Seth called out "my people" to the jackals in the audience and it made me so happy! What a treat to have Mike, who's a friend of Seth and a fan of the show, interview our Seth. I had been waiting for someone to publicly praise his interviews. He's the only one who has a warm and real conversation and you can always see the guests end up delighted.
Corrections is what I miss the most with the writers being on strike. Kick some executive butt and get the fair compensation you deserve, then COME BACK and do more!
Couldn’t agree more, I’ve missed Corrections more than any show. It was such a nice way for him to connect with us, and I appreciated that he put in so much effort to see us and reciprocate the love in the only language we understand- snarky remarks overflowing with sarcasm.
Late Night is the only talk show I watch since Conan left. I’ve been really impressed with Seth and his team leaning into the weirdness more and not rely solely on political commentary. Hoping the WGA/SAG unions are paid what they’re worth soon enough so the show can come back.
Totally agree. Even miss his shows from during the pandemic where it was quiet and just Amber laughing in the background. He really got me through that thing.
As a Jackal, I am *SO* disappointed to not have been able to go see John Oliver's performance together with Seth Meyers in NYC. By the time I found out about the show, most tickets were sold out. It would've been a dream to see the two of them on stage in NY.
@@marikokelchen John Oliver is on tour doing standup shows. I think he just started this past weekend. John performed at the Beacon Theatre NYC August 17, 18, and 19th, *with* Seth Meyers! I nearly went by myself on Thursday because there were only single seats left by the time I found out about the shows. Then John Oliver continues his tour on his own in Philly, Boston, Seattle… I can’t make it to Boston because I’ll be bringing my son to college then. It would be awesome if one of the shows was filmed. Just saw a NYT article that said it was 50 minutes of each if them plus a Q&A after.
Shoutout Seth for mentioning that teachers are incredibly comfortable in required social discussions. I improvise a lot of dialogue alongside 100+ high school seniors (tough crowd & even worse scene partners) for 182 days a year.
In my head cannon, Seth has been at impressions camp during the entirety of the writers’ strike. This interview helps prop that up, Seth’s impressions have only improved. Give those camp counselors a raise before they strike too!
I'm so in love with Seth. He has to be the hottest guy that ever came out of New Hampshire. But he's also so authentic and charming. The conversational tone he has with his guests, going off-book, day drinking, corrections and Jokes Seth Can't Tell all put him above the rest yet he remains grounded.
Been following corrections from the start proud to be a Jackal .. miss late night soooo much and corrections even more . Praying the strike gets resolved soon 🙏🙏
I'm rewatching this interview and watching the last part for the first time. Not because of the content,.. I just got busy like a year ago. Great interview, Mike. Thank you for mentioning The show' "The Great". It is ground breaking. What I love about Seth Meyers is how he treats people, but most impressive is how his friends love him. They love him because he loves back. He is genuinely concerned about people and our country, his intelligence, quick wit, freaking common sense approach to this world helps me feel better. Like okay, not everyone is insane. During the more insane times over the last 5 years or so, I turn to the Kings, the leaders of comedy and common sense and yes, humor. You distill the daily News into a something I can process with hope. humor is hope. You and these select few have quelled my fears and restored my sanity -Seth, Steven, Conan, Jimmy k, Jimmy o, and prior to that John Stewart and I must mention John Oliver as well.
my all-time favourite moment from parks & rec is werner herzog saying he's moving to orlando to live closer to disney world so it was great hearing about that scene and his aubrey plaza-induced trauma
My husband and I are rewatching Corrections in order because we miss him so much. 😿 Watching provides us with much needed laughs, but it’s bittersweet. We even rewatched Lobby Baby for the THIRD time. I can’t wait to share this with my husband. Thank you, Seth, for everything. You absolutely saved me from drifting into madness during the pandemic.
Oh my goodness...I'm getting old...I knew all those names. Miss you guys, still solidarity with the strikers...living wage and benefits aren't too much too much to ask for...not when the top brass is not sacrificing a dime. Positive vibes from New Hampshire, remember to be kind to each other and yourself during these trying times.
I'm glad he loves Corrections, because of how much I do. I'm also impressed he reads all rhe comments, but a little sad he hasn't talked about the comment I left about Cicada/Cicada-there's a recently discovered tragic cicada fungus that causes the bug to first produce LSD, then their butts fall off.
it's always funny that the voice and speech of Dr. Evil was completely based on Lorne Michaels for some reason. Not sure how much of the overall character is, but much it seems.
1) I'm disappointed that no Jackals "whoo'd" at 36:44 ; and 2) Seth's posed question: "If I just watch Corrections, but I haven't commented, am I a Jackal too?" 36:53 I don't know when we'll get another Corrections. So any thoughts, Jackals? I think if you watch more than 2-3 Corrections, you can be a Jackal, even if you don't comment. Anyone who is playing along with this game between Seth and his Jackals, is a Jackal. Cuz the troll who just writes, "This sux," isn't a Jackal even if he did write a comment.

I think that if you’re someone who watches the show regularly, including Corrections, and have at least thought some of the things that he discusses during Corrections, you can be a Jackal. Though really, one could argue that by asking if someone could be a Jackal despite not having commented on Seth’s TH-cam videos qualifies them to be a Jackal, as they clearly are a fan who wants to be part of the community. I’ve been watching Seth since SNL and as soon as he took over Late Night (and yes, I have the Jackal mug), and I think the Jackal community is meant to be open and welcoming to all who enjoy some back and forth teasing, nitpicking pronunciations and semantics, and terrible puns 🐾
