I've been binge watching some of your older vids. Been in and out of the hospital the last week or so. Sorry I've not been commenting. Love yalls channel. Keep em coming. HH and God bless.
Your videos are terrific! I am very impressed by your encyclopedic knowledge of bottles - especially manufacturing techniques, manufacturers, and dating. When I was young I did some privy and dump digging and always wanted to retire and do more, unfortunately my health has taken a turn for the worse and I am going to have to enjoy the thrill of the dig vicariously through you - thank you very much for letting me come along on your adventures. - Paul
Hi Paul....well you are always welcome to come along with us if you like. I'm sorry to hear about your health. I've had a couple health issues myself so need to probably slow down a little also...but its so hard to do isnt it? I keep talking about retiring so I can dig more before I cant do it any more. I'm 59 now and try to just take one day at a time....living each day to the fullest Paul. We will take you along with us in every video my friend, so you will see the good, the bad, and the downright ugly...haha. Merry Christmas buddy...Digger Dave & Shovelin Shelly and Privy Paul Beeler
Hey there wvdigrrr....thanks my friend for watching and for the nice comments. That's always an encouragement for us, even though some digs are not very good. We love digging so will try to share every dig we can.....Merry Christmas, Digger Dave
As I've mentioned before, ever use a sifter on that nice soft dirt? I advertise my Oak & stainless screens in the bottle & digger mags. Still haven't dug a privy, only dumping grounds & gulches. Do you save the bricks? They're useful in the yard. I've found lots here, all imported. A thick ones are marked Glasgow. Flat ones are unmarked. The yellow firebricks are heavily marked and numerous, steam driven sugar mills and steamship boilers. I've even found granite "Chinatown" street pavers. I read somewhere the Waianae plantation was proud of their fine masonry. Also found some nice limestone blocks, cut from coral reefs. I found a few hocks a year ago in Town, a definite 1893/4 area, from the broken Hawaiian Codds.
great dig !...it's always nice to dig a saratoga my first was a congress water my second was a clark and white sand chip pontil . Thanks for taking me along.
Thanks Jeff....boy it sure is fun digging a nice Saratoga isnt it? We have dug some real nice ones but we dont find them every time. We are so glad you watched....good luck with your digs. Merry Christmas....Digger Dave & Privy Paul
Yea we were stoked to dig up that Saratoga. Paul and I havent picked those bottles yet, so I dont know who will end up with that one. Thanks for watching...happy hunting and Merry Christmas..Digger Dave
That was awsome to watch, Thanks for taking us all along with you .I did not know that about the older Iron stone , thats what i like you explane the glass companys and bottle molds, you have alot of experiance, , and its evendent. I supose the lady of the house wanted that bayonet out of the house , Maybe dangerouse for the kids to play with . Nice Congress water , you just kant beat the caricter of those older bottles
Guess you could build a courtyard wall or something with all the bricks that you find in the privies - an instant antique wall - I would have loved it :)
Hello...o man its always a thrill digging anything Civil War related isnt it? We dig a bayonet once in a great while, but not very often. Thank for watching....good luck in your hunting. Hope 2020 is an awesome treasure year for everyone.....Merry Christmas from our family to yours...Digger Dave
Really enjoyed watching your videos. Just curious why you don't use some kind or rake to dig. It's a new exciting year looking forward to new videos. It will be unbelievable.
It seems that there are houses pretty close to where you dig. I’d love to have a privy in my backyard. Haha. Good score on the bayonet. Man if that could talk just think of the stories it could tell. Wow. Ok be save, Tom.
Hi. I am fascinated by the things that survive being buried for the years. I inherited a brown, 1 gal crock that I cannot find any information about. Do you have any suggestions as to where I should look? Thank you.
Hi Lorisue...we live in Illinois about an hour from St.Louis. I have dug in St.Louis for over 40 years but its getting hard to find good early dig sites dowtown where it is oldest and best to dig. I love to dig in Missouri and Illinois, but we dig all over the Midwest and South. Thanks for watching.....Digger Dave
DiggerDave and Shovelin Shelley Beeler I use old broken glass for my art. Would love to rummage through your discards. Colors are hard to find. I do know several places along the river where over the past three years bottle hunters have found. If you would like to probe my property ...
Thanks so much for watching. We will try to show the lips more on the bottles. Its kind of fun seeing the various lip finishes and what they tell us about dating, etc. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas....Digger Dave & Shovelin Shelley

That Congress Water is a beauty!. I've only ever dug one, but mine's later (1880?) and doesn't have the "Hotchkiss Sons".

I would love to come and dig with you all! I'm from Alexandria.

Won't it be safer for the stuff if you use a kind of strong rake instead of thr shovel?
Greetings.
I would like to know what the value of that crock Paul dug up and gave to his parents for Xmas ??
i did 10 years but no real cameras back then
Why do you want it to be embossed?
Pity about all of the bricks which is in the privy it would have break everything
Could try electrolysis on that bayonet pretty easy to rig one up
Id reglue the crock
What state are you digging in? I live in St Louis

Most of the stuff is broke because all of those bricks dumped on top of everything - what a shame!
