I've heard it said, that Super Gore Nest is like, the opposite of a panic attack. You are the panic, you are the attack. I've never heard another song that so perfectly gathers and pushes tension to an andrenaline pumping edge, and then cuts it all loose with absolute cathartic fury. And all these fan remixes just further solidify it's legend status in the community. Thank you Mick, and for all you TH-cam mixers out there: thank you for bringing this musical power fantasy/anti-anxiety medication of a song to life.
I call it testosterone music. The only other musician that I know of that perfectly strike this specific genre is early Slipknot. They are incredibly powerful and are abundantly fueled with Argent.
Yeah I definitely agree. It's super action-packed, designed absolutely wonderfully, and of course the soundtrack for the level (and, actually, the whole game) is incredibly freaking good. Doom's soundtrack is the only thing that is pumping my blood through my veins at this point (my heart gave out long ago). chef's kiss is the waves of demons to rip and tear through
@@taxevasion6087 Oh yeah, get the hang o it and jut keep moving and killing, ripping and tearing, ahh wonderful! Then the escape at the end with the count down, the poison, the explosion cinematic? Killer. I was terrible at the game, however I listen to tracks from DOOM 2016 and Eternal fairly often, can't get enough of it.
@@kyle21843 I had it on the easiest, never beat the Maykr. I'm not good with those kind of button imputes where you need to be fast, I constantly fumble it. I know that battle is actually easy, but for me its really hard. I understand the DLC's are way harder, I'd just get endlessly frustrated.
I actually hated that level. _(Let me explain first!)_ The super gore nest was the level where the platforming became very apparent to me. I could totally do it, but pirouetting and dabbing over that toxic sludge really killed the mood. I felt like I was following a distinct path laid out before me, obediently following the rules. The level, and the ones following, was just a game of hopscotch with a reskin. I wasn't the Doom Guy, I was a well-trained DOGGIE jumping through hoops, climbing up ramps and doing tricks, so I could be handfed a tiny treat. _Like a good little girl..._ I was submissive to the obvious level design. Sure, there was platforming in 2016, but it felt natural because the infrastructure was damaged, and usually there were multiple ways to the same point. In Doom Eternal it was constructed to be a linear obstacle course. The Doomslayer doesn't play around on monkey bars! He rips the metal pole out of the formwork and uses it to bash in a Barron of Hell's skull! Rember in Doom 2016? In the level called Beginning of the End? Samuel Hayden tells you to carefully remove the Argent filters, but the Doomslayer curb stomps them instead, because he has an iron will and cannot be told by anyone what to do. _(Remember in the original lore, as a marine, he disobeyed orders from a superior officer?)_ At the end of the level you _"shut down"_ the Argent Processor by punching the glass and ripping it out with your bare hands! F🚫CK YEAH! *The Doomslayer is the Hell-Walker!* _Not the Hell-Ballerina..._
It kind of adds to the effect if you think about it. It could be the scraping of a round entering the chamber of the heavy assault rifle or whatever it was called. Or the screams of dying victims. Thats just my opinion tho.

gosh do i love this game 500 hours in a single player campaign game is rare for me these years but I've played it so much even after almost 2 years break im burnout. but the soundtrack never gets old... im so excited for the next ID game but rip mick gordon
god damn i love this so much! especially using the metal choir chants throughout the song! what i love so much about the DOOM Eternal soundtrack since it hasnt been (and most likely never will at this point) been released is that we get all of these different renditions from different mixers. every single mix sounds different and has a different feel to it

Wow, that is so true. Thx mick and others that really bring the doom soundtrack to its full potential.

„Its complicated…“
„Cmon, whats it called?“
„Metal, without guitars and more V O I L E N C E“
Yeah same
argent metal yes
my guy, I assure you, this is NOT without guitars
I was about say, without guitars!?
Mick Gordon the composer is a metal guitarist actually
The Super Gore Nest was one of the most insanely fun levels I ever played in a game period.

I see Koma's torch has been passed down to their successor.
in the first seconds, you can hear the sound of Mick's hand sliding down from the 1st fret to 12th on his guitar
