while we are on the topic of Kx5 there is an effect they use in Avalanche that I'd love to better understand it is between 3:28 - 3:31, it that stretched out and then sped up things they do while pushing the cutoff up. any insight or links to videos of how to do that would be rad AF
Said it before, but its not just the super clear and helpful advice I love, its the passion that shines through in each of these tutorials that really makes it for me
I rarely understand how Joel's music is produced and made, so this is a big insight of his production techniques and I have been waiting for something like this for a pretty long time. A good explanation how his music generally is structured. Been around in his streams, when he produced but couldn't wrap my head around it and when he is in 'focus mode' he rarely explains things and hooks on a loop for hours until it sounds perfect to his ears and his imagination. Thank you very much
This video was absolutely brilliant , full of gems, anyone getting into music production needs to watch these, his paid courses are excellent as well, but even if yer no wanting to pay there’s so much in all these free videos on yt, I am just starting to make my own serum sounds so this was perfect for me, top class Will 👍
I've been working on Ableton for about 10 years and I've been following your tutorials for the last two years, and during that time the quality of my production has rapidly improved. You taught me many things. I enjoy your videos, keep up what you are doing. Good luck😉
Another awesome tutorial. It's great how you go though every step from the very beginning everytime with enthusiasm. With the help of your channel I could and can pick up Ableton and create the sounds I love. I honestly would not know where I stood without your channel. Thank you!
haha you really seem to love making music, ça fait plaisir à voir !! " we still have the epic chords, o my godnesss", it's exactly the feeling i have about my track actually haha !!
Really well-done breakdown of the track. And love the fun and enthusiasm you have, reminds me ( in the best way) of when my kids watch Stampy on Minecraft.
I love how you are able to imagine the sound before it comes into action. I have a similar process in which I make music. I mouth, hum, pretend "my bad singing" is a female vocal and I'm able to create the sound I want. I been studying music for about 15 years and like a light bulb something switched to "ON". Someone asked me where I learned how to Level Up Chords, which I'm still not too sure what it means, but I'm doing it all naturally now. I can take a single note and turn it into a melodic tone using multiple notes or even transpose from one chord to another.
Aw man, this is boss. I love that chord progression and it's sound. You asked what tracks we would like you to cover, I'd like to suggest We Go Out by alesso and sick individuals. It's a great track and the drums are particularly nice. Thanks.

wow, that Serum synth, looks the light version from my DS Thorn. I can also get kinda of sounds of my Knifonium hardware synth. I'm jamming with you, putting a melody in your arrangement. Just addicted to this lol.
Absolutely love the channel! I would really love a tutorial like this but where you show the plugins you actually use and not necessarily just the stock ones. Maybe there is already one if someone could link it? Thanks!
At 40:00, regarding phase cancellation, you could recommend to your viewers to have the Swiss Army Knife, which let's you see how changing parameters in Serum affects not only phase cancellation, but RMS and LUFS values as well. I combine this with GM audio clip, which is an oscilloscope and clipper in one, which is alot easier than using Smexoscope (there should be a free one too, just no oversampling) Combined, the two provide alot of information while taking up minimal screen space, and let's you see every parameters effect on all the measurements mentioned
