I think Aya did suffer enough. Think about how you would feel if your family, the people who are supposed to love and cherish you, pretty much all want you dead. It's scary enough to be pursued by a stranger, but by all the people you loved and trusted? Plus she has to watch all this stuff happen and know it was partially her fault(in some cases).
I mean I feel like the family wanting to kill you thing is a bit undercut. Not to mention the fact that she also has a foreign more powerful being that has its own individual spirit that she fears will take over her body. Oh and said entity's powers are dangerous, have killed multiple people, and are the reason she has to leave her entire life behind. Personally I say she suffers plenty.
I really liked Ayashi No Ceres despite the flaws of the anime compared to manga and insane death toll of their friends and sad ending (which wasn't that necessary IMHO).
i love yuu watase and miss watching her animes like fushigi yuugi and this one so here i am searching around for anything new from her and came across your videos!! even though they are old ones. i recently decided to read all of fushigi yuugi since its a classic for me and then ayasho no ceres but i didnt know there was so much missing from the manga. good to know!! i guess its definitely worth reading!! also if u havent read the manga as a viewer it was still pretty good haha. i only recently started watching arata the legend and decided to read that as well. i heard she decided the ending already for it so yay! glad u have videos about her!
With this Yu Watase would single handedly jnfluence all clamp writers to include a deceptively handsome and gentle man as the antagonist of every clamp anime for generations.
i actually thoroughly loved the manga :) it was great and the only manga i actually finished and wasnt dissapointed. i got the anime for my birthday one year.. and never finished it XD
This is one of the only manga that I have read so far, and its one of my favorite stories. What makes me said, is that it sounds like the anime isn't worth seeing.
i started watching ayashi no ceres maybe 20 times but each time found the plot forced and couldent stand it being in love with character development so on this and most thngs i compleatly agree with you.
Oh yeah there was a novel series that takes place after the events of the manga called Ayashi no Ceres Episode of Miku and it was a trip like abandoned islands, Aya getting to another knife attack this time by clone Miori that girl that died in the events of the manga, some virus outbreak thanks to Aya's rotten cousin Kagami, the old man of the Aogiri's bought it here and so much more. Just Google it if you don't believe me. Really just a trippy I tell you.
OMG ur soo true! i began watching it and im like okay good so far.... wait how the heck did they become a couple... why isnt she doing anything.. it doesnt explain much about the characters so i got lost :/ i think ill just stick to fushgi yuugi
....in the final Watase Yu review in the playlist I said I was surprised that you didn't cover this one, only to find this in my recommended videos today.....whoops. It seems you forgot to put this one in the playlist though.
This is old, but I'm comenting anyways XD I just finished he Anime and wanted to see other people opinion.I didn't read the Manga, but I cried and felt sorry more for Aki than Aya. His sacrifice was SO UNFFAIR!! The poor guy lost his agency compleatly basically since the beggining, while Aya was still able to be herself and find commonground with Ceres. Aki lost himself very earlly to The Ancestor, and dispite trying to fight back more at the end he lost Himself and his body. But seeing some opinions I don't see many adressing poor Aki xd I mean, is true I felt there was a lot of character development or precens missing, But it was enough for me... The only time I actully cried the most in te Anime was at the end with his sacrifice

I'd suggest reading the manga its fantastic, great story plot and it actually explains EVERYTHING.

is a shame that the anime was that short maybe if would have more episodes this would be better ...
The manga is SO good. After being a fan of the manga I saw some of the anime and it was so bad I couldn't even watch a lot of it >.

I never bothered to watch the anime, I didn't hear that many great things about it...but I LOVE manga!!
I never read or watch the series but it sounds like an anime vershion of the game of thrones.
Robyn, I only read the Mange to Ayashi no Ceres so I guess it's kind of a good thing that I didn't watch the Anime then.
