      @@CrankyOldGamer Ya, I think the whole Tex talks series on Battletech is a critical asset to anyone who is really interested in the background of pivotal mechs and pivotal historical eras and battles in the BT universe and want to know some significant detail and take on those things because the Tex Talks videos do it well and are entertaining in the way he presents them. The videos provide a better feel, not just the basic facts for what the Battletech universe represents and why it supposedly works the way it does, because as many will point out, theres plenty about it that can be a puzzle in some ways.
      The reality is, the Battletech science fiction universe is probably one of the most detailed and chronicled fictional game universes there is. Endless novels and gaming resource articles have been written describing in great detail so much about it.

    The best place for lore is the black pants legion on TH-cam. The ridiculous amount of knowledge tex possesses puts crit rocket and grim dark to shame. Plus tex talks battle tech is very entertaining.

    You all should check out the app Mech Factory, has everything. It's a dream app for battletech. Been using it to look up mechs by faction and era. Also came across some interesting vehicles I never knew about that I'll use for objective and/or scenarios like mech salvage trucks

    What we need is a good place to find record sheets, but also for Battle reports a lot of these channels don't play classic or are dead. Guerrilla Miniature Games seems to play classic though

    • @CrankyOldGamer
      @CrankyOldGamer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes GMG plays classic occasionally. Death From Above have great batreps but not classic.

    Another great site is Hardwarestudios.co, they have to scale dropships and buildings. Going to save up for their "Monitor dropship" . Looks to be perfect for a Union class dropship. Well use it to transport my mech company. Might pick one of their drop shuttles as a resupply craft for an objective with some of their to scale trucks with trailers of supplies.

    • @CrankyOldGamer
      @CrankyOldGamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Love that terrain. I got a "Geppard" dropship a while back, about to paint it up. Im interested in getting some of the naval ships to do a city defending itself from a naval blockade.

      @@CrankyOldGamer thank you good sir. Getting back into the game. do you know if the rules by catalyst have stats for all the mechs sold by aries? Is there a book that gives them stats. sorry for all the questions just seems to be alot of information very spread out.

    • @CrankyOldGamer
      @CrankyOldGamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem at all! You can get the stats for all the mechs various ways. One way is to get the TROs, or Technical Readout Manuals. That is an expensive way to get them but youll get some backstory on each mech. You can also get the record sheets from Catalyst, which are used in gameplay. Photocopy those for each game use, theyll have everything you need. You get some copies of these for the mechs you get in A Game of Armored Combat for the mechs in that box. Ill see if I can find a link of a record sheet resource for you.
