- Here is a quick video showing how to build a floating deck economically with used pallets.
*This deck is meant to be temporary (1-2 years max). Could be a functional addition in a backyard at a rental property, etc...any situation that is meant to be temporary. Using a water seal or paint on the pallets underneath would help some with durability.
For a more durable deck, one could use treated wood to build pallets or use a floor joist type construction method with treated wood.
You would also want to apply plastic or landscaping mesh/fabric to prevent grass from growing under the deck. - เพลง
This was great!!!! Where I live I can't build on the lawn or anything that would alter the property, so I decided to build it on my driveway and this was perfect It looks simple and inexpensive. I will definitely try it out. Thank you for sharing.❤
I absolutely love this!! Thank you
Such a smart idea! I may have to do this and treat the wood.
I want to thank you for this video. It's going to help me with my summer project.
Nice work!
Nice job and simple
You made it look easy! Would a level have been helpful? It looked level enough and you weren’t going for precision.
What will you use to coat it? Thank you.
Hi, this looks more economical than some of the other floating deck videos I've watched - any concerns w/ creepy crawlies getting underneath?
Year round, about every 2 months, I treat my backyard for insects. In addition to that, in the spring and summer I use snake repellent also.
How many pallets did he use and what size deck did he build
4 pallets
Why didn't you add something underneath, to elevate the wood from the dirt so it can last longer
Good point...depends on what kind of longevity is desired. I have had customers buy pallets from me that were renters and just wanted something to be for 2 years or less.
The pallets could be sealed/treated for ground contact or pavers could be used underneath as well.
