Breastfeeding, hands down is THE hardest thing I've done in my life. But I'm happy I pressed through and got to nurse all 3 of my babies. You are one strong Mama!
The way you explained your attachment to the children who you have cared for was really beautiful. It really shows your heart and your passion for making the lives you touched better for them and preparing them to connect to the parents who will love them for the future. I have watched your story for many years and seeing you do life in your own way has been an inspiration.
It's so lovely to see you again. Oryn is absolutely the most beautiful baby and you've given him such a precious name! Best of all, you look so well Bryony. I must admit I was a little worried for you because you'd had such rough times during your pregnancy. You looking so obviously well, happy and relaxed (even when you're missing your little one) is truly wonderful! Congratulations to you and Oryn's Grandparents. I'm so happy you're feeling up to filming some videos for us again and excited to hear all about your continuing journey. ❤
I loved how you answered the foster question as I often see people imply that biological & adopted children are loved & belong, but foster children aren’t, so this was lovely to hear from you 💗
Welcome back Bryony! I have been eagerly looking for updates on your Instagram. After the difficult pregnancy you've had, it's great to hear that you're enjoying your time with Oryn! He looks so so cute! I look forward to seeing what direction you will take this channel.
Congratulations! I think the maternity leave that you have is amazing. Here in the US, the most that women can get is 12 weeks, 6 of those weeks paid. I have been currently putting away money every payday to prepare for my second baby because while 6 of those weeks will be covered, I feel safer having extra money especially because the hospital bill will be a few grand at least. I wish I could easily stay home for many months with the baby and I also wish my husband could take time off work as well but he will just be using PTO (Paid Time Off) that he earned until he has to go back. He may only be able to take a week off.
I'm a Foster carer most have been teens youngest was 2. I've fallen in love with everyone. People say oh I couldn't Foster because I couldn't let the go almost as though I'm cold or hard letting them go. But it's heartbreaking. We need to love them they need us to love them how else will they learn to love and trust people.
Omg i feel you on the “your OWN child” question. My husband and i practically raised our godson, and people used to say that to us. Wait until you have your own, etc. I still loved him just as much and attached to my own in the same way!
Welcome back. Thanks for sharing a pic of little Oryn. For your audience who feel like we have been on a journey with you it is lovely to see one pic of the little one.
I feel its a perfectly ok question, the one about how different it is to love your own child vs. a foster child. Its different in different ways for people and its ok to be curious. Also perhaps people who dont have the experience of looking after children at all just cant imagine what is it like to love the children you look after, so its natural they have this question about something totally unknown to them.
I have a similar experience in looking after other people's children and looking after a child in the family. While I did think I loved the former as my own, the level of having a child in the family is a completely different level of love for me.And its not even my own child.
We are about the same age and have very different lives, but you opened my mind to fostering back when you first started. I can’t live alone yet, I have a roommate but once my career stabilizes, fostering is my plan. Thank you for always putting out amazing content
It's so nice to have you back, Bryony! I literally just thought about you yesterday wandering when you'll come back. Congrats on your adorable baby boy! 😊💙
Welcome back Briony! You look absolutely gorgeous, happy and full of energy, which is so great to see after such a tough pregnancy you’ve had. All the best in your maternity journey, the boy is absolutely lovely and I love the name! ❤ I am myself in the last day of 37th week and I am so eager to meet my baby girl already 🥰
I had a pretty easy pregnancy after first 12 weeks. Labour was crazy and also first 2-3 months post portum. It got better as she got older and i think i really started feeling that bond with my daughter when she was 3. She's now 5 and being a mother is amazing.
Dark hair/skin and nordic heritage aren't contradictory! Scandinavia has an ethnic minority called the Sami, which live in the north of the country and traditionally live off reindeer farming. They mostly have dark hair and eyes and olive skin! Same with the indigenous inhabitants of Greenland, who are genetically linked to the Inuit of and other northern people. Sadly these indigenous cultures were repressed for a long time and they are still often overlooked when it comes to the general idea of what "Nordic" looks like.
Congratz and welcome back! I'm extremely fussy with boys names, I can count on 1 hand if that how many I genuinely like but I gotta say, Oryn is a name I actually like the sound of! A rarity! Good name choice! X
Welcome back!! Lovely to see your videos again, looking forward to seeing how you continue to evolve your channel with new ideas too! So glad you and Oryn are doing well.
In France, foster carer are expected to not get too attached to the children for the birth parents not to feel jealous. That's the reason I couldn't be foster in my country...
If you get around to doing it, I would love some cloth diaper content! Funnily enough your cloth diaper videos from years ago (like 2013-ish?) were what got me hooked on them!
I also have celtic origins, infact I am more Irish gaelic than English! I was so excited when I you announced your pregnancy, because I just knew you would take to motherhood like a fish to water, and you have. So glad you are back ! 🤩😜
Obviously it's not quite the same thing, but I get that foster question a lot when I foster kittens. "How can you let them do, I'd have so many cats" and it's like, yeah, it guts me every time I give them to the rescue for adoption, but that's the whole point. They'll be great kittens now for their new family.
I would love you to explain maternity leave when you're self employed a bit more. I am self employed and have no idea about any of this. I thought you couldn't take anything if self-employed and it's partly why I've been putting off starting a family.
My son's names Carson which is a Scottish name too! Orin was actually on our name list 🥰 can I ask if you found it hard to choose a name as so many names I would imagine you associate with another child? X
It’s so cool that the letters in Oryn all appear in Bryony as well.
Very cool😊
Good job spotting that, I never did!
Yeah, when she was explaining how she chose the name, I totally expected her to mention that. 😊
You should be so proud of yourself. A mortgage, your own business, and raising a baby as a single mother. You are an inspiration ❤
As an adoptive mama to 4 from foster care, thank you for addressing the question about loving your own "more." You addressed that so well!
