Anyone interested in fishing would watch your videos. But after watching a few, I started to notice the great quality. Little touches like the timer on the battle with the Carp to the little view's of different things that turn a fishing trip into a fishing "adventure".
    Thanks so much Nick.

That bowfin had to be one hell of a fight. I love catching them in the small creeks around here. I caught one that was probably a state record one time buy didn't have a scale at the time but I think 15lbs was the record here and it was definitely over that.

People should never really be proud of long fishing fights with large fish on small tackle, long fights like this kill fish. Tiring large fish out to exhaustion leads to fish death, either directly or indirectly (leaving fish extremely exhausted weakens the fishes immune system, making them more likely to develop and succumb to illness or parasites)

I once watched my neighbor reel in a 63 lb King Salmon with 8 lb line. He was fishing for Jacks and Silvers. Took him 2 1/2 hours. Greatest feat of fishing I've ever seen.

Nah, you'd be surprised at how small certain fish can be to take a head that sized, bullheads, bowfin, channel cats, pike, musky, even a large mouth of not even that large a size could chomp that carps head. I've caught pike on lures that were almost the size of the pike. (10 inch pike on a 6 inch lure)

I have my best luck by hooking it about 3/4 a inch in front of the cut and right below the spine. It gives a solid back bone to help hold the bait on and the hook is also more exposed in the area the fish is trying to eat.

I was fishing at Parker Canyon Lake in southern AZ this Labor Day weekend and reeled in a good sized channel catfish (15"-16") with my ultralight gear and a micro hook that was baited with a piece of night crawler and meant to catch small bluegill. I only had to fight for a minute or two, I use 6lb test, the line did snap as I pulled (forgot my net in the truck) this catfish on shore. I was so blown away I landed this fish with an ultralight and a micro hook set up.
