- In this lesson, we'll learn how to choose strumming patterns for ukulele songs in the 6/8 time signature. We'll use You've Got to Hide Your Love Away by The Beatles as an example, but songs like We Are The Champions. House of the Rising Sun, Norwegian Wood and Rainy Day Woman #35 are a few others you can try on your own.

This was really great. I can see the improvement. Thanks so much.
This. Was. Awesome. Such a fun strumming pattern, and so great to play a Beatles’ song. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello from Taiwan! Another great lesson! I can't wait for the Beetles play along.
Oh it’s going to be a fun one! I’m thinking about doing an entire series on The Beatles actually. Thanks for learning with me :) - Kevin | www.alforuke.com/song-library |

I felt like there was a lack of good strumming explanation in the ukulele world. I’m trying to change that! Worksheet pdfs for this series are avail on my new site if you’re interested. All the best - Kevin (www.allforuke.com/lessons)
You are a great teacher. Don't know how to access the sheets you spoke of.
Cracking once again Kevin.
Cracking! I love that term. Thanks for tuning in Les and if you’d like more learning tools, check out my new site www.allforuke.com - I added some worksheets and practice jam tracks. All the best - Kevin
Just finished this series, love it, between you and coronavirus my uke skills are really improving. I would like to play Golden Brown by the Stranglers. I looked up the time sig like you said, its a 6/8, (with a bridge of 7/8 that I'm pretending isnt there). But I cant seem to fit in a whole measure of 6/8 strumming, only can fit in 3/4 strum. Is it just because I need to strum twice as fast?
Thanks again,
N
Hello, I've a question Kevin. How can I stop the string to make a sound when I lift finger when switching chords?
Hey - can you send a video example of what you’re referring to @allforuke on Instagram?
Uau - thank you!!!!!! 😍😘😍😘😍

Does this pattern work with Eight Days a Week?
Just checked and Eight Days a Week is in 4/4 time so these patterns wouldn’t work. I would suggest trying the patterns from Day 1. If you’d like some worksheets to help you with this series, check out www.allforuke.com/lessons - Thanks for learning with me ~Kevin
