For the people of Japan
I listened to this piece over and over again. I completely understand what you are saying. Here, time allows the emotions to open up gently, in turn they open up a dimension of time that is beyond the din of our existence. Lang Lang can demonstrate this better than any artist I have encountered.
Not just the interpretation here. Lang Lang played this with passion for the suitable occasion here for Japan and earthquake victims and their families. Great choice!
I love this piece, Widmung, both as a Lied by Schumann and as a piano version by Liszt. I have listened to it so many times, sung and played by quite a few artists. Today I reached here, Lang Lang's Widmung, which was unique and touched me to the heart. Soon I recognized the date of performance, April 28 in 2011. It was on March 11, 2011 that the northern part of Japan, called Tohoku, was hit by a tremendous earthquake and the devastating tsunami. Back in 1995, the 2nd International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians took place in Sendai, a beautiful city in Tohoku. I was among the audience and witnessed a thirteen-year-old boy Lang Lang won the first prize in the piano part. Listening to his Widmung , it is apparent that he felt the pain of the people of Japan as his " mein Schmerz." Thank you so much, Lang Lang. This Widmung is like a textile woven with consolation and hope.
Dear Lang Lang I love your playing the piano. It's so beautiful, passionate, and full of love to music. I appriciate you play for Japanese people. Thank you so much. Thank you for updating.
It is Lang Lang (google it, he is not from Japan) ... better to put it on the title. Do the fare part of credits please. (But he is playing this in Berlin for Japan's event. earthquake? Sorry if getting wrong)
“You are an artist, not a puppet controlled by a dictator. You might have experienced the breath of freedom before I did. But you are playing blind to the ugliness in China. It might be none of your business, since you haven’t experienced the unfairness yourself, you haven’t suffered much yourself. But you are a beneficiary of the current system. The regime will solve your problems, but can you guarantee it will solve the problems of your sons and grandsons?”
@@wwbdwwbd You have the right idea with your comments. But it, would be so much more powerful if you didn't cuss your way through it. You sound so adolescent this way.
The 22nd anniversary of the June 4 massacre is approaching. Please play the song ‘Candle In The Wind’ for the innocent students, workers and citizens who were killed. If you can do it, it will be reported by the international media. You will become China’s hero. Do you dare?

i love the tempo he plays this piece..and his interpretation is wonderful as usual
Beautiful piece unknown to me before LangLang’s performance of it.
This is my very favourite version of this piece. Beautifully controlled and full of emotion. I love this unhurried thoughtful interpretation.

Not just the interpretation here. Lang Lang played this with passion for the suitable occasion here for Japan and earthquake victims and their families. Great choice!
Perfect piece for him. You can’t go over the top emotionally with this piece. There’s just no upper limit. It’s not physically possible.
Best interpretation of this piece by far. Everyone I've heard plays it too fast, too staccato. This is perfect. Bravo Lang Lang.

"I feel sad when I think people are being born and die without ever hearing this."
Thank you Lang Lang for this delicate interpretation and at a much slower tempo than other pianists!
It should be faster. Ask any singer. The German title means "soaring", at this speed it never takes off.
.
@@nigelmorley5414 Are you sure that you were not mixed up between Widmung and Aufschwung? Aufschwung is Soaring, yet Widmung = dedication!
Love it, he has that slight melancholy, so sweet yet slightly bitter...
This is a beautiful interpretation. Perfection! Phrasing is impeccable. Love it!
I think his interpretation of the first section of the piece is delicately executed. Very fragile and beautiful.
Gorgeous tone, phrasing and pace. Bravo!

Lang Lang plays closer to the historic tempo as Schumann wrote it. So many contemporary performers play way too fast and miss the beauty of the music.
Nah Yundi li plays it just perfect
How do you know the historic tempo?
Love this interpretation the most.. ❤
The most beautiful love song ever ! Du meine Seele du mein Herz!
Other interpretations were too rush for my taste. This one is just perfect for my taste.
Best interpretation I’ve heard
Stunning interpretation of this lovely song. Thank you.
a little slow for my taste, because I sing this, but otherwise, absolutely beautiful.
Wonderful rendition.
Best of best. I love this so much
Magnificient, wonderful !!! technicity and musicality, all we can hope on such a beautiful piece.
Thank you for Japanese people! And your playing is wonderful,touching,beautiful,....

His rendition is one of my favorites, not too rushy, after all it is a Love song.
Wonderful
Impressive....

very good!!Mr. rang rang (^^)
Self-indulgent. Everything is in the music, it doesn't need to be slobbered over.

Hey fuck off, leave your China business in China, or wherever the fuck you are from. This is a music video, not a fucking political manifesto.

是慢了,太造作了,比别人的差,,th-cam.com/video/okYsMLu72Hs/w-d-xo.html
