich. She doesn't really want Stolas stuff (at least, not THAT badly). It's Andrealphus that makes her think she wants it!
Andrealphus here is definitely a villain who thinks of the bigger picture while Stella is just small, petty, and very much doesn't grasp the big picture.
Which makes sense really. Andrealphus as a Marquis is in charge of border control in hell, so that could be one of the reasons why he has such a logical "get most in any situation" mindset. While Stella has a princess type personality, so it makes sense for her to act like this.

Would you really call it manipulation, he’s just stating the obvious. They already have an heir, everything that Stolas owned will go to Octavia. Andraphlus is stating the obvious and telling Stella to be smart.
Maybe, but why wouldn’t they just use Octavia’s grief to manipulate her into doing what they want? I mean Stella would be Octavia’s only parent alive and could use that to her advantage.
Notice how Stella was still casually drinking her tea when he mentioned Octavia's inheritance, & only reacted AFTER he said that she (Stella) would get nothing
I like that Andrealphus is an actual threat. He's smart enough to know that killing Stolas is the wrong path, and has enough sense over Stella to get her to not kill him. It sounds like he's played a long game before, and now I'm curious what exactly he's been up to while we focused on everyone else. He knows the Goetia's don't usually "act" like Stolas has, but he has plans around it. I need more Andrealphus. For right now he sounds like a way more plausible villain, and I absolutely love it.
He actually reminds me alot of who I thought Stolas would be when I first saw him on the Pilot. Very similar voice, but more methodical. Almost like he's determining every possible move to a chess game.
I loved the voice acting for them, it gets their personalities across well. Also, I love them beating in the fact that, Stella isn't some intelligent and vengeful villain. Stella is literally just a very rich, very powerful, spoiled brat.
I like that Andrea does not treat his sister so badly and that you really feel a better relationship between them. like a parent who spoils his child, although he considers her stupid, but still helps to achieve the desired
The man is barely on the screen 3 minutes and already he’s turning out to be one of my favorite characters. And he’s one of the more competent members of Stella’s family so that just makes him very lethal indeed
Agreed. He also possesses ice magic so he's likely strong as well. According to lore, Stolas is higher ranked than Andrealphus (Prince vs. Marquis) but they're both very knowledgeable in astronomy. Stolas also specializes in plants and rare stones, while Andrealphus specializes in cunning and geometry.
I think so. Its her brother pushing all this. If she didn't care about her daughter she would have been mad as hell when Andrealphus pointed this out to her. Stella is a very reactive person who doesn't hesitate to show her anger or disgust.
Actually, you're onto something. Stella's not concerned to get anything out of Stolas, she just wants him dead. This can be supported by this conversation and the fact that in the opening, she was just angrily lashing out at Stolas than rather trying to victimise herself to get whatever she could out of Stolas. If she did want something out of Stolas but proceeded to kill Stolas, then Andre would have a very valid point. But I think Andre's the only one here who is trying to take anything from Stolas.
@@akiumzeno if I could add my own two cents onto your observation (which I agree with on every aspect), I don’t think Stella is flat out ignoring the bigger picture by being ok with Via getting everything after Stolas’s death, rather she expects Via to give her what ever she wants by proxy of being her mother, not even considering the possibility of Via refusing because she was hardly a mother to her or that she could make her life a living hell if she found out Stella hiring the hit man that killed Stolas.
I think she probably thought nothing of it or is underestimating how much Via loves her father. So she assumes that naturally after he dies Via will just let her mom play regent for her. A lot of parents tend to play “Oh they’ll never leave me. I’m their parent and I raised them!” Till they actually get no-contact from the very kid they mistreated/neglected and they drop and go “How could my baby do this to me after all this years!”. It’s pretty common…
Everyone is bitching about how they made her have an immature personality, and yet they forget she was literally like that the FIRST SEASON. She threw things at him the moment she found out, in a tantrum way She planned an assassin over it and even threw a fit when Striker didn't succeed. Y'all. She was like this from the START.
Considering the fact that Octavia is very popular in the fandom i HIGHLY doubt that Vivzie would allow killing her off Remember Stephen King's "Misery"? Now imagine that it's not just one crazy lunatic but the whole freaking army of them.
I don’t think he was, the fact that Andrealphus refers to Octavia as Via implies that he’s a uncle who feels a certain degree of fondness for his niece.
The thing is, Stella doesn't care. She, personally is already rich. She just wants to go back to throwing parties and gossiping with friends over tea It's Frost Peacock that wants political clout.
I noticed how you made a couple incest jokes. It's sorta..been implied since the beginning that the Goetia family are incestual. Stolas and Stella could most likely be cousins..
Oh, he will. I have a feeling we're going to learn that he's been manipulating her since she was born... and her childhood was as miserable as Stolas's.
Lol both Out of context, Andrealpheus as apparently the head of his and Stella’s branch of the Goetia family as Marquis, the official title he has in rl demonology Andrealpheus has his own title and role in service of the Goetia Family, as apparently at least over 72 Goetia demons With titles In rl demonology there’s over 72 named demons of the Ars Goetia In Helluva Boss. It’s implied that the 72 named Goetias have their own family lines, all originated from Paimon as the father of them all So there’s 72 houses or branches of the Goetia family tree Over time they marry, and produce precautioniary heirs, not just out of the threat of angelic weapons, but for status To a Goetia status is everything, a way to advance in the social later is by marrying another powerful Goetia Royal with title and influence Andrealpheus is already powerful and wealthy as Marquis. But by having Stella marry Stolas, a Goetia Prince with a powerful Grimore and role, and a son of the progenitor Paimon; it’s all an opportunity for both him and Stella to become more powerful and advance in status from the match, as well as the honor of producing precautionary heir Octavia Now, if Stolas was killed before Octavia was born, then Stella would inherit everything from Stolas, it’s just as well If Stolas was killed while Octavia was a child, Stella could still salvage this by being regent over Stolas’ title and influence Octavia in her own image as she grows up, which is still a gain for Andrealpheus and Stella But now Octavia is 17, she’s practically of age to inherit Stolas’ title if anything happens to him. plus being divorced, Stella and Andrealpheus would be entitled nothing from the inheritance And Andrealpheus knows that, and allowed things to unfold a bit to give Stella what she wanted, weaken Stolas from injury, and convince Stella to see things his way, to play the long game and let Stolas live for now, while Andrealpheus plots what to do next
Stella didn't think any of this through, did she? For instance, what would happen if Via and the other Goetias found out that you killed your husband? That you killed a demon royal? And what makes you think that Striker won't hold this over your head for all eternity and blackmail you for more money?
Oof the others will probably kill both stella and her brother or striker will if he doesn't get paid after all he has the weapons and rope that makes them and that can kill them

@@sapp_lmao... Have you ever heard of your brother calling you a Vixen and a Minx ? Look up the slang terminology for those two words... And you'll be surprised
I don't think Andrealphus actually even likes his sister. He strikes me as more of the "older sibling babysitter in charge of minding and bailing out the rotten egg of the family". In the diner scene he starts off being passive aggressive towards Stolas, but then shows frustration when Stella's "making this harder to bull****", which implies he's actually faking his "big brother outrage".
Is nobody gonna talk about how uncomfortable Stella looks when Andre starts getting er, a little TOO close to her? Vivzie did say “hurt people hurt people” in response to if Stella was gonna have a backstory (or something along those lines) I feel like this serving some very uncomfortable foreshadowing to that. I don’t want to think that Stella was outright sexually abused by Andre, otherwise, she wouldn’t willingly want to sit and have tea with him, but I do think he might be foreshadowing some sort of trauma that he at LEAST didn’t help Stella in, or made worse. (Before any of you come at me and say that Stella acts “too aggressive” to have gone through that or something. My stepmother has (or at least claims to) have gone through severe sexual trauma in the past, and she made life hell for me and my dad, even kicking us out of our own house, we had stay in a hotel that apparently had mice, and we ended up moving into an apartment. She’s only continued to make things harder for us. Sorry for traumadumping, I’m just saying that not all abuse victims are innocent little woobies, and I feel like Stella is going to have a backstory framed as “that’s a reason for you’re behavior, not an excuse”)
Honestly I agree with you because personally I know a lot of people who go through trauma that are a mixed bag of “fucked by life” and “the source of trauma”. Like if Stella is an abuse victim turned into an abuser it would unfortunately be accurate. I’m not saying Stella should get redemption though cause she’s clearly not remorseful about abusing Stolas, like the thing with her abuse is there’s not a “honeymoon stage” where she’s nicer to him and she likely won’t get better nor have any sound reasons for redemption. Also I’m so sorry for both you and your father, I understand what it’s like having a shitty step parent and I hope you and your father can get out of that situation and have a better life.💜
And half the time when he was touching her face she looked kind of…defeated in a way, like she knew she couldn’t over power her brother? I might be reading too deep into the lines here but I don’t think this is healthy by any means

@@jules6735 whole time my brother and I watched this episode we were wondering why the hell andrealphus was so touchy with her, it was definitely weird. Though her feeling powerless could definitely be that Stella lacks any powers as far as we know. Stolas has astromancy while andrealphus has cryomancy, but it seems all Stella has is just her own self and as such feels a sense of weakness around them
I think secretly she was super spoiled by their parents that made her into a catty c*nt and Andrealphus is secretly using her to steal Stolas's rank while leaving her in the dust.
For how hyped this character was, I was kinda shocked that he only had two scenes of screen time. He did gain a presence with his voice and his design, even what he says in this scene. Idk I kinda expected more from him
Judging the energy I get from this character, he’s likely gonna betray Stella at some point in the future. He’s obviously looking to get something out of this divorce while Stella only wants Stolas dead.
Some people think this shows Stella being dim-witted, and I use to think that as well. But all she’s lacking is her brother’s bottomless ambition. Why would Stella be fixated on more money? Their family clearly doesn’t need it; Andrealphus lives in a palace. Made of ice. In HELL. Stella also isn’t jealous or insecure enough to be bothered at all by Octavia getting money and power.
1:06 I’m calling it now, someone convinced Andrealphus of this idea to Stella. Just the way he speaks about this almost confirms my suspicion that this idea wasn’t his own.
After finally seeing andrealphus for the first time I honestly think he might be the most dangerous of the villains we have seen on helluva boss. He was able to easily manipulate his sister stella right here into calling off the hit on stolas. An now we see that stella is actually not that smart, I mean she literally didn't give any thought into how she is going to hold on to her power and inherit all of stolas wealth, territory, and legions. I'm starting to think that stella has gone from a main villain to more of a secondary villain and allowing her brother to tell her what to do and how to move up higher in the ranks of high society. An she and her brother seem to want to take all of stolas power, influence, and what he will eventually past down to Octavia for themselves.
Even if he didn’t show his full power, Asmodeus is def more dangerous. He’s not just some demon. He’s one of the Seven Deadly Sins (essentially a demonic god) who rule Hell. And this ep shows Striker is more dangerous than them due to his vast array of angelic weaponry. Even Stolas was at his mercy.
@@domonicsantalucia9002 true asmodeus is still the most powerful being we have seen in the series so far, HOWEVER he hasn't shown any interest or ambitious of being a threat to stolas, blitz, and the rest of I.M.P he isn't plotting anything against our main group. As for striker yes he has an array of angelic weapons and is very dangerous BUT so far we don't know where he got them from for all we know he was given those weapons by stella to kill stolas in the first place, remember it was never explained where he got those weapons. Andrealphus is actually plotting to "help" his sister get her revenge and inherit all of stolas wealth, territory, influence, and other resources. Which makes him a villain.
@@chuckrothans7535 I’m just saying, you said that you think Andrealphus is the most dangerous. While I do think he’ll definitely be a challenge (and I mean big challenge), we don’t know what the future has in store I know Asmodeus will appear again and who knows, maybe IMP will do something that’ll make him even more mad. As for Striker, I genuinely think he’ll betray Stella at some point due to how he said in his debut that he wanted to slay Overlords (ik the Goetia aren’t Overlords and are vastly more powerful, it just shows he hates Hell’s higher-ups) and how this episode established how much he hates the Goetia. I think we can safely assume Striker got his weapons on his own as while it makes sense that Stella would supply him the sniper in his debut, the very end showed him with those pistols (is that what there called?) and he didn’t have them before and he was just calling Stella. So while I do agree Andrealphus is def the most dangerous DIRECT threat at the moment, I’d say he loses that title if we’re talking about the others potential.
@@domonicsantalucia9002 I agree if asmodeus does end up wanting to go after I.M.P that would make him the most dangerous threat, but so far he has shown no interest in going after them he doesn't really have a motive to do so YET, an yes you are right asmodeus is returning in season 2 however we aren't sure why or whether that episode will be taking place in real time or if it will be more like a flash back episode like the first episode of season 2 we do know from the trailer that it featured fizzarolli hanging out with asmodeus and also what looks like fizzarolli telling off blitz about something personal 🤔 different from what we saw in the season 1 episode 7. As for were striker got the other angelic weapons it's possible that they were supplied to him by stella just like the sniper rifle was, after all those kinda weapons can't be easily for anyone especially an Imp ( like striker) to get a hold of in any of the rings of hell unless he has a benefactor supplying him with those weapons in the first place ( stella ) an even though stella is a royal striker is working for her to get what he wants which would be more angelic weapons that he could use to assassinate more of hell's elites. Basically he is kinda using stella to get what he wants in a different but similar way blitz has been using stolas to get the book. I only said that andrealphus might be the most dangerous threat to I.M.P because he is actively helping his sister stella to take all of stolas wealth, territory, power, influence, loyal legions, and other resources before killing stolas. He has ill intentions against stolas and to an extent I.M.P making him the more threatening villain than all the other villains who have openly tried to destroy or threaten I.M.P or stolas. Again asmodeus is obviously the most powerful being we have seen in the series so far but so far he doesn't really have any motivation to go after them they didn't harm him, they didn't destroy his business, and no damage physical or financial was done to him or his business so he has no real reason to seek revenge.
I love that in both Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, there seem to be different LEVELS of bad guy. It's refreshing. Andrealphus - the type to play the long game. Stella - the type to just be petty Alastor - the mysterious wild card.
“Goetia have never behaved like this before…” I think he’s referring not only to Stolas having an affair - a public one, at that - with an imp, but also Stella trying to have him assassinated out of sheer hatred. There’s literally no other thought behind it, no desire for power, etc. She shamelessly hates him, has berated him - a PRINCE - in public for years, and we still don’t know why, when there was clearly a period when they were potentially happy, or at least friendly. If I’m right, then that’s very interesting for lore.
It revealed of Andrealphus and Stella's dark past. Andrealphus and Stella are having a sibling rivalry. That Stella's parents loves her elder brother Andrealphus more than her. And, Stella strangled her pet demon dogs. And they're both evil and dysfunctional sibling demon birds.
Andrealphus, wants Stolas alive for other reasons. Wouldnt he benefit from his death? He would get the grimiore and a new rank? Plus, they could easily manipulate Via easier than Stolas to get more. They could easily swoop in while grieving her father's loss. Also if the upper lords found out Stolas was indirectly murdered, by Stella cause some type of embarrassment or dethroning? I'm so invested into this. I can't wait to see what happenes next.
@@jessryan2104 exactly, this is is th crux of his arguement. he WON'T get the grimoire, the money, the house or even the title and duties and territory stolas has. Octavia would get all ofit.
all personal opinion of course I am not saying he didn't manipulate honestly no surprise there if he really did but. I honestly think he was just trying to make his sister rethink this logically and try to work this out in a better way. I'm simply not saying there was no manipulation there probably was somewhere in there but I'm just saying my opinion.
Well, manipulate... More like using his brain. What I wish Andrealphus to say to Stolas is "Oh, you will die, make no mistake about it. But first... First, we are taking everything away from you. One, by, one... We will destroy your life, break your heart to microscopic pieces in the slowest way possible, and ruin your very existence to the point that your craving for death will become more and more desperate... And only then, we will let you die. But again, first, we will strike you where it hurts most."
Stella is doing what she wants she doesn’t want stolas’s power she is irresponsible spoiled brat, andrealphus on the other hand wants that power as he is a marquis and not a prince like stolas he is trying to change her mind so he is manipulating her out of doing what she wants. Stella is not stupid andrealphus is just smarter.
I think Stella doesn't care about wealth and knew she wouldn't get anything from him but her brother does for rank and power. she just wanted stolas dead.
I disagree she wants power and status due to her royal upbringing and absolutely loves the benefits from it. However because she runs on emotion (mainly just spite) she clearly didn't think this plan through.
I like the fact that Stella isn't interested in money or other suff. She looks just like a demon should be. Btw.. This is not manipulation, it's common sense imo, even if it doesn't make any sense since they're not already divorced and they could have just fake documents. I don't know how it works in this hell, but it's not that hard, I saw it in many movies. I suppose they just needed the excuse to create some drama about Stolas being kidnapped to make Blitzo worry about it. Fanficion writing, lol.
Manipulation is *"getting someone to do something they wouldn't do otherwise."* - even if Andrealphus is only using common sense, it's clear Stella doesn't care about the Pros/Cons of Stolas dying. Her brother has to stress these points and invade her personal space to get her to call off Striker. Sounds like manipulation to me.
@@PlanetZoidstar But this is normal comunication in a family. It's like saying that a mother is manipulative to her child because she's able to convince him to eat vegetables even if he doesn't want to. It's like saying that Blitzo manipulated Loona because he brought her in a place she didn't like, or that Millie manipulates Moxxie because she constantly uses her love to push Moxxie to kill people. (wait...controversy here! That last one sounds more like manipulation now that I think about it). Stella's brother doesn't have secret intentions, he says exactly what he thinks and wants to, that's why it's not manipulation. She's free to say "Ok" or "no" because he didn't hide informations to her. She knows what he wants and why and she's ok with that she's just upset because she wants to kill Stolas. Blitzo's father is the most iconic character to speak about manipulation, because he pushed Blitzo to do things he didn't wanted, using the guilty card on him, at an age he wasn't even able to fully understand what he was doing and why (he wasn't able to understand that his father was a big piece of trash, while Stella is perfectly OK with that kind of stuff since she's a terrible "person" too). That's why I said that the thing between Stella and her brother isn't manipulation. It's became there's no hidden intentions. Both characters are perfectly aware on what's happening. It's not just about convincing people to do something.
I mean, even if the assassination succeeded, they could argue that since Octavia is still "young and untrained", the inheritance will be in Stella's responsibility, until she is of age. Though, how much do you think Stella could manipulate Octavia in 'sharing' the inheritance, that is of course as long as she doesn't know her mom sent the assassin.
Something I find really interesting about this scene, is the fact that Andrealphus refers to Octavia as Via, a nickname which implies a certain degree of fondness for his niece, also the way he noticeably hesitates bringing up the fact that if Stolas dies, Via would get everything, feels like subtlety asking his sister. “I know you hate your husband, but you’re not seriously considering killing your own daughter just to get his power, are you?” Andrealphus might be a scheming brother in-law, but at least he’s a scheming brother in-law with standards and who actually cares about his niece.
People are saying how "Andrealphus isn't manipulating her!" or "He sees the big picture!", but in reality Stella is already rich. She doesn't really want Stolas stuff (at least, not THAT badly). It's Andrealphus that makes her think she wants it!

It's weird how she's not even concerned about getting nothing out of Stolas's death. Is she really content that Octavia gets everything?

Lol both
Out of context, Andrealpheus as apparently the head of his and Stella’s branch of the Goetia family as Marquis, the official title he has in rl demonology
Andrealpheus has his own title and role in service of the Goetia Family, as apparently at least over 72 Goetia demons With titles
In rl demonology there’s over 72 named demons of the Ars Goetia
In Helluva Boss. It’s implied that the 72 named Goetias have their own family lines, all originated from Paimon as the father of them all
So there’s 72 houses or branches of the Goetia family tree
Over time they marry, and produce precautioniary heirs, not just out of the threat of angelic weapons, but for status
To a Goetia status is everything, a way to advance in the social later is by marrying another powerful Goetia Royal with title and influence
Andrealpheus is already powerful and wealthy as Marquis. But by having Stella marry Stolas, a Goetia Prince with a powerful Grimore and role, and a son of the progenitor Paimon; it’s all an opportunity for both him and Stella to become more powerful and advance in status from the match, as well as the honor of producing precautionary heir Octavia
Now, if Stolas was killed before Octavia was born, then Stella would inherit everything from Stolas, it’s just as well
If Stolas was killed while Octavia was a child, Stella could still salvage this by being regent over Stolas’ title and influence Octavia in her own image as she grows up, which is still a gain for Andrealpheus and Stella
But now Octavia is 17, she’s practically of age to inherit Stolas’ title if anything happens to him. plus being divorced, Stella and Andrealpheus would be entitled nothing from the inheritance
And Andrealpheus knows that, and allowed things to unfold a bit to give Stella what she wanted, weaken Stolas from injury, and convince Stella to see things his way, to
play the long game and let Stolas live for now, while Andrealpheus plots what to do next

1:06
I’m calling it now, someone convinced Andrealphus of this idea to Stella.
Just the way he speaks about this almost confirms my suspicion that this idea wasn’t his own.
Everyone knows at least one person like Stella in real life.

There’s literally no other thought behind it, no desire for power, etc. She shamelessly hates him, has berated him - a PRINCE - in public for years, and we still don’t know why, when there was clearly a period when they were potentially happy, or at least friendly.

“I know you hate your husband, but you’re not seriously considering killing your own daughter just to get his power, are you?”
Andrealphus might be a scheming brother in-law, but at least he’s a scheming brother in-law with standards and who actually cares about his niece.
