Visualize a character, one who is in literal possession of an inexhaustible amount of knowledge in relation to killer strategies; next, is a brilliant martial artist and not just any but one that is actually trained to kill. Also, if we are to take things to the next level, no-one has ever seen her face! Well, technically nobody except for Terry McGinnis, who had engaged in a fight with her as Batman. May we add here that Terry was truly frightened to death when he managed to catch a glance of her before getting kicked right at the face.
Wondering who are we talking about? Well, the person in concern is Curaré, the deadliest and the most infallible killer of the Society of Assassins.
The true identity of this antagonist here still happens to be a mystery and mind you, no-one knows her real name. But it goes without saying that this silent assassin has been more than a challenging threat to Batman. Judging by the caped crusader’s reaction when he first saw her face, one can easily assume that it is disfigured in some way or the other. Well, in today’s video, we are not only going to talk about Curaré but also explore her tragic origin story, her appearances in Batman Beyond Animated Television Series and what is it that makes her character so deadly.
What is rare about Curare is that despite being a professional assassin there is a hint of decency in her. She had no pragmatic reason not to kill Max, and only did so out of mercy.
That's just makes her even less intriguing, and scary. She has no problem killing others in her way, even said she would confront her own brother. But let a valuable resource to your objective live? If she kill max she may have won, as it would unbalance Terry,( or as I call him clone fakeman.) ,causing him to be emotional. Learn to deal with true lost, like Bruce. But plot saved max..because.....Just my 2 cents.

@@yeaokay8476 damn you dumb. she goes after the target. she isn't a lunatic or sadist who murders everyone around. she is focused on her target. killing somebody else is being sloppy. a professional considers killing non targets to be sloppy.
We have to add also she had the possibility to kill very easily Terry when he was paralyzed and completely helpless from the electro shock during the 12 episode but she didnt stab him.
During the episode, We see her just killing targets or self defence.
Surely evil assasin but with a certain sense of honor and professional at the core XD
This character was underrated for me. Beyond gave us so many great villains yet this one never gets talked about!

She may have a hot body but underneath her vail lies a terrifying zombie face. Even Mileena from Mortal Kombat looks less horrific unmasked compared to her.

Curare is definitely a frightening and intimidating warrior/assassin in Batman Beyond’s rogues gallery. Especially with that scimitar kitana with that molecular edge. Wonder if that can cut the man of steel? 😳

I think Curare is better with out a back story it makes her more mysterious and not every villain needs a sad backstory I think that has been overdone. Some villains are much better without a backstory.
It's not really a sad backstory, she grew up in a monastery and made friends with another orphan boy (the future Green Lantern), she realized the only way she could leave is if she was in charge so she rigged the Dali Lama search, only for the monks to change it last minute and having her ploy found out. If anything, she got what she wanted, she was kicked out of the monastery and became an assassin of her own accord.
Would love to have seen a fight between her and Bruce Wayne in his prime.

Her and ink were my favorites. It is time for a big budget movie, we have old bruce waynes and we can get an up and comer new actor.
Curare reminds me a lot of Katana in terms of how amazingly adept at martial arts and stealth she is. Both of them are truly awesome and keep to themselves.
I really like Katana, but they have written her in a corner with the cursed sword that has the soul of her dead husband. emotionally she is stuck in love with a ghost. They get rid of that aspect and let her breathe she will grow more as a person and a hero

I love Batman and beyond I grew up watching this series every day when I got the chance and Curare was one of the best examples of how good it was when it first aired I just wish it didn't focused on teen drama after season 1 because the network that broadcasted the WB wanted to focus on that because of their Buffy the vampire Slayer interest.

Where was the deadly, throwing death pills, that one can avoid, just looking at it, like "huh"..is not deadly its, stupid people. Defeating beat cops is not impressive, they are jobbers,that fold like wet tissue. When she face equal she lost, got outsmarted, Stab a decoy dummy, and caught twice. Maybe she should study how Lady Shiva does it?

I could be wrong but I believe it was once stated thar Curare's face is disfigured from either her training or her past abuses. It was stated that her face looks more like a skull; she has no nose and her lips are missing. She has sunken cheeks with a bad over bite. Her teeth are jagged and crooked and she has no eyebrows. What little hair she does have on her bald head is gangly and stringy like a crone's. This coupled with her skills probably horrified Terry into thinking she was some kind of Wraith.
They need to put her in live action

It's interesting the that way to determine the next Dalai Lama is similar to how the next Avatar is being chosen in Last Airbender. I guess that they took inspiration from that, as there are many similarities between the two cultures.

He has the bat suit which increases his strength and gives him weapons etc. Without it he wouldn’t stand a chance. Just like a lot of the other villains like blight, inque, stalker etc he needs the suit at the very least to defeat them.
