Awesome powerful software! Thanks for the tutorial. I now need ACDSee! It’s so flexible and easy to use with a bit of instruction. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the informative video. Please clarify a doubt. When we have to edit a JPEG file, how to decide if we should use the Develop mode or the Edit mode? One factor to consider, I feel, is that in Develop mode, we cannot copy a brush selection from one tab to another. Hence, when we have to make diverse modifications to one selection, the adjustment layers are a better option. Please let me know if there are other aspects to consider. Thanks.

You are correct that there is no flexibility for copying brush selections in Develop mode. However, Develop mode does allow easier creation of multiple masks when using the brush or gradients and those can be turned on/off. Develop mode has a limited (although pretty broad) range of factors which can be adjusted with masks. In Edit mode, the masks for the filters are less flexible than in Develop mode or with the masks in layers. The ability to copy masks in layers is a big plus. Another thing that Edit mode provides which is not available in Develop mode is Pixel Targeting. I didn't cover it in this Edit tutorial, but will in a future video. Pixel Targeting allows selection of Pixels based on color or tone and the selection produces a mask which can be combined with gradient or brush masks for the final adjustment.
Using Edit mode allows for a lot of flexibility, but can get complicated. I usually try to do everything in Develop mode and use Edit mode only when I can't produce what I want in Develop mode.
Thank you for questions and comments and thank you for viewing.

@@MontanaMonk Thanks a lot for the comprehensive reply. Looking forward to your video on pixel targeting. I started using ACDSee about two months ago only. When you use the develop mode, the edit mode with filters, or the edit mode with adjustment layers, the options available are vastly different for some of the variables (Light EQ for example). This is a bit confusing for newbies like me, and I am sure that we will be benefitted from your videos. Thanks once again.
