I used to sing that song to my bunny rabbit, Ash. I was whisper it softly in his ears as we would cuddle at night. It was the song I sang to him teary eyed the day I had to put him down so he'd no longer be in pain. This song makes me cry like a baby every time I hear it. He was my sweet boy. The memories rushed in - of the Andersen´s fairy tales I had read when little about little toys on the mantelpiece, also of the little song about sunshine which used to be my first daughter´s favourite lullaby. Your voice is really soothing but at the same time it has a bit of smile and liveliness to it, which is very pleasant.

Your story was incredibly touching. It moved me to tears. I was listening with my eyes closed. Picturing the story unfold in my head. I saw my daughter as the little girl and instead of the handkerchief. She was holding the letter I wrote to her on the day she was born, right before they wheeled me off into the operating room. Once you started to sing "you are my sunshine" tears fell down my cheeks. Thank you Mary, for sharing such a moving story. It's a beautiful reminder to always be present in every moment you have with your children. Well, at least that is what I took away from it.
I just loved this Mary! All the while picturing everything in my mind. I pictured the little girl as well as her room down to the layout of the window, dresser and bed. The story of the old lady dusting the fiddler especially touched my heart. My grandmother passed away in 2020 one day before her 98th birthday. She used to own a bunch of knick knacks. She also used to come over to my house faithfully every Tuesday to help me with my daughter when she was born until she started elementary school.
Mary I lost one of my big brother's this past Sunday. I liked the story, truly I did. But I laid here and cried all the way through it. I hope my Momma is there inside the gates to greet my brother, to let him know it is going to be ok now, there is no pain in heaven. I shall miss him each day until we meet again.
