The P1S does NOT scan the QR code on the build plate - it has no scanner. For X1C just photograph the QR code on the existing plate, print onto a label and stick it in the right location (you can download and print a location guide for sticking on labels). For users with AMS risers the touch screen as shown will stop you being able to get the lid in easily by the looks of it, so about to investigate whether it supports alternative mountings (like replacing the P1S screen as the X1C uses the same location and doesn't interfere with the lid with an AMS riser). Throw away your purge lines
I use the Panda screen on my P1S, I have a lid riser and an AMS on top of it and the AMS as a riser to allow bigger spools and the panda does not block anything. My panda screen actually sits above the P1S screen as well.
I printed a simple desk stand. The thing is wireless no need to have it plugged in and mounted to the printer. Just print the stand, and plug a usb c to the back of the screen and you can charge it that way. When you unplug the USB C it works off its charged battery.
You can print mounts for the Panda Touch screen that allows it to slip over the top of the existing screen. No issue with getting to the lid easily when you have a riser
About the Panda Lux, DO NOT use both lights at the same time. It will exceed the 0.3A recommended by BambuLabs. Bigtreetech has updated the installation instructions as well saying only to use one of the light strips.

I was going to buy the Panda Touch when i bought my P1S AMS 4 months ago. I never bought it and i never use my panel. I used it a few time to check how many print hours the machine has racked up. That's it. Otherwise i just use bambu studio to use and monitor it. So i saved some money.
I've seen a bunch of folks install the panda touch on their p1s, but I honestly don't get it.. what do you do with the front panel display beyond scrolling down to the connection code so you can connect your printer to your slicer (and maybe enable local only mode if that's your preference as it is for me). beyond getting the connection code, pretty much every interaction (short of turning off the annoying exhaust vent fan sometimes when i grab a print), I do all the interacting with my printer with the slicer app on my computer (in my case, i'm a big fan of orca slicer, but bambu slicer does the same thing). you could even use the bambu app on your phone if you want (I never do, but you could). it does bug me a little bit that there's no webui on the p1s by default so I can't just use my phone's web browser like I do on all my other printers), but it's fine. - all of the adjustments you mention with the panda touch, I can do right in orca slicer or bambu slicer.
From what ive seen and people ive asked the people who have one or want a panda touch generaly seem to have been 3d printing for a while and are just used to using a screen on the printer. they seem to even like writing to an SD card and putting that in the printer and then having it print by the SD card. But for me this still would be an extremely limited usage case. Much like you i just use the Orca interface to control the printers. I just wish the cam was better or we could upgrade it. I bought / installed a panda lux a while back. When installing I saw the documentation said not to plug the original light into the board. That the combination of the two lights would exceed the expected current draw and cause errors.
It looks like you’re using both the panda lux and stock light at the same time… has that worked fine for you? I originally planned to use both too, I mean the multi port circuit board’s literally included with the package- but I’ve heard from users and even BTT that it only supports 0.3A of current so they say we shouldn’t use both lights at once. It’s so stupid for them to ship something and then say “don’t use it”- so if you’ve done it and it works fine then I’m gonna too
you have the same lines across some of your prints.. wonder why you are getting the same lines on diff prints? I will think on it. Thanks for the video~!
poop chute is certainly the first thing people should print on a bambu p1s/x1c. it's really an engineering defect that they didn't include one as part of the body of the machine (maybe magnetic?) - where did they think all the waste was going to go? on your workbench? it just seems like a huge oversight... like a pencil sharpener that doesn't have a place to store shavings and they just go everywhere... that's what we've got on the enclosed bambu units... it's bleh.
Its not a defect, its a shortcut. I feel like theres multiple examples of these with bambu labs where they basically just know people can and will make/print additions so why spend the money on it themselves? Frustrating for sure but of course always looking for ways to cut costs on themselves.
@@NoiseMakerX so that it's turnkey for people who are brand new to 3d printing. even if they included a decent model for one that they suggest printing in the manual, it could have been ok i guess, but the p1s is so close to being an amazing turnkey new-to-3d-printing experience, a little more polish would have been better. that and the absolutely shitty camera are my only 2 big complaints about it.
@@joshhardin666 The P1S is my first printer and I don't miss the poop chute and I think camera quality is fine for it's purpose, but sure it would have been about a dollar for it to be better.
@@NoiseMakerX I keep my printers in a different room than I'm usually in and like to monitor them in real time while printing. further, I like to stream my printing process to twitch and the camera that's included isn't up to snuff for either of these. i'm even ok with it being a 720p camera, the big problem is the frame rate. we only get maybe 3fps and it's pretty laggy. by the time i see that it's failed, it's already too late to hit pause and save a print.
i mean i printed some unneccessary things for my p1s like dustcover for almost ever hole it has , leadsrewcovers or frame for the display , but the purgestripbin is so fckn useless xd
i still don't understand the poop shoot box. i have a small cardboard box that fits in there, and what's the extra work of picking up a box and turning it over to dump it in a garbage?
I didn’t hear that. My printer is up-to-date as of now and it works fine. I guess we will have to see when there is a next update. The panda touch has firmware updates so they could make updates to make it work if it doesn’t with an update. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
why do ppl with bambu printers ALWAYS put the logo on their mods :D (i only have bambus myself but i dont get it). Thank you for the video. The best for upgrades ive seen so far. I will buy some of them when my P1S finally arrives.
What would be great is if the touch screen could replace the car radio screen, rather than be in addition to it - even though I appreciate the touch screen does it all.
Love the video, but hate the audio you recorded. Some tips: ) move your mic further away from your mouth. 2) stop projecting your voice. It sounds like youre trying to yell to be heard, and its an utterly exhausting thing to have to listen to in recordings. 3) reduce your mic gain a tad. Too many pops and plosions.
Are these Bambu labs approved mods? This is a legitimate question not me trolling. I feel really uncomfortable modifying my really expensive printer that works literally perfectly, unless it’s Bambu Labs approved. They do offer some of their own upgrades and they work great.
The lawsuit has really made me think twice about purchasing another BL printer. Had my mind set on the P1S after owning the A1 Mini, but I'm holding off for now.
I'm the opposite, I wasn't in a hurry, but now that the lawsuit is going, I think I want to get one incase Stratasys wins... I suspect all printers are going to be affected if that is the case...
@@IrocZIV you could be correct. That’s another reason I’m won’t buy another BL. If something happens to it and I can’t get parts it becomes a brick. A Prusa, being totally open source, I can fix.
If stratasys wins every piece of the lawsuit, it will affect all your printers, open source or not. Open source printers will have the affected Git repos get taken down overnight. Stratasys is a patent troll that doesn't care (or probably doesn't want) the hobby level machines to even exist.

Did you pay for the items your installing, Lux LED. I ordered the LED light when I order the Panda Touch which work well. The problem is with the LED lite, their customer service. After installing the lite I lost the camera, printer stop printing and control screen shut off. Remove lite and reconnected the OME lite. Pulled control screen off and disconnected and reconnected the plug on the back of the control screen. Trun printer back on and the printer starting printing and the screen works. But no camera. Contacted customer service for help and got nothing but bullshit from them, also ask for refund and return have not got anything from them whatsoever. Then went on some P1S and Bambu forums and found out what happen to me has happened to others with the same no customer service help. BTW still no camera. Total piece of crap if you ask me.
Oh man. I still have my camera and it’s working just fine. I haven’t heard of this issue at all. Did you try to do a factory reset on the printer? Maybe that would get it back. Sorry you’re having issues with it.
It looks to me like you really need to learn a cad program. These are relatively easy projects to design. No reason to rely on trying to use someone else’s solutions.

It’s so stupid for them to ship something and then say “don’t use it”- so if you’ve done it and it works fine then I’m gonna too
So I wasn’t having any issues. I’ve been told by a lot of people not to have both so just recently unplugged the main light and just have the lux.
For AMS spools dessicant cores NeedItMakeIt is brilliant. Makes sure to print in vase mode 6 bottom layers and 0.7 thicknesses.
Can I ask where you found the print for your "utility box"?
I'm curious as well!
I went ahead and put the link to it in the description.
@@ItsMeaDMaDe Thanks very much!
P1S mods! the poop shoot is of X1 Carbon (not for P1S, it is to large).
Yeah, I just discovered that too.... Which one did you go for?
Hmm…. is P1S and X1 Carbon same size. ?
I edited my purge size so it's quite abot smaller so i can print all the way up to the edge in that area
It's a shame that the light strip doesn't match the color temp of the stock strip. The two tone warm and cool looks bad. 20:48
And they shouldn't be on at the same time either. Too much voltage for the connectors apparently, according to Bambu Lab.
I thought the Panda didn’t work since a Bambu update. Is that fixed by Bambu or BTT now then?
Glad I didn't buy it - had it sitting in cart. Thanks for the heads up!
@@PerfectPudding Waiting for Bambu to release their own version to purchase separately soon.
Noob question here. Can you print things over top the purge strip? I'm afraid to populate that area of the build plate. Thank you!
you have the same lines across some of your prints.. wonder why you are getting the same lines on diff prints? I will think on it. Thanks for the video~!
Can you remove the screen the P1s comes with? Keeping both screens is a little aesthetically unpleasing
poop chute is certainly the first thing people should print on a bambu p1s/x1c. it's really an engineering defect that they didn't include one as part of the body of the machine (maybe magnetic?) - where did they think all the waste was going to go? on your workbench? it just seems like a huge oversight... like a pencil sharpener that doesn't have a place to store shavings and they just go everywhere... that's what we've got on the enclosed bambu units... it's bleh.
Its not a defect, its a shortcut. I feel like theres multiple examples of these with bambu labs where they basically just know people can and will make/print additions so why spend the money on it themselves? Frustrating for sure but of course always looking for ways to cut costs on themselves.
No matter what they may have included people would have printed alternatives anyway so why include it at all?
Awesome video my friend!!!
Thank you very much!
i mean i printed some unneccessary things for my p1s like dustcover for almost ever hole it has , leadsrewcovers or frame for the display , but the purgestripbin is so fckn useless xd
I use the priming strips as material to solder parts together with
i still don't understand the poop shoot box. i have a small cardboard box that fits in there, and what's the extra work of picking up a box and turning it over to dump it in a garbage?
I found a poop slide and have a trash bin next to my the table. All the poops and purge strips and support go in there
I thought I read that the panda touch might not be functional with bambu future updates.
I didn’t hear that. My printer is up-to-date as of now and it works fine. I guess we will have to see when there is a next update. The panda touch has firmware updates so they could make updates to make it work if it doesn’t with an update. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
@@ItsMeaDMaDethe 1.04 firmware out today solves the problem, the beta has been working great. Sadly my panda touch also died today 😂
Thanks!
You bet! Thanks a lot!!
why do ppl with bambu printers ALWAYS put the logo on their mods :D (i only have bambus myself but i dont get it).
Thank you for the video. The best for upgrades ive seen so far.
I will buy some of them when my P1S finally arrives.
What would be great is if the touch screen could replace the car radio screen, rather than be in addition to it - even though I appreciate the touch screen does it all.
where is the file for the side spool holder? It's not in the description
I missed putting that in. Sorry. I just put it in the description
@@ItsMeaDMaDe ok tysm needed this
i heard now a days you can no longer use that screen on the p1s till bambu provides an update to the firmwhere some issue about it not shure
I want to buy one, would you recommend p1s
Can you remove the panda touch screen and still use it? Or does it always have to be on the dock?
Can you use the screen upgrade with the AMS system?
These are not Bambu approved mods. This is for those people that want to tinker with there printer
The lawsuit has really made me think twice about purchasing another BL printer. Had my mind set on the P1S after owning the A1 Mini, but I'm holding off for now.
Buy the BL
@@Obtuse94 that’s one good reason to use printers offline and have a dedicated comp offline as well. Then again. Chinese companies aren’t going to abide by U.S. law. Never have. And having China take us over after we default on our debt (unless we raise taxes to 90%) they will care even less. Wait. Maybe I’m making the case to buy another Bambu 🤫
Do these mods work on the x1c or is there a separate video?
How well does the panda touch work with the AMS?
Can you please show us how to print small part with fill bed with copies option, I want to print small model but it always fails🙏🏻🙏🏻
In bambu lab studio, should I add more heat of what I can do with textured PEI plate
What do you do when the filament is stuck
Any fix for the really really really crappy camera?
Only one of your recommendations is truly a mod, the purge bin and holder, maybe the Beveled inside Edge and that's debatable. All others doesn't improve the quality of my prints, nor the time or the experience during maintenance. Please, review the title since the rest aren't really mods that worth.
Is a PS1 worth $550.00 slightly used. Looks brand new?
My P1S doesn’t scan the buildplate. Are u talking about the X1?
i have never seen a error on my P1S i have even printet on my ender 3 buildplate

BAMBU CARBON X1 POOP SHOOT (PURGE BIN) not Printable on P1s, its to big....
At 20:23 there is an omission error - it should state at this point that you - plug the 2 male plugs into the female PCB board. This step was missing.
Do you use both lights at once? I wanna but BTT “warns” not to because the current its rated for tops at 0.3A, so I dunno if it’s safe for the hardware to run both lights at once.

Purge Strip Holder?? So... a simple trash can does not work anymore?
Don’t pull the tape for the magnetic 🧲 light you’re be sorry . Seriously.
Dude.. Just print the QR code and stick it on the build plate...
Can i use a small ipad instead of a Panda Touch?
Do you have a link for the side mount spool holder please.
Sorry about that thought I had it in there I just put it in the description.
It's kinda dumb they don't have that light on USB. If it was on USB you could use both. And the swappable nozzles would be awesome.
i am having the worst time with the ams system could you do an "all you need to know" tutorial on the ams system how to use it, how to load the filament into the printer, etc, etc. i have a P1S and its great but i cant figure out the ams system and im ready to just use the spool holder instead and cut out this headache. i am a first time user and ive made 2 benchys so far but i have to fight with my ams just to get a print! yes i realize it is almost certainly user error but that is why i am requesting the video. any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!
Has anyone tried to operate the P1S without the original control panel so you can mount the Panda Touch in its place? Will the printer even function without it?
Holy poop! So it's back there it ends up lol. Great tip, I need a poop bucket, wonder how much poop it's back there now. I thought it already was a poop bucket somewhere in the printer. Apparently not lol. Thank you for this great video.
Whatever filament you’re using on those first layers is kinda junky. I use those plates and without changing anything I get perfect squish. Polymaker and Elegoo filaments do the best.
Wy do you even use the screen? I have used it 3 times in 1k hours of printing
Poop Holder - So....., you never empty the trash in the kitchen either ?
Panda Lux LOL! Get a LED strip. GTFO
You got stuff free. That's enough to cast doubt on impartiality. If you give something a bad rap...no more freebies for you.

the purge bin cannot be printed on the Bambu printer (too big) - well that makes no sense!!
I printed mine on the p1s, had no problems.

@@ItsMeaDMaDe Did you pay for the Panda touch and Lux Led or did they send them to you
It looks to me like you really need to learn a cad program. These are relatively easy projects to design. No reason to rely on trying to use someone else’s solutions.
Am I the only one who thinks keeping purge strips in a holder is dumb? They immediately go in the trash for me...
It’s dumb but the dude is just having fun his own way
Everything except the spool holder felt like massive copium... It felt like a used car sales man trying to sell me a product I really dont want..
