Excellent! Kawasaki ZX1100 Turbo (AA Funny Bike-Category) ProStar Team Steve Rice. I remember back in 1988 to the 1990's racing up against the Orient Express Turbo Funny Bike. Great Days!
That's what's great about drag racing. You can keep doing it as you age. Paul Gats juts turned 70! Please also subscribe and share this channel with any of your motorcycle friends. Thanks!
OMG! I remeber reading anout this bike when he first built it, the first time someone used a ZX-11 motor instead of the usual KZ 1000 motor/cases! They went to some transmission manufacturer, problem was not making power but getting it to the ground! I remeber they quoted Steve as saying" Theylaughed at the current trannys, and built us a 2-speed tranny that would handle the power and stay together for a season, not just one run!" Thanks for the memories, let's get Steve on the bill with all the old guys, and have a REAL dragrace! One of my Kawasaki heros! Shiny Side Up, God Bless!
Good to see a ZX-11, they can still haul. Just about to hit the dyno with ours, hoping to improve on our best pass 9.76 @139 mph this season at Santa Pod, England

Here's another...BTW, SOOO cool that you were the announcer for that race of Larrys! Anyway...That time when I was racing at Atlanta, 2 of my grandsons, Robert and Christopher, were 5 and 8 years old, Robert was into Spiderman and Chris was into The Hulk. I made it a point to go over to Larrys pit, and introduced myself and said, "Sir, my grandson will be overjoyed that I actually got a chance to shake the hand of...SPIDERMAN!" Larry reared back, and laughed hard! Then I turned to Jimmy Brantley, shook his hand and said, "And Sir, my OTHER grandson will be very happy to know, I got to shake the hand oF...THE HULK
I have a few 17t turbos and a few stock turbos from bmw 335i n54. and my dad has a 1998 ZR-11, he has been trying to sale. I wonder what a zr-11 with a 17t turbo would be like. I haven't ever driven a motorcycle. Think it will be a good starter bike?
Sorry, hit the wrong button! Anyway, Larry said" I tell you what, come to my pit after the race, and we'll both sign a poster for your grandsons!" I was in awe! And I saw them after the race, they both broke away from packing up to sign a poster for them! I'll never forget the look on the faces of my grandsons, when I got home, I said ," Robert, Christopher...guess who I saw at the races?" "Who, Grandpa?" Then I unrolled the poster for them..and said "I got to meet...SPIDERMAN, and, THE HULK! And the gave me this just for you 2!" The had signed it," To Robert, From Larry "Spiderman" McBride" and "To Christopher, From Jimmy "The Hulk' Brantley"! Those kids eyes got about as big as dinner plates, and all they could say was "WOW, GRANDPA!" Made my week, and those kids whole month! Two examples of the fine sportsmanship of some of the greats of motorcycle drag racing! A memory I'll always enjoy! THANK YOU, Larry and Jimmy! You made a couple of little kids very happy! Godspeed, God Bless!

Wish Fontana was still running. Oh well, just another reason to hate nascar.
It was never runing right from the second he started it. What a mess!
