Right. He has heart-felt lyrics, and mostly good ones, which you can especially tell by looking at the songs he wrote himself. It sets him apart from some of the other groups which were more lighthearted and maybe sometimes got too cliched with their songs.
The dust cover contains this note: _"...Willie banks and the Messengers are some of the finest people we have ever had the privilege to work with."_ I don't have any personal knowledge but, right or wrong, my sense has always been that Mr. Banks "had the goods," that he was a card carrying brother in the Lord. I will be happy to share eternity with him.
