Thank you so much for flooding our lives with the sweet sweet memories of the past and for enabling us to pass these recipes on to whoever in the next generation will listen… and although it takes a while they will ! NOW I have been searching for the Proustian taste of my grandma’s perfect Bhartica(sp?) . No recipe on the internet seems to have captured the taste. I am able to get fresh coconut….step 1…
Thanks for sharing this oh! so yummy recipe. Brings back old memories of my dear Mama (RIP), making all these sweets in good times and struggling times, without fail every Christmas! Personally shopping those years for the best yet not too expensive ingredients, and every sweet lovingly hand made with great effort .. to perfection, soft, melting in the mouth yummy Christmas sweets! And sharing these with our neighbours was an integral part of Christmas celebrations! God Bless!
Thanks Zenobia, I’m so happy that you are enjoying my recipes. I hope you have subscribed to my channel cause there are many more delicious recipes to come.
This was my first time making guava cheese ...m glad i referred to your recipe Wendy ma'am.. thankyou so much for the detailed explanation...my guava cheese turned out to be extremely delicious 😋
This delicious Goan Guava Cheese, Is a mouthwatering tease. It goes through a process of blending, To be cooked with sugar on simmering, Stirring continuously to avoid burning, The mixture is now reading for cutting. Well set for the taste test, Wendy your Guava Cheese is the Best. ❤❤👌👌😋😋
Thank you for showing how you test it in water! No one ever shows that important step 🤗 please do a dodol recipe and show how you test it to see if it's ready 👌

I will try I miss this sweet treat too much - in El Salvador it’s so easy to buy instead of cooking it yourself but in Australia it’s hard to find it and my work friend that used to make it for me retired a few years ago and I haven’t had this delicatessen again so I will give it a go thanks for the video

3 days ago I had commented that I would try out your recipe 😋 of Guava cheese 🧀. Today 13th November 2022 Sunday tried your recipe and oh my goodness, it just turned out perfect 🥰. Profound thanks to you and may your channel grow 🙏. GBU.
We used to get canned guavas at Coles, but not any more, I used to love having this pink canned stewed guavas with custard. We do get Asian guavas but no flavour whatsoever, just like mangoes. But I could probably make it with Quinces. We get the ready tinned guava cheese, product from Brazil.
Hi Wendy, have never seen Guava Cheese look this neat and perfect. Am going to give it a try too. However we dont get guavas here in NZ, have guava pulp in packets. Would I be able to use that?
Myra you could definitely use the guava pulp or even canned guavas. Consider yourself lucky 😂one step less😜. You don’t need to steam the pulp or the canned guavas simply pass it through a sieve to catch any seeds if any. Hope that helps. Enjoy!
Do you have the recipe for milk toffee. - sift and crumbly but holds it shape and tastes divine. My grandma sent tins of it when I was a boarder in Panchgani .
I loved the recipe and the confidence within me built up so much that I tried the recipe twice. Only first time some seeds fell inside the mixture due to using a different sieve instrument but the second time it turned out perfect. Only one question, the water testing tip did not work for me as I put the mixture in the greased tray but it did not come out when I turned it upside down. Had to use a knife...can you help in understanding what went wrong?
I too used a knife to help it release from the pan. A vacuum is caused and so it needs help to release from the pan. You have mastered the art of making Guava Cheese👏🏻 I’m so happy 😊
