What’s the sound machine you have? My daughter has a 15 month old and due Dec 10th with 2nd little girl. We haven’t found a sound machine that we like but very interested in the one you have.

As a fan hearing his giggles made me teary eyed. For so long Oryn was just a concept , a longing, a wish you waited for. That little giggle is such a beautiful sign he is here now and he is happy. Especially after all the fighting you did through trying to conceive and prenatal conditions to be his mother. 💜👶I'm just so happy motherhood is now unfolding and blossoming for you . Try music to get him to sleep. I played the same classical song every time my son went to sleep and after just a few weeks as soon as he heard the music his eyes would slowly close and he would sleep.
We actually moved the big crib into our room with our third. All 3 of our babies had their best sleep in the big crib and I was desperate for a night's sleep. It was a tight squeeze but it made me feel better having her close still but giving her the bigger space!
Just a quick tip to try- if they're super grumpy and nothings working, try going outside for a few minutes. Usually distracts them enough to reset their mood ❤
Thank you for reminding me what these early days with a little one were like. Mine is 18 and about to leave home and it really does go by in the blink of an eye. You have such a lovely ability to go with the flow and live in the moment. What a wonderful thing for you both.

I'm a first time mom and this vlog was quite literally the same experience for me during his 4mo sleep regression, now my LO is 9mo, but we still prioritize cuddling over chores lol hes a contact napper too and a velcro baby. Thanks for keeping it real!
This is such a true representation of a little one that's breastfed a lot of the time! It seems that breast milk isn't as heavy on their tummies so they digest it much quicker and therefore need to eat more often. That's been my experience anyway. I know it's hard with the emotional aspect of it all and knowing when to switch if needed! Hoping all goes well either way with the both of you! Sometimes this is just how it is regardless of how they're fed!
I use two sound machines for the infants I take care of. One with lullabies and one with white noise. It helps get them use to sleeping without it having to be completely silent
Whenever you decide to use a bottle for any supplemental feeding you start to see numbers and ounces and then the worry creeps in. When you are nursing it’s more when your child is satisfied and not about ounces they have drank. It gets into your head very quickly and causes doubt. All moms fell this. Do what you think is best. Your son looks very healthy and happy and you are doing a great job. If it’s mentally and physically draining for you , then transition him to formula. I’ve done both with my children as a single mom and they are now adults and both are healthy and amazing. Good luck
Sounds like the 4 month sleep regression 🙈 it's the worst one, but there are so many 🤪 thankfully they usually only last a week or two. My little one is going through the 2 year sleep regression at the moment and we are not having any naps whatsoever 🤦🏻♀️ but thankfully she sleeps through the night! Don't stress too much and take it all one day at a time 🥰 this will soon pass!
With all the money people spend on baby items, I think it's crazy that in the uk so few people invest in a window ac unit when they have a baby. I wonder if it might be more common soon with climate change. When our central ac went out last year, I had a 2 week old baby and a toddler and we had to spend a week without ac in 105F heatwave. Once the heat got in the house it was just too much and we had to go stay with family. After that we got a window unit for our upstairs office because our central ac doesn't work well upstairs and in case we have a problem again we have a backup
You are doing a great job..never be afraid to get babies use to noise..i use to vacuum and everything because if you don't they can't sleep with the slightest noise and the world is noisy lol. I was reading the comments that are negative and just ignore them. You have to do what feels right to u.
my bub is just over a year now, and we had the EXACT same breastfeeding supply struggle timeline! it's actually really reassuring to me, to see someone go through the same situation and get fed up at about the same point 😅 i made it to 5/6 months, at which point the pediatrician said her weight gain was plateauing, so we needed to formula supplement (which helped cos it wasnt my decision), but honestly it was the best thing for all of us. i gained back some time/sanity, and she gained her weight back. ive never second guessed stopping breastfeeding for a second, and in the long run it's such a brief period, don't sweat it! ❤
My first was like that with naps. Since she was my first and I was in maternity leave, I just held her and watched tv for all her naps 😂 miss those cuddles. If I needed to get something done I used a baby carried and she napped in that.
You could try a lact-aid or a homemade version (small tube stuck through a nipple into a bottle) to give him any “top-up” so he suckles while he gets it. That increases supply way better than a pump.
I lived in a tower block and had a bin chute on my floor literally across the hallway but I always took her cos it's the safest. A little more effort but worth it.
I exclusively breastfed my daughter until she was 8 months and after that I fed for comfort until a little after a year old. She was on a cup at that point. I think it's worth it to stick it our for a few more months if you can. If not, you know it's your journey. I never had a pump and I felt exhausted all the time. I totally understand what you are dealing with emotionally and physically.

I think it means they’re moving from one baby stage into the next. So they’re developing new skills and it takes some adjustments to their routine. Including sleep😬 I think around 4 months babies start to be a lot more aware and they also start teething. Pretty disruptive to their little worlds.

She nailed it for me! I thought my baby’s 30 min naps were weird. I thought she was supposed to be sleeping at least an hour. I have 2 boys whom I bottle fed so this was new territory. Another thing she best describes about BFing is “emotional”. “Bonding” sound so mechanical and National Geographic-like. 😂 I only planned on BFing for 6 weeks. Here I am, 16 weeks later and dreading when she wants to start solid foods. 😢

Once solid food is started, you don’t breastfeed as often each day, as breast milk is no longer making up the only part of their diet, but you can still do feedings several times a day even with your baby eating solid foods. As baby grows, many moms transition to doing just bedtime or morning feedings at the breast as part of your daily routine. There’s definitely no rules on needing to stop at a certain time. Just BF for as long as you and your baby are capable, willing, or wanting to do so. 😊

Beeing so close at my body, he slept and I could do my housework. When I needed sleep, I would ask my mom and she would take him and go for a walk and I could get needed sleep👍 and I let him always sleep until he would wake up on his own. We had no real sleep routin until he was 1y old and co sleeped. Becaus it change so much trough this age. About 14 months old he finally sleeped trough the night😅 11‐13 hours, man the best sleep I had in my life😄🙈 I breastfeed him until he was 20 months old before sleep. I married and had my daughter with my husband in 2021. With her it was completly different😂 I breastfeed her too, but she was ok with every 3‐4 hours and weaned off early at 14 month, she did not enjoy the wrap so much and wanted a lot of free moving time. She sleeped for longer periods at 6 months. They are nearly opposite personalities😂 a bundle of joy everyday. Both of them are on the small and very lean side, I worried always so much about my sons weight, but i never had to get them any extra milk, luckily. He ist still very lean, but doctors are happy with everything he is fit so, all is good. Both my kids love the lovevery box toys. Good quality and fun. Formula fed babies are usually chunkier and my pediatrician always said there should be a different growth graph for each group. I breastfed my little one for well over 2 years 🙈 and found out that breast milk is great for an eye infections, small cuts and is being custom made for my baby each time she latches on, including specific nutrients, more water content when hot, more salt if she didn't drink in a while to prevent dehydration.... Breastfeeding is hardest the first 6 months or so. From then on it's a piece of cake. Nature is truly magnificent 🫶
The firstborn is doted on quite heavily, by the third one, they usually just call for take out and demand the card to pay while watching football…we are just in their way…😂
It sounds like your supply has adjusted to your pumping, especially if you are doing it at the same time every day. We also have more prolactin hormone at night than during the day. So... I don't think supplementing with formula will hurt your breastfeeding relationship.
Has the hairloss just started for you, or has it been going on for a bit? My baby is about a month behind yours and I haven't had any yet, but dreading it when it comes
This may be a bit unrelated but it still blows my mind that you guys don’t really have air-conditioning over there. I mean it’s something we’ve had here in the US since like the 50s I think. Even if you don’t want to like retrofit buildings with big air conditioning systems they sell cheaper units you can put in a window and it will cool things significantly. And they run about $100 to start. I don’t know why they don’t sell them over there for you guys, they would make such a difference. I can’t imagine going through summer heat without air conditioning. Hope it cools off for you soon!
Our warmest weather used to be 30 degrees Celsius, which was unusual (86 degrees F I think) at least here in Scotland. But its been getting warmer every year 😅
Our windows don’t usually accommodate air con. Windows that slide up/down are uncommon. Personally I only have ‘hopper’ windows that open 6” at the top in my ground floor. 🤦♀️ We have some of the oldest housing stock in Europe (mine is over 100y old and that’s not very unusual) so air con was never an option when most of our housing was built and now we’re so used to not having it they don’t even consider it for new builds, except very high end. There’s also not enough room for free-standing cos we also have some of the smallest homes in Europe 🙄And absolutely teeny compared to the USA. So not worth it for the few weeks of hot weather each year. That might change if we continue getting longer hotter summers though cos we cannot cope 😅
Because its "generally" not a hot country. 30 degrees for 2 weeks out of the year, which has only in recent years become somewhat normal. Window ac units are ugly yokes. A lot of people do have a portable little unit though.

This is something i wonder. Is every new mum this worried about their baby sleeping or not? I mean is it really wrong to let them cry once in a while? From when i grew up, my mom just did everything in the house hold wether we were asleep or not. I didn't mind to be on my 'own'. Wondering this because alot of people can't deal with this. If we continue to put babies on pedistals... it sure will be hell of a spoiled world. Don't get me wrong though, i understand how precious the baby is and the love. It's just thought flying by.edit: you have a whitenoise machine but you're to afraid he'll wakeup when you take a bath... He's not going to die if you don't respond for a minute.. christ... anyway... not my business
There's actually quite a lot of research that proves that letting kids cry/making them "cry it out" is actually a detriment to their future mental health and attachment styles. Obviously every family is different and needs to do what's best for them, but if a parent is willing and capable to keep their baby happy and nurtured, that will only be a benefit to the child/world (happy human yay) instead of creating a "spoiled" child. That's actually a myth. You cannot spoil a child by holding them too much or keeping them from crying etc ...
Totally depends on the baby. When my 6m old niece is tired and you put her down in her crib, she will have a wee cry and then slowly calm down and put herself to sleep. She just has a bit of a fuss and it’s never ‘serious’ unless she’s unwell, teething etc. My son couldn’t sooth himself until he was much older. He’s just a more sensitive temperament so if he was left he would only escalate until he cried so hard he was sick. I had him just before lockdown so there was times I physically couldn’t hold him and comfort him, and no one else could help. And it always escalated, he never learned to self-soothe, even with that ‘practice’. You cannot train a baby out of their temperament. Some babies will tolerate things that others won’t.

This may be a bit unrelated but it still blows my mind that you guys don’t really have air-conditioning over there. I mean it’s something we’ve had here in the US since like the 50s I think. Even if you don’t want to like retrofit buildings with big air conditioning systems they sell cheaper units you can put in a window and it will cool things significantly. And they run about $100 to start. I don’t know why they don’t sell them over there for you guys, they would make such a difference. I can’t imagine going through summer heat without air conditioning. Hope it cools off for you soon!
Our warmest weather used to be 30 degrees Celsius, which was unusual (86 degrees F I think) at least here in Scotland. But its been getting warmer every year 😅
Our windows don’t usually accommodate air con. Windows that slide up/down are uncommon. Personally I only have ‘hopper’ windows that open 6” at the top in my ground floor. 🤦♀️ We have some of the oldest housing stock in Europe (mine is over 100y old and that’s not very unusual) so air con was never an option when most of our housing was built and now we’re so used to not having it they don’t even consider it for new builds, except very high end. There’s also not enough room for free-standing cos we also have some of the smallest homes in Europe 🙄And absolutely teeny compared to the USA. So not worth it for the few weeks of hot weather each year. That might change if we continue getting longer hotter summers though cos we cannot cope 😅
Because its "generally" not a hot country. 30 degrees for 2 weeks out of the year, which has only in recent years become somewhat normal. Window ac units are ugly yokes. A lot of people do have a portable little unit though.

Idk if it's the postpartum hormones or being covered in breast milk but the first few months after baby I sweat sooo crazy and the smell is sooo different 😅- like a feral woodland critter lol

I found I was hotter and had stronger and more sweat when breastfeeding. Tapered off after a year when I stopped.
This is something i wonder. Is every new mum this worried about their baby sleeping or not? I mean is it really wrong to let them cry once in a while? From when i grew up, my mom just did everything in the house hold wether we were asleep or not. I didn't mind to be on my 'own'. Wondering this because alot of people can't deal with this. If we continue to put babies on pedistals... it sure will be hell of a spoiled world. Don't get me wrong though, i understand how precious the baby is and the love. It's just thought flying by.edit: you have a whitenoise machine but you're to afraid he'll wakeup when you take a bath... He's not going to die if you don't respond for a minute.. christ... anyway... not my business

There's actually quite a lot of research that proves that letting kids cry/making them "cry it out" is actually a detriment to their future mental health and attachment styles. Obviously every family is different and needs to do what's best for them, but if a parent is willing and capable to keep their baby happy and nurtured, that will only be a benefit to the child/world (happy human yay) instead of creating a "spoiled" child. That's actually a myth. You cannot spoil a child by holding them too much or keeping them from crying etc ...
Totally depends on the baby. When my 6m old niece is tired and you put her down in her crib, she will have a wee cry and then slowly calm down and put herself to sleep. She just has a bit of a fuss and it’s never ‘serious’ unless she’s unwell, teething etc. My son couldn’t sooth himself until he was much older. He’s just a more sensitive temperament so if he was left he would only escalate until he cried so hard he was sick. I had him just before lockdown so there was times I physically couldn’t hold him and comfort him, and no one else could help. And it always escalated, he never learned to self-soothe, even with that ‘practice’. You cannot train a baby out of their temperament. Some babies will tolerate things that others won’t.
