Haha thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! We appreciate you always watching and commenting! ☺️☺️ we thought of you specifically when squirrel makes an appearance haha 😂👍🏼
@@MTN_BUILT I do have a soft spot for that guy. He seems like he’s a good pard to have around and I admit I like seeing him in the videos. Do you have any more hunts on the horizon?
I absolutely love your candor on every thing posted. Mistakes. Successes. In between. 3 acres per horse is accurate. Rotation with rest periods of a few weeks intervals.... so grateful Y'ALL are doing it. Not me. I do not have equids. It's just me. With a bad chocolate habit❤😂
Epic video with the funny stuff. Great comedic timing. 😂😂😂 Super info!! We have 10 acres but its a forest although I've thought about separating some of the pastured part to let stuff grow. But the horses and mules have an obstacle course they run through for exersize with logs and hills and stuff. Id hate to take away their track. Probably wouldn't be worth it. They really girdle trees so can't really make more land accessible to them cuz they are big beavers. But I do let them out 1 at a time to free graze the yard and road area. Lots of chamomile and wild medicine along with the grasses. Thistle is the favorite of my little mule dj. When I ride , hell stop like he has to pee but then I realize he's asking if he can go off trail to devour the biggest prickliest thistle plant. Flowers leaves stickers and ALL. HES SO WEIRD. Takes his time plucking it apart with his lips curled back using his front teeth to selectively pluck it apart! Its insane. Nobody else does it. I have videos. How does he do it. !
Hahaha too funny! I swear mules are part goat 😂😂😂 ours sure enjoy eating branches that blow out of our willow trees, and anything and everything along the trails! 😂 Camomile is great for them ☺️👍🏼 Sounds like they have a fun area to roam around! 😃
Great tutorial Jason. Glad to see your herd healthy and happy. Glad Alissa's critters are doing so well and telling everyone about it, lol. Great video! 👍👍👍
We have! That would be so cool! The way our property was already set up it wouldn’t work all that well, but in the future we would be very interested in setting up a system like that ☺️
I liked the sounds in the background. I liked when you edited and made the mule disappear. It doesn't sound like a huge error although hay can be expensive and horse or mules don't like weeds. Do you ever feed them grain I've heard of that but wasnt sure. When I worked at a horse farm it seemed caring for the equines was number one while riding them was secondary thank for the great video kray
Haha lots of ambiance from munching equines, ducks and geese! 😂😂😂 Yeah thankfully grass grows back and it just cost the mules some time out on pasture but it did come back ☺️ We do supplement with some grain, it’s more of a treat to bring them back in from the field haha! Yeah you are right! We spend more time caring for them than we do riding haha! But we enjoy it all ☺️
@@MTN_BUILT yes she’s sensitive to the sugar and will founder if she eats too much. We had another mini mule who went to my friends place in southern AZ for the same reason- to get him off the grass. I like how you mentioned to slowly integrate the mules into grazing time so they don’t get overloaded
I give my horses only enough space for one day of grazing - it prevents the favorable grasses from getting over grazed because they don’t have days to come back for seconds and thirds, picking it down to the soil. I basically apply all of Greg Judy’s techniques
That’s such a great point! Yarrow is a great plant- we just don’t want it in our pasture- the more grass, the better in there 😊 We actually planted yarrow and other wildflowers next to our pond for pollinators (and because they’re pretty lol)
Nice!! It’s a great system to help them graze more evenly when you don’t have enough pasture. Hopefully we can buy a place with more pasture in the future ☺️
Live and learn, its all you can do! I really like the comedic relief scattered throughout the video and I laughed out loud several times. 🤠

Great content in an honest and straightforward way, mistakes and all. That is very much appreciated, thanks.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to us 😊🙌🏼
I love these videos where Stuff happens, like the goose and it was very informational. Thanks for sharing, you guys are awesome!😃
Haha thank you! We thought about cutting it out, but decided to leave it in lol that’s real life around here 😂😂 thanks for watching!! ☺️
Glad to see your back. Thats how you learn from the mistakes. Remind the goose that the holidays are coming up.
😂😂😂 goose for Christmas! Haha thanks for watching!
I enjoyed the real moments in the video, it was lively!
Haha thank you! We thought about cutting all those out but figured we would leave them and maybe it would be entertaining 😂😂👍🏼
The fact you posted a mistake speaks volumes to your character. subbed
Haha thank you! We definitely make a lot of mistakes and want to keep the channel real and not just a total highlight reel! We appreciate it!! ☺️

Haha well we just hope others can learn from our shared mistakes! 😃👍🏼 haha I too have a chocolate addiction so I hear you! 😂😂
Thanks for sharing the good & the bad.
You bet! If our mistakes can help someone else avoid them, then that’s a success in our mind! ☺️👍🏼
This is why we love you guys! Keeping it real. We all make mistakes.
Thank you so much for the kind words! And we’re just hoping to not make the SAME mistakes next year lol 😂

@@MTN_BUILT yes. Beaver goats. 😝
This is a valuable teaching video. Thank you for posting.

That was an excellent explanation… very detailed 👍
Thank you so much!! 😊
Another great video. Thank you I learned a few things

Have yall ever looked into setting up a track system? (I’m just a moment into the video so I’m not sure if you mentioned that or not)

Very interesting stuff! 👌 😊
Thank you!! 😊
You guys still did great job building it
Thank you!! Hopefully next year it will work a little better! Haha if we don’t overgraze it again! 😂👍🏼
The ducks improve the audio. I love the background noise

Your mules are gorgeous! Thanks for posting the review. We have a mule who can’t be on grass at all 😫
Thank you so much!! Oh bummer! Is it because of the sugars? Founder? Laminitis?

Yes! 😂😂😂
What part of Idaho do you live in. What town is close to you?
Love mules & fuzzy faced bird dogs
good info.
Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
Good sir, that plant you posted as a weed is a medicinal plant called yarrow and it has many uses.
That’s such a great point! Yarrow is a great plant- we just don’t want it in our pasture- the more grass, the better in there 😊 We actually planted yarrow and other wildflowers next to our pond for pollinators (and because they’re pretty lol)
@MTN_BUILT Totally understand, grass where grass is needed and medicinal plants in thier place. God bless you both!
I had to rotational for 25 years, now I have plenty of pasture.
Nice!! It’s a great system to help them graze more evenly when you don’t have enough pasture. Hopefully we can buy a place with more pasture in the future ☺️
Looks like a Christmas goose
