I literally waited a year to do this. In this video I finally do a full body wet sand on my 1994 BMW 530i Touring, in Hellrot of course. Besides a couple of panels this car is original paint so we're talking 28 years of defects and abuse. I sanded the entire car in 3K soft block while addressing a couple areas in 2K hard block to address some larger issues. I am super happy with the way it turned out. I am not even really into red cars but when polished its hard to deny how good they look. However this is not the end for this paint, a lot more on that coming soon. What about touch-up paint for rock chips and such? Do you ever do that? And if you were to do it in this instance, at what step would you do it?
I do do that but this car is getting a more permanent solution to that. I would do it before sanding, that way when you do sand it helps blend. It’s actually a really fun process

this man just did like 15 hours worth of work in 18 minutes. I wish I had the patience to record and make a video of work like this. Once I get in the zone, I just do the work and forget to take pictures and videos haha

I use to cringe thinking Wet sanding was going to thrash paint that needs revitalization but your videos provides confidence with that. Just water is good! I think there was a little ONR in my mix

Thanks man! I did my polishing stage with griots finishing sealant which is good for a few months. No serious protection but you’ll find out why soon 🥺

Why you did sanding on paint? Doesn't it damages the paint?
It’s a safer way of removing paint defects. Less heat

What does he use to spray on the car? Water ?
Yeah its water and a little bit of ONR. But just water is fine

Great job, a dream come true for me. I know it's tiny detail, but that's what detailing boils down to. You should remove the 530 badge in the back and polish the paint underneath. In one take it's soooo visible that paint inside the 0 is not refined. Small stuff but still super important :)
You never disappoint, dope music, dope camera work and dope cars. Btw what grit did you use for polishing? Whats that weird sponge thing you used for sanding?
Thank you bro! Most of the car was just 3k in a soft block RID stick. The repainted panels were done in 2k hard block followed by 3k soft

While filming your videos, do ever get annoyed with tedious stuff when detailing, not to mention setting up the camera angles and what-not? Like, how long did it take you to sand down the entire car? I enjoy watching these vids, just curious how you feel doing the work sometimes.
I’d be lying to say every minute of it was enjoyable. But the end result is worth it everytime! Sanding the car takes like 6 hours alone

Thanks for the videos! I have an E30 with fresh paint that has some orange peel and fisheyes, trying to determine whether or not to start with 2k or 3k. Is the Optimum No Rinse in the spray bottle?
You make it look easy. Black, red and dark blue are the hardest to maintain but when cleaned up can't be beat!
