Apart from that, in my opinion Ailee puts more emotion into the song, and she doesn't look like dying when singing her highest notes. For me Sohyang is a very great vocalist, but it seems like just high notes. Even accepting that range is the only tool to classify vocalists (false), Ailee has a wider range that Sohyang.
For the sake of objectivity aside the idiom, I will say this; Jazz doesn't focus on vocals and never did, not even its subgenres. Rythm and Blues started the vocal run fad, and it got even more vocally focused because it is intertwined with black culture, with Gospel one of its major inspiration. Ring a bell with those genres? Yep, Sohyang. If you listen close, their chesty runs are similar in style.
