Eventually they made a good one and I think Subaru made a joke about bathing in mayo. Rem took it seriously and filled his bath with mayo. Subaru jumped in it without thinking and was covered in mayonnaise and he tried to tell her not to do this but rem took it as Subaru saying it wasn’t enough mayo so we have this.

His phone does seem to have a long lifespan, but he is hardly using it. and phones used to last a lot longer before smartphones came around. That ice shogun gag was indeed a Konosuba reference, the two authors are actually good friends. Rem does indeed love Subaru now, and yes, she is a bit obsessed lol. Originally there was only about a 2 week gap between the events of the previous episode and the next episode, but as the author added more and more side stories, it has since become a 2 month gap between the episodes. This OVA features a few of those side stories. So the next episode takes place approximately 2 months after Subaru saved the village from the Ulgarm.

I can't imagine what would cause rem and subarus relationship to change its almost like he risked his life several times to save her, protected what was important to her, and helped her resolve truama from her past giving her a sence of independent self worth. Oh wait he also cleared up the misunderstanding that he was connected to the group that massacred Rems home town and family. Also a much more significant chunk of time has past so she finally has known him for longer than 4 days. Not to mention the lack of any iminante threat to there lives.

Dude, this was the cutest side story episode I've seen in a while. Re:Zero is legit one of those shows I could literally watch for hours on end and never get sick of it. Legit 10/10 series so far, and there is really not a lot of series I could say that about.
This is prob one of the most critical OVAs ( Original Video Animation ) for any anime as it gives you a massive look into character development that will help you later in the anime.
Great, he has some good people guiding him with Re:Zero. Always important for a reactor. Most people watch the first OVA after season 1 but it slots just so much better after Arc 2. Takes the stakes higher for Arc 3 :P

Personally I think it's better to watch after season 1, even if it does chronologically take place after ep 6 of the Director's Cut. It's really only 99% cannon and has some things that could be consider spoilers.
I think it might be better experienced after season 1. It shows a few things which lessens the surprises later on in this season and has so many callbacks which will be lost if seen after Arc 2. I feel the best way to watch it is after Arc 3, where you recognize some callbacks and are thus much more attentive to other things in case they turn out to be foreshadowing, which a lot of them do.
Such a cute "episode" as you titled it is definitely spot on! I know right now it does seem like Rem isn't romantically affectionate towards Subaru, but I could see her eventually getting to that point. It is nice to see her being so cute and following Subaru around though. She is a lot warming in personality as well where the opposite of it is Ram making fun of him and teasing him in a jokingly rude way at times which is also quite funny. This is such a nice change of pace of pure wholesomeness after all the blood and death we had up until now. Enjoyed your reactions as always, Luke! 😄

The perfect OVA. You can watch it before or after Frozen Bonds and it still feels good. You can also watch it chronologically, after season 1 or 2, or even before the entire show and it would fit.

I thought the same thing about Subaru's phone, but I guess there are multiple reasons as to why its battery hasn't died yet. First, Subaru has a feature phone, which is a type of mobile phone that looks like earlier generations of mobile telephones, typically with button-based inputs and a small non-touch display. Second, these types of phones use less battery since they are pretty much always in standby mode compared to regular smartphones that always have processes running in the background. Third, he pretty much never uses it and it's usually shut off, so he barely makes a dent in the battery life. I know right now it does seem like Rem isn't romantically affectionate towards Subaru, but I could see her eventually getting to that point. It is nice to see her being so cute and following Subaru around though. She is a lot warming in personality as well where the opposite of it is Ram making fun of him and teasing him in a jokingly rude way at times which is also quite funny. This is such a nice change of pace of pure wholesomeness after all the blood and death we had up until now. Enjoyed your reactions as always, Luke! 😄

I thought the same thing about Subaru's phone, but I guess there are multiple reasons as to why its battery hasn't died yet. First, Subaru has a feature phone, which is a type of mobile phone that looks like earlier generations of mobile telephones, typically with button-based inputs and a small non-touch display. Second, these types of phones use less battery since they are pretty much always in standby mode compared to regular smartphones that always have processes running in the background. Third, he pretty much never uses it and it's usually shut off, so he barely makes a dent in the battery life.
