Key Features and Adjustments
Hydraulic and Foot-End Operated Controls: The 578EYEST model features intuitive hydraulic and foot-end operated crank handles that facilitate precise adjustments of the backrest and knee flex. This allows caregivers to easily modify the stretcher’s height, backrest angle, and leg section to meet specific procedural needs.
Trendelenburg/Reverse Trendelenburg: Equipped with pedals for Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg positioning, the 578 Series ensures optimal patient positioning during procedures.
Mobility and Safety
8-Inch Tente Casters: Standard on all units, these casters come with a central brake and steering system. The red pedals control braking, while the green pedals are used for steering, providing smooth and safe maneuverability. Always lock the caster braking system and ensure side rails are in the upright, locked position when the patient is not in transport or is left unattended.
Steering Mode: Engage the steering mode by fully depressing the green pedal, which deploys the fifth wheel for enhanced maneuverability. To release the steering lock, press down on any of the four red pedals until they are parallel to the floor, allowing all four casters to swivel freely.
Adjustable Patient Surface
Patient Surface Widths: The 578EYEST offers a 25-inch (64 cm) patient surface, while the wider 578EYXST provides a 30-inch (76 cm) surface, accommodating various patient sizes comfortably.
Weight Capacity: Each stretcher supports up to 500 lbs, providing robust performance for a range of procedures.
Precision Adjustments
Backrest and Knee Flex: Use the crank handles located at the foot end to adjust the backrest and knee flex. Rotate the crank clockwise to elevate, and counter-clockwise to lower. Always return the crank handle to its original position after adjustments.
Height Adjustment: Press the pump pedal to raise or lower the stretcher to the desired height. To adjust the litter top, press both release pedals simultaneously until the top reaches the desired position.
Enhanced Comfort and Positioning
Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg: Achieve 16 degrees of Trendelenburg and 16 degrees of Reverse Trendelenburg positioning using the release pedals-press down on the pedal closest to the head end for Trendelenburg, and the pedal closest to the foot end for Reverse Trendelenburg.
Articulating Head Piece: Our patented articulating head piece features dual control knobs for precise adjustment of the head and neck sections. The right knob controls head tilt (clockwise for downward, counter-clockwise for upward), while the left knob adjusts chin tilt (clockwise for downward, counter-clockwise for upward).
Versatile Rails and Extensions
Adjustable Rails: The rails on the 578EYEST stretcher can be positioned at full height, intermediate height, or fully stowed to accommodate various patient needs.
IV Rods: Permanently mounted 3-stage IV rods are located at the patient’s right foot end for convenience.
Head Extensions: Pre and post-op head extensions come standard. To remove, rotate the knobs counter-clockwise and pull out the extension. To install, slide the extension over the Fowler pins, push it into place, and tighten the knobs.
