I’m teaching my 14yo daughter how to crochet , and much like me , she is wanting to skip blankets and make animals! I found this patter to test for her and it’s wonderful! I made it in one evening , and I’m back now to write the pattern and watch the video in full. Thank you for this she is going to be making her very first stuffie when she returns from vacation!!
Same. I've been crocheting for nearly 18months. Octopus are easy and a great start. Also if you feel brave get a grooming brush and try a squirrel (the brush is to fuzz up the tail). If she doesn't want to do whole blankets practice squares for more trickier stitches are perfect !
that’s lovely :D, im 13, and it’s kind of the other way around for me haha, my mom is asking me to teach her how to crochet 😅 but i can’t seem to find the time.
I love this tutorial! It was so easy to follow and I could adjust it to make smaller jellyfish. For a medium sized jellyfish I stopped at row 5 of increases (30 stitches), did 5 rows of no increase or decrease, then did one row of decreases normally (24 stitches) and finally the last three rows of decreases in the back loop only. I ended up having 6 tentacles and did the fluffy border/popcorn-like stitches the same way you did it. For a small sized jellyfish I stopped at 4 rows of increases (24 stitches), did 4 rows of no increase or decrease, then did one row of decreasing normally (18 stitches), and finally did the last 2 rows of decreases in the back loop only. I made the tentacles a little shorter and slip stitched every 2 stitches instead of 3. After my last tentacle, I slip stitched 2 and then slip stitched to join into the first round of BLO. And for the fluffy border I used half double crochets instead of double crochets to make it smaller. I find that this size is perfect for a small keychain.

I made a little adjustment: instead of tracking back to the front loop, starting from round 14, I make 15 popcorn stitches with 7 dc stitches each one. Round 14: [pop(7dc), chain 1, skip the next stitch] x 15 Round 15: 30sc Round 16: [3sc, dec] x 6 Round 17: [2sc, dec] x 6 Round 18: After you joined the round with a slip stitch, chain 20, skip 2 and make 18 dc on the chain. Decrease with slip stitch in the next 2 stitch. Slip into the next stitch and repeat all the steps. To make the tentacles look more vividly (each tentacle has a different length), you could customize the chain number. Leave a long tail and cut the yarn, fasten off. Use a tapestry needle to close the jellyfish.

I love this tutorial so much I have made 12 jelly fish and am making more. I wanna make a HUGE one now.
Can you please help me? The video shows that the direction was reversed. In round 7, the stitches were worked from left to right, but after the video cut, the stitches were worked from right to left. How can I reverse the direction, and in which round should I do it? Please help.
@@Bochiiah454I'm sorry I'm confused on what u mean 😭

Oh why😭😭, I’m struggling to make this jellyfish because the instructions in the video aren’t clear. The stitches were worked from left to right in round 7 in this part (4:48) , but after the video cut, they were worked from right to left in this part (5:22) . I can’t figure out how to reverse the direction or in which round to do it. Can you please help me?
I have an order that I have to deliver tomorrow
@@Bochiiah454 I'm confused on what u mean by they changed direction? The entire time rows 7-12 u crochet from the right to left? Ur not exposed to change direction ur just exposed to crochet in a full circle for rows 7-12 I think I may be misunderstanding what ur confused about 😭

So cute !!! I loved how mine turn out. I did my own count for the rows n increased stitch because i wanted to make mine 2x larger haha~~ very helpful tutorial!!!
thank you so much it was so easy to follow as a beginner! and she's so cute. one thing, I don't know if I missed it or you didn't tell in the video, but it would have been nice to know how much yarn we needed.. I don't have enough to finish so I don't know how I will manage :( I am a foreigner so maybe I didn't understand if you mentioned it in your video ^^
50 g of 5 ply yarn is enough for one jellyfish ♡
@@etmsstudio update; I made another one with enough yarn and it is so cute! so simple to understand as well, im gonna start another video of yours ❤

I tried to follow the instructions but my jelly fish comes out way bigger than yours. I am not sure what is happening..is my yarn too big? I am using loops and thread cotton yarn from Michael’s.
Mabye your using a different type of yarn
You can just make until round 4 (2 sc, increase). I using this so mine not too bigger
Guess u used 5 ply yarn
This is the best jellyfish tutorial I have found. My jellyfish turned out soo cut. Thank you for the tutorial
