That is so thoughtful. I am wondering if there are some videos about the history of some genres' developments like sci-fi or musicals. I know Sci-fi has experienced a serval phases to get where it is now from industrialization types to the space-adventure types. For musicals, I am kind of curious how it is transformed from the stage to the movie screen. Haha, hope I am not asking for too much. Only my personal ideas, no pressure. Because you guys did a great job already~
This was beautifully ended. I was going to do countless hours of research on a time line of cinema but this was like a gift from god. Thank you so much!
How things change just within a decade, guys talking about multimedia not being able to sufficiently market a feature-length film. Snyder Cut anyone? Streaming has changed the game. You guys should definitely make a follow-up video in this series.
I watched all episodes "de una sola vez" and now I feel I have a much better understanding of cinema, especially american cinema. Felicitaciones! Muy buen trabajo!
+ProJatior Thanks for watching! We also have a series on Film Genres and Hollywood that comes out to about the same runtime, maybe a little longer. We hope to do more series like this in the future.
I hope to watch more. This reminds me of taking some of my first film classes. Since then I've paid more attention to channels like Turner Classic Movies and keep discovering more moving pictures. Sometimes films that have been remade can be particularly interesting. It's fun to watch special effects films like King Kong and see where we're going in terms of special effects.
I know I have hindsight but I feel we are entering a new era, the last age of film. I mean physical film, I feel after this era there will no longer be a use for film. Only in novelty ways. It has become so expensive and long for waiting that developing film cost money and time. I have started developing my still photography and my do the same with my 8mm as well. As a filmmaker working on a film there is a limit on genres but and infinite amount of possibilities to fit inside of the confounds. I think we are on the edge of greatness and can’t wait for a new age of young people coming in and creating a new movement after this pandemic. I wonder how it will be remembered
I suspect that some aspects of this new current era are the rise of direct-to-screen movies and the fact that tv shows are finally reaching the same level of production and artistic quality of movies. Shows like HBO's Game of Thrones, Westworld, His Dark materials, etc. as well as Netflix's The Witcher and the upcoming Amazon Lord of the Rings show really help to illuminate the increased budget and production quality. But ultimately I'd say we are at the beginning of the Era of Streaming. Power is shifting away from the traditional production companies and is being consolidated into streaming services which now dominate cinema of all kinds, globally.
@@peterlewis2178 true but I do know the traditional movie will live on, I feel drive in movies are taking over now. I feel that’s good. Streaming is widely available, but it’s the student projects. The things that come out of nowhere that will push this medium and I feel we will see it’s effects. And I don’t want to miss my shit so I find it all very interesting.
Man I hadn't realized how boring and pathetic contemporary cinema has become from the late 2000s to present with major movie studios. A decline in film writing and innovation and risky chances in favor for political agenda pandering, politically correct, lazily written stories, reboots and sequels. If you want potential movies, you have to go to independent cinema.
Why can't I find quality like this ? Super super super job!
I have to say that this entire series of film history helps me learn a lot, especially for my assignments! Thanks!
+Dennis We're glad we could help. If there's any other videos that would help with class, please feel free to suggest.

Closed Captioning was terrible to read. Impossible to watch for a deaf person :(
People who pronounce theater as thee-ater cannot be trusted
I pronounce it Thee it tor or ter and spell it theatre.
