Thank you (from Australia). Lots of Jawas and CZ's on the road when I was growing up in New Zealand in the 1960's. But I never saw one of these. My brain sees a 350 two stroke even though I know it's a 500 four stroke.
Norton, Nimbus, Ducati and racing BMWs used bevel gears and there were plenty more. They were relatively common at some point but expensive and noisy so got replaced by other methods to drive overhead cams.

i like the forms of that Jawa 500 OHC, the forms look round & harmonic together, cute; the round housing of the headlight that flows into the fork below and the little duck tail on the front fender, a nice sight. i would like that bike in a dark gray color or light blue. there should be shield in front of the knees and lower legs of the rider, that would protect the legs more and the wind drag would be lower, so that the fuel consumption decreases and topspeed can be higher with less wind drag. there is some nice classic bikes in this channel.
@@retiredbore378 i dont know that many different bike models, maybe there would be some british designed bike that looks as nice as that Jawa 500 OHC, i dont know. have you seen the other bikes in this channel ? that PMZ-A-750 for example, that thing looks sturdy and has cute round forms too, similar to the BMW R11, nice classic bikes from the past.
The 500 OHC can hardly be the last four-stroke motorcycle from Jawa since Jawa is producing four-stroke motorcycles as we speak, the first production model since the 500 (not counting prototypes, test series etc.) appearing in 2003. Maybe they meant 'the last four-stroke engine from Jawa'? That would be true, but maybe not much longer, as Jawa has had their own 1000cc and 1200cc engines in the testing stage for quite a while now.
Jawa 500 is great motorcycle that you can use and bring you every where😎😎😎
Without brakes 😂😊

The engine is way too powerful for it's frame.
The frame would often twist and bend, sometimes even crack.
One of the most beautiful bikes I’ve seen. Why cant they build simple elegant motorcycles like this anymore?
Cos it would be far too expensive.
What a beautiful beastie! And that sound was amazing!
Thankyou so much for sharing that wonderful machine with us.

Like how the bars mount inside the extended nacelle.
As per Triumph motorcycles.
I freaking love it…!
Very unique way to drive the cam and overhead valves …!
Not usual but far from unique.

sounds like a modern CB500 lights!
old is gold
By far best motorbike from behind iron curtain. Avo Simson was second best.

The engine looks like the Kawasaki's w 650 with the driven train.
