Reminds me of when I went to a family gathering a few years ago. One of my mom’s cousins asked me about anime cause she heard I had just gone to an anime con the week before. Episode 3 of Apothecary Diaries was a slow burn but the pay off honestly made me cry when Mao Mao explains the pay off. It's one of the few times Show and Tell pay off Beautifully. Despite most of the episode being exposition for a one time pair of characters, the build up with the explanations of the first two episodes sets up the Princess's love story amazingly well. We know the Emperor has to be a greedy mofo when it comes to gathering women, however like Jinshi says the women are never touched unless by the Emperor. The Princess played the Emperor knowing he expects perfection but knowing anything less and he won't touch her for fear of any flaws passing onto his bloodline. And being trapped in the Rear Palace no man would touch her under his protection, after that it was a matter of waiting and continuing to be less then appealing to the Emperor. Meanwhile her childhood love is literally fighting through barbarian hell in a war to hope his accolades can be enough to get her out of the Rear palace playing by the rules. When you put all this together and seeing them together it creates this instant emotional connection quite possibly in the running for fastest character investment for characters who didn't even have lines of dialogue. Even if Mao Mao gives us the bare minimum explanation she still leads the audience to piece it together with what we learned about the Politics of the Rear Palace and what the Princess and the Warrior Overcame to be together. Making it one of my personal favorite episodes.
Apothecary Diaries; I'm surrounded by incompetence, but I must do what's right while trying not to draw needless attention. Frieren; Immortality sucks.

Anyway, thank you for the great reviews. I can honestly tell these two shows had a deep effect on you. Thank you for sharing. 🫡🍷 Oh...... You have anything anime-wise you're looking forward to 2025 yet?!? Just wondering......
Its interesting to me that Apothecary Diaries amd Frieren often are paired together as the best anime. I love Apothecary but i couldn't finish Frieren and by goodness i tried. The only thing i found interesting in Frieren was how demons were presented with them acting human but being completely incapable of human emotions
Today I watched some dude go around Japanese streets and ask which anime they preferred, Frieren or Mushoku. The latter won by a decent margin. It's gonna stay as is I fear.
One mistake. Maomao gave a notes to stop using the cosmetics to both concubines. She did not give the notice to just one of them. However one tossed the note and one read it which leads to who ultimately keeps their child alive sadly.
I don't think i have been scolded by an anime, but Apothecary Diaries did. The show told me not to draw conclusions based on assumptions, but i did. Like an idiot.
I was amused when Frieren said they would stay in the town for a few decades, and Fern immediately admonishes her and says they're not staying more than a week
I don't think you watch a ton of GL/Yuri or BL/Yaoi anime outside of the likes of Sailor Moon or Revolutionary Girl Utena except for the Anime Awards when you did them, but I was wondering if you could give a review of any of the following (if you haven't already and would like to at some point): I'm In Love With the Villainess, Bloom Into You, Whisper Me A Love Song, High Rise Invasion, Yuri on Ice, Magical Revolution, Vexations of a Shut-in Vampire Princess, to name a few.
I enjoyed both. I'm all in if the seiyuu Aoi Yuki voices any MC of any anime. Frieren is a superior alternate to a badly reviewed Rings of Power. Even Asmongold did a comparison of Frieren to a shitty written Galadriel.
The voice acting in the Apothecary Diaries dub drives me nuts. Very much in the school of lets make all English anime dubbers sound the same and annoying.
I greatly enjoyed both of these anime, although I think I prefer Maomao over Frieren, but not by a huge margin, the 2 could trade places easily, both series are just that good, that either or, could be on top.
Frieren = 1. Live live for that 1% chance, Mimics be damned.... and 2. if that doesn't work, trust your AK-Fernty-Seven Apothecary Diaries = CSI China x Game of Thrones Much win.
Time stamps for anyone interested.

Anyway, thank you for the great reviews. I can honestly tell these two shows had a deep effect on you. Thank you for sharing. 🫡🍷
Oh...... You have anything anime-wise you're looking forward to 2025 yet?!? Just wondering......
This is too good.
Got anything planned for Halloween 🎃 season?
inspirational!........ 😁
I am surprised nobody realizes how Kvar´s scene is one of the best of Frieren... In a show full of great moments.
Thank you Jack 😂
One of my biggest regret not watching Apothecary Diaries sooner is missing out on the comments.
Sweet!
Gonna be real Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon are the type of fantasy anime we need more of. I have no idea why the default is Isekai
Today I watched some dude go around Japanese streets and ask which anime they preferred, Frieren or Mushoku. The latter won by a decent margin. It's gonna stay as is I fear.
I loved the apothecary diaries
Also I thought you NEVER took the rating scores of MyAnimeList seriously Robyn 🤪
AYYYYE THE FLAME TEST STRIKES AGAIN!
0:20 Wait... That's Azumanga Dayoh?
One mistake. Maomao gave a notes to stop using the cosmetics to both concubines. She did not give the notice to just one of them. However one tossed the note and one read it which leads to who ultimately keeps their child alive sadly.
I don't think i have been scolded by an anime, but Apothecary Diaries did.
The show told me not to draw conclusions based on assumptions, but i did. Like an idiot.
Don't sleep on 'Quality Assurance in Another World' and 'The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant'.
I was amused when Frieren said they would stay in the town for a few decades, and Fern immediately admonishes her and says they're not staying more than a week
Me like me happy, thank you🥰
I don't think you watch a ton of GL/Yuri or BL/Yaoi anime outside of the likes of Sailor Moon or Revolutionary Girl Utena except for the Anime Awards when you did them, but I was wondering if you could give a review of any of the following (if you haven't already and would like to at some point):
I'm In Love With the Villainess, Bloom Into You, Whisper Me A Love Song, High Rise Invasion, Yuri on Ice, Magical Revolution, Vexations of a Shut-in Vampire Princess, to name a few.
There is a review for Yuri on Ice.
I enjoyed both. I'm all in if the seiyuu Aoi Yuki voices any MC of any anime. Frieren is a superior alternate to a badly reviewed Rings of Power. Even Asmongold did a comparison of Frieren to a shitty written Galadriel.
Thoughts on bluey being in actual money??
I love how the best three anime of last year were female led.
The voice acting in the Apothecary Diaries dub drives me nuts. Very much in the school of lets make all English anime dubbers sound the same and annoying.
whats about dungeon meshi, thats also has solid female characters
I greatly enjoyed both of these anime, although I think I prefer Maomao over Frieren, but not by a huge margin, the 2 could trade places easily, both series are just that good, that either or, could be on top.
So, how's that script looking now?
Mao mao is best girl
There is no a between beyond and journeys.😁
correction: not court eunuch but court "eunuch".
So special
Frieren = 1. Live live for that 1% chance, Mimics be damned.... and 2. if that doesn't work, trust your AK-Fernty-Seven
Apothecary Diaries = CSI China x Game of Thrones
Much win.
I would say that Vinland sage season 2 was better but both of them are still amazing just not the best of 2023
"Buddies Daddies" was the best anime of 2023 to me, personal.
I agree with you but all 3 of these were just amazing.
Cool
Now pore the tea was my downfall in trying not to laugh
