Some of the earlier scenes are oddly familiar...people struggling financially and Conservative MPs quoting meaningless statistics at them in response instead of doing anything to help them. History really is cyclical.

I have followed this show since it started 34 years ago and never seen this before - what an excellent hour of entertainment - thanks for posting this!

Is it just me...or is the picture way out of sync with the sound from about 15 mins onwards? Such a shame..

Apart from the QT shown two days after 9/11 which made my blood boil. QT is one of my favourite shows on TV. John Smith handled that old bag like a gentleman. That audience on the 9/11 show is the most vile in QT history. David Starkey is QT gold. Ian Hislop humiliating Mary Archer was hilarious. Although Robin Cock was a mistake it perfectly described Robin Cook. Robin Day was and still is a legend. And how come they didn't show Christopher Hitchens masterfully destroying Baroness Williams.

It's a pretty good channel, although I get the distinct impression that the person who runs it is a bit of a freak xD

she is the bravest person i have ever had the good fortune to have come across.
her legacy lives on even if at this moment it seems lost.
i have no doubt that the next great prime minister will b someone who admires thatcher in the same way that she admired churchill.
iv got a feeling his name is nigel.......

The Nigel who has stood for Parliament seven times and lost comfortably on every occasion? The man who was bone idle when he was an MEP? You think he's like Churchill or Thatcher?

I find it very odd, that nobody dares to question the fact of the keen nepotistic nature of the BBC and media overall and David Starkey on an episode of QT. He is the son of a wartime corrospondent and in accordance with Reith's charter he would not be allowed to hold the rank of chairman.

I don't watch Question Time anymore. It is the mania for so-called "balance." I am with Paxman on this. There is no "balance" to be struck between truth and lies.

    that is exactly right.
take the issue of europe.... blair was determined to take us into the euro but when it became clear he might lose his job over taking us in he backed off.
thatcher on the other hand was prepared to lose her job on the issue of europe..... but in losing her power she made it impossible for a single currency to ever happen and 23 years on it looks more and more like we will pull out of europe sooner or later. all thanks to her.
she always wins in the end.

thatcheritescot Mrs Thatcher was antagonistic about Europe only after she left, unneccesarily frustrating John Major's government. She apparently signed the Single European act without understanding it. Hardly an excellent leader. See this

53:00 Typical Blair - the popular soundbite, and never mind the principle.
By contrast, I imagine Thatcher would have been unpopular at times on QT, but consistent.
